With it now being March, that means Spring is near! 😀 Although, I am still in shock on how fast February went, I am totally ready for the snow and cold to go away! In February I found a lot of new products that made their way into my favorites! A lot of these are eye-shadows (surprise :P), which is my favorite of all makeup items! I hope that you enjoy!
MAKEUP
1) ColourPop Super Shock Shadows in I Heart This and Krinkle
This month I have really been loving this duo! If you haven’t tried ColourPop shadows, then I suggest that you do because they’re nothing like anything I have used before. They have a very different texture that makes them amazing! I plan on doing a more detailed review of them, but this month I wanted to give some love to I Heart This and Krinkle. I Heart This is a cool-toned silvery taupe with multi-colored glitter according to ColourPop. Krinkle is a smoky blue loaded with silver and gold glitter in a metallic finish according to ColourPop. I feel that these compliment each other very well. I put I Heart This on the inner portion of the eyelid and Krinkle on the outer part of the eyelid. Gorgeous! These shadows are amazingly pigmented and shimmery so they’re perfect for a night out, but I wouldn’t be afraid to rock it during the day as well. These work best by using fingers instead of brushes for application. Recently, they also came out with matte shades and blushes! ❤
2) Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows
I decided to try some of the new Makeup Geek foiled shadows this month and they’re are absolutely amazing! They have so much pigmentation, it’s insane! They apply like a dream as well. I have three shades which include: Grandstand (medium rose gold with slight taupe undertones and a foiled finish), Flame Thrower (True brightened warm copper with a foiled finish), and Jester (Bright mossy green with slight gold undertones and a foiled finish). The descriptions of the shades were found off Makeup Geek’s website and can be found here. They also are wallet friendly too at $9.99, which is a awesome price for the quality. These 3 shades make me want to try more of the shades! Maybe not so wallet friendly afterall….
3) Make Up For Ever Artist Eyeshadow
These were also in my 2014 Favorites, but at that time I didn’t have as many shades. I have 15 shades and I have been using these shadows quite a bit this month! MUFE is making its way into one of my top 5 makeup brands! I have been so impressed with these shadows, that I kept going back for more which is why my Z-Palette is now filled with them. These shadows come in: matte, satin, diamond, metallic, and iridescent. I have a few diamond, a few iridescent, some satin, and a few metallic. Apparently, I did get any matte ones. These shadows are said to be 88% pigment, which is why they have such amazing color pay off or pigmentation. These are blend-able and easy to work with. Also, they come in huge pans compared to other shadows. The price of them isn’t so bad if you buy 3 at a time. It is $21 for 1 shadow, $34 for 2 shades, and $44 for 3 shades. In order to get the discount you need to add the Mono, Duo, or Trio custom case to the order which is a dollar. If you don’t add the case to the cart then it is normal price of $21 per shadow. I put all mine into a Z-Palette instead. I do wish that they fit a little bit better in the large Z-Palette, but thats okay it still looks pretty. I have some neutral shades, but I also have a lot of fun colors as well! The last 3 shades on the right of the palette are the 3 shades I got at Mall of America. It reminds me of peacock feathers. I will do a more detailed review on these with swatches!
ORGANIZATION
February was the month of the Z-Palette re-discovery! I first decided I needed to get rid of the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box o’ Blushes set that has the Christmas packaging. First of all, it was the most annoying bulky packaging ever! Second of all, I don’t want Christmas packaging all year around. I literally couldn’t take it anymore so it got depotted! I didn’t even have a spare z-palette at that time so I borrowed my MUG shadows z-palette and housed my shadows somewhere else until my new z-palettes came! The medium one worked the best for the blushes, it has a little extra room, but it is way better than the original packaging. My Makeup Geek shadows got upgraded to a large z-palette. I also got a zebra Z-palette for my MUFE shadows that were described above. I am tempted to depot my Stila and Sigma palettes as well.
SKINCARE
The beginning of February my face was the driest that it has ever been. I wasn’t sure what to try, but the lady at Sephora recommended trying this Ole Henriksen Nuture Me moisturizer. She gave me a sample and I ended up being impressed and going back to Sephora and purchasing it. Nuture Me is a “smoothing creme cushions skin with nourishing vitamins” according to the label. This stuff really helped my skin come back from its dryness! I really love this stuff! It is spendy, but worth it! Also, a little goes a long way because of how moisturizing it is. It also smells amazing too! I would describe the scent as fruity, but the scent doesn’t really transfer to the face. This is also a cruelty free brand, which is a big pro for me!
2) Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Gel and Eye Makeup Remover
I was looking for a new makeup remover that removes makeup without any troubles! I hate trying to get mascara off with not so good makeup removers. I also don’t really like oil-based makeup removers because I find them irritating to the eyes. I really enjoy this cleansing gel and makeup remover because it does 2 things at once. It removes all my makeup and cleanses my face in 1 step! It takes my makeup right off including mascara! It provides a deep clean to the skin without drying it out. The product itself is a nice gel that has a foaming action.
That concludes my February favorites! Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? With that, I hope that everybody has an amazing March!
