Monthly Favorites: August 2014

IMG_20140830_110942834

August went by way too fast! I can’t honestly believe it is September 1st today (or September 5th, when I post this). August was a busy month for me, especially with starting a new job. I know I haven’t been blogging much lately, so why not come back with a monthly favorites post!

BEAUTY FAVORITES

1) Lorac Pro 2 Palette
When I first saw that Lorac was coming out with a new palette I wasn’t quite sure on if I would want to pick it up or not. I do have the original palette which I do love, but I always forget about using that palette. Well with seeing reviews and some beauty blogger’s creations with this palette, I decided to pick it up with my 20% coupon. I really love the cool tone hues in it and of course the fun colors included. The packaging is the same as the original palette, except this one is gray. The palette is very thin and sleek with a magnetic closure and a mirror as well. The shadows are nice and soft, but powdery. So all you need is a light touch otherwise your palette will be a mess. But, that doesn’t bother me too much because I love how soft they are.

2) Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette
Another palette in my monthly favorites! Well…why not? I do love myself some eye-shadow palettes. Too Faced came out with a couple new palettes for the Fall collection, but I decided on this one. This palette is a Sephora exclusive, whereas the Country and Rock & Roll palettes are Ulta exculsives. There was just something about the colors in this palette that made me grab it off the shelf at Sephora. Too Faced is one of my favorite makeup brands, and I feel like this palette doesn’t disappoint. I do wish that Kitty Glitter was more pigmented, but in reality I think it completes the palette as a nice shimmer shade. I used the pink shades in the palette for a nice pink look and then added kitty glitter for some extra shimmer.  With Too Faced shadows once you get past the first layer the shades become more pigmented, especially with Kitty Glitter. In the picture below I am wearing Kitty Glitter to add some extra shimmer.

3) Glo~Minerals Water Resistant Mascara
I have a love-hate relationship with mascara! I seem to be never satisfied with mascara and end up trying new ones all the time. I don’t understand the hype of Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara or Benefit They’re Real mascara. I just hate the application process whether it be too wet, too dry, too clumpy, too sticky, etc. Also, it is hard to find a mascara that keeps my stick straight lashes curled. Also, I like to use more natural nourishing mascaras. A lot of the drug store mascaras and even a lot of the high end mascaras use tar in their formula. I hate the feeling of lashes not feeling like lashes after application. I don’t need my lashes to feel/look like a statue because I decided to coat some tar on them. That is not good for lashes! Sorry end of rant! My salon started carrying this Glo Minerals brand and she recommended that I try this mascara after hearing about my love-hate relationship with mascara. This mascara does not have tar in it so I was happy to hear that. The mascara brush is amazing and so easy to use! I can use the brush vertical and horizontally and coat the lashes. No clumps! No spidery looking lashes either. The formula has the perfect wetness needed. I hate those super wet formulas where it takes 10 millions years to dry! Not for me! Also, my lashes feel like lashes. I have been really impressed with this mascara. I am wearing this mascara in the picture above.

4) Naked 3 Dual Ended Eyeliner Pencil
I love my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette quite a bit! I am always grabbing for it in my makeup collection. When I saw they had a dual sided 24/7 glide on eye pencil dedicated toward the Naked 3, I knew I needed to pick it up. It comes with the shades Darkside and Blackheart. I especially love the Blackheart shade because I love the red shimmer in it. Urban Decay’s eyeliner pencils are my favorite out of all the brands that I have tried. Sure, I have to sharpen them, but no big deal. I just love the creaminess of them and how easy they are to use. I am always grabbing for this eyeliner especially when I use my Naked 3.

5) Glo Minerals Shimmer Brick in Luster and Texture Brush
I also got this shimmer brick and brush at my local salon. I just wanted something that would give me a natural glow during the summer months. I was recommended by the Glo-Minerals rep to try this. I love it! I can just slightly dust it onto my cheeks and it gives me a healthy glow. It comes with 4 shades in the pan, but I just swirl all 4 shades together with the texture brush. This brush is super soft and it works really well with the application process. I have a Sigma brush like this, but I like this one quite a bit more. It is dense, but not too dense. With that being said, it picks up the perfect amount of product.

6) Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Rollerball
I have always wanted a full sized (meaning not a rollerball) Marc Jacobs perfume, but I always say no because of the price tag! I love the packaging on his perfumes! Every single one! Especially his newest ones: Daisy Dream, Honey, and Dot. This is my first rollerball from Marc Jacobs as well. I just loved this scent, but couldn’t reason spending the price tag for the full perfume right now. It is nice because I can take it with me because it is travel friendly. I can’t describe the scent very well, but it is very clean and floral smelling. Just go into Sephora or Ulta and see if you like it because everybody has different opinions. But, I quite like it. 🙂 Also, my cousin was here this weekend and she had a rollerball in Honey and omg…amazing! I think that may be the one I get when I get a full sized perfume because the packaging is ADORABLE!

LIFESTYLE FAVORITES (Movies, Books, Games, and Food)

IMG_20140830_111801110

1) The Amazing Spiderman 2
I ❤ Spiderman. This is honestly my favorite out of all the Spiderman movies (including the originals as well). I think that the cast did an amazing job. The story line kept my attention.

2) The Count of Monte Cristo
This is not necessarily a monthly favorite, but my all time favorite movie. I just wanted to share it with you all because you NEED to watch it. It is a little slow in the beginning, but believe me it is amazing. There are many themes in the storyline: friendship, love, betrayal, and revenge.  This is based off of a book written by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. Trust me, go watch it.

3) Aladdin
Aladdin is a good childhood memory of mine. I always loved that movie. I still do! I may be 25, but there is always some room for Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Abu, and of course Rajah in my life. Even before hearing that Robin Williams died, I had watched this a few days prior. Genie is one of my favorite characters in this movie. Robin Williams will be missed.

4) Mario Kart 8
My niece recently came over and we had fun playing this game. I am a big Nintendo fan and one of my favorite games for any Nintendo game system has been Mario Kart. My niece had so much fun playing this game with me.

5) If I Stay Book and Movie
I started this book and was about halfway through it when my friend and I went to the movie. I finished the book afterwards. It was an easy read. Sure, the movie was a little predictable, but it was still a good movie.  Oh how I wish that I could play the cello like that because that was pretty amazing. This book makes a person think about life and how fast it can be changed. Well, it sure made me think about it. Every second in life is important and it is important not to take that for granted. Right now I am reading the second book, “Where She Went.”

6) Trader Joes Chocolate Covered Powerberries
Usually I hate dark chocolate, but in these I love it! They’re sweetened with natural fruit juices such as: acai, pomegranate, blueberry, and cranberry juices. Then they’re covered with smooth dark chocolate. All I can say is….yum!

7) Young & Hungry

I love love love love this show! It makes me laugh! I love those type of shows. This show is aired on ABC Family. The characters in it are awesome together and I just love it.

That concludes this month’s monthly favorites! Comment and let  me know if you have tried any of the products mentioned or if you watch any of the movies or shows I mention. Also, don’t forget to check out the movie “The Count of Monte Cristo.” Hope you all had a wonderful August and have a wonderful September.

June 2014 Favorites!

IMG_20140701_144147546

I can’t believe June is already over! Now that it is July, that means more than half of 2014 is over. Wow, life goes fast! That is why we should embrace each and every day! 🙂 It is now time for my monthly favorites! I had a lot of new found loves and some re-experienced loves this month.

SKINCARE & MAKEUP

1) Glo-Minerals The Cherry Balm

IMG_20140701_144542575

My mom won this cherry chapstick at the Glo Minerals makeup presentation/class that my local salon put on. Lucky her! Since she loves it so much, I decided to pick one up for myself. I love love love love this stuff! It feels amazing on the lips. It smells like amazing cherries! It has helped my super dry lips quite a bit. This may be well on its way to becoming a holy grail! It is also natural and cruelty free! It is also quite a large tube compared to other chapsticks at 0.65 oz. Also, it is nice that it has SPF in it, especially during the summer months.

2) Naked 3

IMG_20140701_144442603

I used this palette quite a bit this month because it went with a lot of my outfits. I just kept reaching for it over and over. This palette was in my monthly favorites a couple months back and it is back for another monthly favorites! I just love the colors. One of my favorite shades is Buzz which is the 5th shade in.

3) Color Tattoos by Maybelline in Sunwashed Sky and Shimmering Sea

IMG_20140701_144315014

These 2 color tattoos are my first and only color tattoos that I own. I saw them at Walgreen’s when I was shopping for my box swap. I picked the Shimmering Sea one up for her as well. I just think that the shades are very unique, especially the Shimmering Sea one. It is a greenish-gold shade. I think that it looks amazing under a neutral eye look and it helps give it a different look in the end. The Sunwashed Sky shade is gorgeous as well and more of a blue-purplish shade. Although, I would have to say the Shimmering Sea shade is my favorite out of the two.

4) Almond Hand & Nail Cream from The Body Shop

IMG_20140701_144424410

I got this in my most recent haul from The Body Shop at the Mall of America. The Body Shop is very new to me, so I thought that I would try this cream out. So far I am loving it. The scent is nice and subtle. The formula is moisturizing. It is not greasy at all which is a big pro! Overall, I am quite impressed!

5) Glo Minerals Brush Cleaner

IMG_20140701_144608097

I’ll be honest and tell you that I absolutely hate washing my makeup brushes! It is probably the most annoying and time consuming thing about makeup. I got this at my makeup presentation and I am glad I did. It is really nice to be able to quickly clean my makeup brushes. I still do a deep cleaning with soap and water, but I feel better now that I have included this in the health of my brushes. It does seem to clean them really well and it sanitizes the brushes as well because of the alcohol content in it.

6) No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara

IMG_20140701_144500490

Target recently started carrying some Boots products and I decided to try out this No7 mascara. My eyelashes are straight and don’t like to curl. The wand does have a nice curve to it and surprisingly it does help them curl. It doesn’t necessarily stay curled all day, but I have not met a mascara that keeps my lashes curled all day. Something I love about this mascara is that my lashes feel like lashes and feel soft with it applied compared to it being hard and icky feeling.

FASHION

1) My yellow dress
This is the yellow dress that I wore to my friend’s wedding! I got it from JcPenney and I just think that it is a perfect summer dress.

IMG_20140620_162411034_HDR

2) My 1960s outfit!
I was part of a collaboration, “Makeup Through the Ages.” I did my makeup look and fashion look for the 1960s. This was definately a monthly favorite because I had a lot of fun with this collaboration! If you haven’t checked out our collaboration, then I recommend that you do!

LIFESTYLE FAVORITES

IMG_20140703_184326947

1) Maleficent

I am a huge Disney fan! With that being said, I was super excited to see this movie! I thought that it was amazing and I also thought that Angelina Jolie was PERFECT for this role. I have a lot more respect for her after this role as an actress. I just loved the different take on the popular story compared to the usual Disney’s Sleeping Beauty story. Also, Maleficent had some amazing cheek bones in this movie. I know Angelina Jolie had to spend numerous hours in the makeup chair, but coming from a makeup enthusiast’s stand point: it was pretty amazing!

2) The Fault In Our Stars Movie and Book

Both the book and the movie are in my monthly favorites this month! I read a part of the book and then I saw the movie, then I finished the book. It is such a sad story, but very moving. I saw the movie twice in theaters (once with a friend and the other with my mum) and I cried both times. I knew a classmate from high school that died of cancer and it made me think a lot of him. He was way too young to die. Sometimes life is hard to understand why certain things happen to certain people, but nobody said life was easy.

3) Candy!
Yes, I had to include this because I have been enjoying my candy from Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner! I would have to say my favorite is the Percy Pigs. There is just something about them that I love! I wish we had them in the USA, but that it okay because it is a nice little treat. My box of candy is shown in the photo above.

4) Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun
I got sunburned this month.  So using this feels very nice on my sunburned skin. I do like using the gel over the lotion because I think that it is more beneficial.

5) Walking the dogs!
It was nice to be able to walk the dogs this month! Finally we had some nice weather! Mirya and Maddie are both fans of going on walks.

IMG_20140615_201912071

6) Feeding the ducks with my nieces!
I had a lot of fun going to the park and feeding the ducks! They had a lot of fun too!

IMG_20140628_140229627IMG_20140628_135017204

7) The Lego Movie
Having only brothers growing up, I saw quite a bit of Legos. So when the Lego Movie came out, I, of course wanted to see it. It brings back a lot of good childhood memories! Of course the theme song, “Everything is Awesome” gets stuck in my head everytime I see this movie.

8) Chasing Life
This is a new show that I started watching on ABC Family! So far I am loving it! It is about a 24 year old reporter who ends up getting cancer. It is only a few episodes in, but so far it has been really good. Instead of explaining it, just watch the preview that I posted below!

That concludes this monthly favorites post! Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products or seen any of the movies/shows that I mentioned! Comment down below and let me know! I love hearing from you all!

Day 7: My Weekend & an Ulta Sale

I just wanted to share with you all what I did during this past weekend because it was a lot of fun! I also postponed my no-buy because of the Ulta sale. I know I know! My no-buy post will be coming up tomorrow so make sure to check that out. Anyway so this past weekend my parents planned on going to go to my brother and sister in law’s house to watch my 2 nieces because they had to go to the cities. I decided to go with. I don’t get to see my nieces as often as I would like because we live 1 hr and 20 minutes away which isn’t that bad, but still life gets busy. So I jumped on the opportunity to go visit them. I also brought Mirya with. Maddie went over to my grandmas. She gets car sick. My grandma also checked on Molly while we were gone.

Saturday
Of course we watched Frozen! But, we decided to get into character which was fun! My older niece dressed up as Elsa and my younger niece was Anna. I feel like they make a perfect Elsa and Anna. Comment if you agree?!?

Elsa and anna

They of course sang along and danced to the songs. My brother said, “Frozen is a movie that has really paid for itself, they have watched it a million times.”

Then my other brother and my sister in law picked me up and we went out for supper. We also made a few stops at some stores which is where I decided to postpone my no buy. I really wanted to get some dotting tools for nail art. I couldn’t find them anywhere in my hometown. We went to a huge craft store because I thought I could find them there, nope. They had a bunch of nail polish, but the lady there looked at me like I was making up the fact that there was such things as dotting tools. My brother is very smart because he piped up and said, “isn’t there a store at the mall?” Of course! Sally’s Beauty Supply. We went there and I got exactly what I wanted. We also went to Petsmart and got a harness for Miss Mirya Mae. She also got 2 toys. Can’t go to Petsmart and not get toys! Mirya and Molly also got tags for their collars. After supper we went back to their house for a bit and talked, then went back to my other brothers house. My nieces were already asleep at that time so we all sat downstairs and talked and watched some tv. I love family time!

Sunday

Spring is here! It was so nice outside. Of course there is still a lot of snow outside, but it was 50F-60F outside. That made for a lot of snow meltage. I don’t think that is a word, but I’m going with it. There were a ton of kids playing outside in my brothers neighborhood. We decided to test out Mirya’s harness and we all went for a walk/wagon ride. My brother and sister in law came back from the cities around lunch time. I also let my niece do my makeup, which is something that she was super ecstatic about. I will be posting that post sometime this month. 🙂 Mirya had a lot of fun outside going for a walk, although all the commotion outside was very overstimulating for her. On our way home we stopped at Ulta for their 20% sale. Darn Ulta and their sale tempting me. Therefore, I am postponing my no-buy! All I can say is April Fools! Lol! Also, I decided to go back to Petsmart because I wanted to get the matching leash that matched her harness. The day before I had forgotten to pick one up. I also wanted to bring her in the store because that is what pet people do that live by a Petsmart. I live an hour or so away and I had Mirya with so why not? Mirya was such a good pup inside and she met a few other puppies! She even got another toy or 2! I of course picked up a toy for Molly.

Mirya and her new harness!

IMG_1579[1]

On our way home, Mirya is so tired!

What I got from Sally’s Beauty Supply

  • ASP Nail Art 4 Pack Brush Set: thought these nail brushes would come in handy for doing nail art as well.
  • Cina Nail Art Marble Dotting Tool: this is what I was looking for! Finally I was able to find some! There is a variety of sizes so that will come in handy!
  • Beauty Secrets Nail Polish & Art Wheels: thought these would come in handy with practicing nail art.
  • Hands Down Ultra Nail Pads: thought these would be useful because they’re a pad that you can use without getting all that cotton all over. Sometimes my nails get ruined because a tiny bit of cotton from the cotton balls/pads get on my nail. These are super nice because there is a nice little tab and 1 of these can be used to remove all 10 nails of nail polish.
  • I also got a nail streamer polish set off of Amazon awhile ago so I’m all set with nail art!

IMG_1588[1]

What I got from Ulta

  • Butter London Nail Lacquer in Lovely Jubbly: I blame this purchase on The Feminine Files! If you haven’t check out her blog you should because she is amazing! You can find her blog post on this polish here. I just thought that the color was gorgeous! I have never tried a Butter London polish so I am super excited!
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil: I got the color Uzi because I needed a nice gray eyeliner. I has some shimmer in it and I just loved the swatch.
  • Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick: I saw a YouTube video on these and I wanted to try out the neutral color. So I got mine is the color Melted Nude. I was also really impressed with the swatch.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette: I was debating on either this palette or the new Urban Decay electric palette. Yes, I know they’re on totally opposite sides of the spectrum. I decided on this one, because I will get more use out of this one and plus it smells like chocolate! I also saw a picture of an eye look that Xparkage made with this palette and it looked gorgeous! I’ve also seen a ton of amazing reviews on this gem!

IMG_1586[1]

Remember during my last haul, I told you I was ordering the Pantone Universe color of the year palette! Well so far I’m loving it! Review to come!

So as you can tell I had a fun weekend! It went by way to fast! My weekends off always go by way too fast. Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of my adorable nieces as Elsa and Anna. What did you do this past weekend! Also, don’t forget to check out my GIVEAWAY post! You can find it here. Also don’t forget that there will be 30 days of The Beauty Deputy which started April 1st. #30daysofthebeautydeputy

Monthly Favorites: February 2014

Well we’re almost a week into March and I have yet to post my monthly favorites for February. I still decided that I wanted to share this post with you! February went by way too fast! I can’t believe it’s March!

20140305-163739.jpg

PALETTES

20140305-163746.jpg

1) Naked 3
Surprise! Who would have guessed that this palette would be in my monthly favorites?!? I absolutely love it! Rose gold neutrals were perfect for February. I did do a review and comparison on this palette, along with the other 2 Naked palettes. Check it out here.

2) Sigma Beauty Warm Neutral Palette
This month I was also loving this palette! I think it has amazing colors! It was featured on my recent blog hop (5 items I would bring on a last minute road trip). I just really think that Sigma’s eye shadows improved with this palette compared to their others. I love the array of colors and finishes included. Make sure to check out my review on this palette here.

BRUSHES

20140305-163753.jpg

3) Tarte Buffy Bamboo Face Powder Brush (More information on this brush here)
I am really loving this brush! It is super soft and I use it to apply my mineral veil powder. It helps give a flawless finish with the powder. Also this brush is cruelty free which I love!!! Yes the price tag is hefty, but a lot of Tarte’s products are expensive. The brush has super nice quality. I have not noticed losing any bristles at all.

4) The Balm Powder to the People  (Powder/Blush Brush) (More information on this brush here)
I also really love this brush, but I use this one for blush. It isn’t as soft as some brushes that I have, but soft enough in my opinion. Sometimes if brushes are too soft, then it is hard to pick up product. I feel like this one is perfect. It isn’t scratchy on my face or anything like that. This seems to be my “go-to” blush brush.

BLUSH/POWDER

5) Tarte Amazionan Clay 12-Hour Blush (You can find more information on the blush here)
I have this blush in the color Glisten. It is the only Tarte blush that I own, but I can tell you that I would love to have more. Once again, because it is Tarte, it does have a hefty price tag. But, this blush goes on amazingly and had the perfect amount of pigmentation. I think that the color is a perfect everyday pink color. It does have some sparkle in the pan, but it looks amazing on the cheek.  It also has longevity which is always a nice thing to have in a makeup product.

20140305-163846.jpg

20140305-163831.jpg

6. bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder (You can find more information on this powder here)
Here is another item that was featured on my blog hop post. I just think that this powder gives me a nice finish. I don’t have oily skin or anything, but I just like how it completes the look and gives me more of an airbrushed finish. I have this powder in original. The only thing that I don’t like about it, is that it is sort of messy. But, that is to be a little expected, because it is a loose powder. It is easy to get the right amount of powder wanted without wasting it, because there is a nice closure part that keeps the powder in place when not in use.

20140305-163804.jpg

Tv Shows

The Voice started up again, but this time with Shakira and Usher instead of Christina Aquilera and CeeLo Green. I have to say that I love this group of judges way more. They make it more interesting and keep me involved without my mind drifting.  I, of course, have been loving my ABC Family shows (Switched at Birth, The Fosters, and Twisted).

Movies (Pictures from IMDB)

Endless Love: Yes! I will admit that I love chick flicks. I really did like this movie, although it isn’t my favorite. I thought it had a cute story.
The Lego Movie: Yes! I did go to this movie. Well…because I only had brothers growing up and they loved Legos. It was better than I thought it was going to be. I think it was cute. “Everything is Amazing.” Yes, that theme song was stuck in my head for awhile after seeing this movie.
12 Years a Slave: I thought that this was a really good movie. Very powerful! Congrats on winning the Oscar for best picture and also to Lupita Nyong’o on winning best supporting actress! You deserved it!!

Endless Love (2014) Poster The Lego Movie (2014) Poster

12 Years a Slave (2013) Poster

Books: Sadly, I didn’t finish a book this month! My New Year’s Resolution is already down the drain! 😦 I did start reading, “Divergent” so, hopefully, I will finish that book in March. I know the movie is coming out soon!

What am I looking forward to in March?
The Hunger Games Catching Fire Blue-ray/DVD release
Frozen Blue-ray/DVD release (so excited!!!)
Hopefully less days that are below zero and being closer to Spring/Summer

This completes my February favorites! Comment and let me know what your favorites have been and if you have tried any of these products!

Xoxo

Road Trip Beauty Essentials Blog Hop

I can’t believe another month has gone by and it’s time for another blog hop! That is crazy!!! I belong to this amazing group on Facebook called, “Beauty and Fashion Blog Community!” Through this group I have gotten to meet some bloggers from all over with the same interest as me! I recommend checking it out!

Right now I would love to take a last minute trip! As amazing as that sounds I think I will be stuck in Minnesota for awhile finishing out the coldest winter in decades (or at least that is what the meteorologists say)! I may not remember all the winters,  but this one is cold! Schools have been canceled numerous times! My cousin just told me that she hasn’t had a full week of school since Christmas due to the below zero temperatures and the frigid windchill that could freeze skin in less than 10 minutes!

Sorry about my rant about the winter here in Minnesota!

So this post is going to be a little bit of imagination! I am going to pretend that I’m going somewhere warm. I know this type of trip probably wouldn’t be last minute, but it’s all imagination right now! So FLORIDA here I come!!!

Of course I will be stopping at Disney World, Medieval Times, and Harry Potter World! Got to try that Butterbeer!

So since this is a last minute trip, I would have to pack quickly! I know up North to Duluth, MN or to the Cities in Minnesota would have been more realistic, but sunny Florida is calling my name! The point of this blog hop is to share what 5 items I would bring along during this trip, besides necessities (shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant).  Also, I will probably buy some makeup there. I heard about Disney inspired makeup palettes only available at Disney World. I would definitely have to check those out!

MY 5 ITEMS

20140227-231327.jpg

1) Warm Neutrals Palette by Sigma Beauty

What Sigma says, “The Sigma Beauty Warm Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette is comprised of 12 new neutral shades of rich, warm hues giving you the ability to create endless options for a lit-from-within glow. This collection features matte, frost, sheen, duo-chrome and shimmer finishes. Paraben-free.” More information here. I also did a review of this palette here.

I just really love this palette and I think that it would be perfect for travel because it has a bunch of different neutral colors. I could create many different looks with this array of colors and finishes. I was debating on if I would take this palette over any of the Naked palettes, but I decided on this one because it has a little of everything in it including rose toned neutrals.

20140227-231334.jpg

2) Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer by The Balm

What The Balm says, “This weightless, silky-smooth tinted moisturizer with SPF 18 offers sun protection for everyday drama while helping to improve the look of your skin’s tone and texture, leaving you with a polished complexion.” More information here.

A big reason why I would bring this is because it is super easy to apply and it has SPF in it. With me being Scandinavian decent, I have a tendency to burn. Although when I do it usually turns to tan instead of peeling. I feel like if I’m on vacation I don’t need to apply a full face of foundation. This gives me pretty good coverage for being a tinted moisturizer!

20140227-231340.jpg

3) Rockateur Box O’ Powder by Benefit Cosmetics

What Benefit says, “Pick up the beat with a rush of heat! This rockin’ rose gold cheek powder gives a famously provocative flush that turns heads on-stage and off. The crowd will go wild for its sexy faceted design, accented in luxe gold. For an encore, the custom angled, dimensional brush gives rich, show-stopping payoff every time.” More information here

Here is one of my favorite blushes! It is my only blush from Benefit. I just really love this color and it gives a nice sutle color that would be perfect for this trip!

4) Mineral Veil by bareMinerals

What bareMinerals says, “Get the ultimate flawless finish while protecting your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays. Make the most of your makeup with Mineral Veil, a see-through but spectacular finale for any kind of complexion. Minimizing lines, absorbing oils, and softening your complexion, it gives you a flawless finish that’s too good to miss. And best of all, it’s utterly weightless. Just a bare veil of minerals that lock makeup in place and give your skin airbrushed perfection.” More information here

I would bring this item with because I think it helps complete my face after using my tinted moisturizer. It also helps protect my skin from UV rays which is very important. I have it in the shade original.

5) Wonderstruck Enchanted Perfume Rollerball by Taylor Swift

What Ulta says, “Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift is an irresistible blend of luscious wild berries and sugar-glazed petals wrapped in a touch of sensuality for a captivating signature.” More information here.

I love this perfume! I think that it has the perfect girly scent and since it is a roller-ball it would be easy to pack into a bag. I also love Taylor Swift’s original Wonderstuck perfume. I feel like the Enchanted one is more for an evening out, but could really be worn anytime of the day.

She is a very talented young lady and I love watching her YouTube videos! I think they all did an amazing job! If you love Disney and grew up listening to the Spice Girls I recommend watching this!!!

A few little things….Need input!

I have a question for my followers. Are my blog posts showing up on the reader? I am just wondering because I recently did a post on Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen inspired makeup and haven’t received much feedback. I have asked a few followers and they said that they did not see it on their reader and that they weren’t receiving emails either. Comment down below and let me know.
A few little extra things I wanted to include…

Just wanted to post this picture from Disney’s Frozen because if you look closely you can see Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert from Disney’s Tangled. I just wanted to post that so if you go to the movie you can pay attention because I don’t remember seeing them when I went.

Also, I just thought that this was cool. I live in Minnesota and I have been to Mall of America many times. This post makes me proud to be a Minnesotan! It’s about a person named Zach Sobiech that got cancer and wrote a song called, “Clouds” which is him basically saying goodbye. This song became very popular and was number 1 on Itunes. Which it honestly is an amazing song. Sadly he did pass. Well not too long ago 5,000 people got together and sang this song at Mall of America. There is a video on the link. Just take a look because it is pretty amazing!

One last thing is that it is now snowing on my blog. I think that is awesome!
