August 2015 Monthly Favorites!

20150829_141112

August is always a fun month here in Minnesota with the Minnesota State Fair and the start of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. These activities mean Fall is coming. Fall is actually my favorite time of the year because of the gorgeous colors, pumpkin pie and apple crisp, and of course being able to wear Fall fashion such as: boots, scarfs, skinny jeans, etc. Although I don’t like what comes after that….Winter. Enough of my blabbing-let me share with you all my monthly favorites of this month!

Stila Got Inked Cushion Liner

20150829_141353

I have never been this excited or blown away by an eyeliner before. I also haven’t bought anything from Stila in a long time. These little pots of eyeliners are so unique- I have never seen anything like them before. These are pretty expensive so at first I decided to pass on them until I kept seeing YouTube videos with high raves and amazing swatches. The shade Smoky Quartz Ink kept catching my eye-it is a shimmery khaki-bronze type shade (yes, I know I am horrible at describing colors :/ ). I decided to pick it up at Ulta. I did not pick up the brush for this because I thought it was extremely over priced. I have some tarte eyeliner brushes that came free with some of their eyeliners-so I just use those brushes. It works just fine-naughty Stila for charging that much for a brush. It is pretty with the feather and all, but still 28 dollars. :0  Basically you dip your brush into the pot and draw it on your eye like any other eyeliner, but the crazy thing about these eyeliners is that it looks like you’re dipping your brush into an ink pad. It was super easy to use which is a big pro for me! It also lasts all day and comes off without any issues using makeup remover. I really want to try more colors from them, but I probably won’t because of the price tag. You can find more information regarding these liners on Stila’s website here.

Jessica Simpson Signature Eau de Parfum

20150829_141155

I was at Herbergers checking out all the perfumes and came across the Jessica Simpson one. I liked Jessica Simpson back when she first came out, but I’m not a crazy fan of hers or anything. I just really liked the scent of this perfume. It is nice and elegant smelling-if that makes sense. I also think the packaging is gorgeous with the feather detail. I was debating on getting a Marc Jacobs perfume, but I ended up getting this one. I just wasn’t really that excited about any of the Marc Jacobs scents at the time. I do have some rollerballs from him, but not any perfume bottles. This perfume has notes of citrus, floral, vanilla, and sandalwood. I am terrible at describing scents- so take a whiff if you’re ever in Ulta or another store that carries it.

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

20150829_141547

20150829_141555

Too Faced is one of my favorite brands! They’re always coming out with new and exciting eye shadow palettes-that is not good for the wallet of any makeup lover. This month I have been reaching for my Semi-Sweet palette. It has a lot of neutral shades that can create a variety of looks. I would say that my favorite row is the bottom one out of the palette. You can kind of tell which shades I use the most in the picture above. Rum Raisin is my favorite shade out of the whole palette. These shadows are pigmented and blend-able. They’re perfect for everyday use. Of course the best part is-it smells like chocolate!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Champagne Pop-Jaclyn Hill

20150829_141229

I have never tried a Becca highlighter until I got this one. They do have quite a few of these shimmering skin perfectors. This is the second Becca product that I have tried (I also have the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector). The main reason I got this highlighter is because of Jaclyn Hill. I love her YouTube videos! This is the highlighter that she created with Becca Cosmetics. I am in love with this highlighter because it gives such an amazing healthy glow to the skin. It blends into the skin like a dream. It also has a crazy amount of pigmentation. This highlighter can be worn on a multitude of skin tones which is what Jaclyn was striving for. It is the most expensive highlighter I own, but it was well worth it for the quality. This is a Limited Edition shade. It is also a Sephora exclusive. I had to get mine online at Sephora because it was always sold out in stores. So if you want it I recommend buying it before it is too late!

My Favorite Lip Combo- Mac Pet Me, Please Lipstick and Urban Decay Failbait

20150829_141532

This month I have been loving pairing this lipstick with this lip-gloss. The lipstick is my only Mac lipstick I own. Sadly, it was a Limited Edition shade. I mostly got it for the packaging and  I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Mac lipsticks. I hear that sometimes Mac comes out with the same lipsticks, but in different packaging. Not sure if that is true, but it is something that I have heard. This lipstick is very shimmery so I don’t usually like to wear it by itself, pairing it with the lip-gloss from Urban Decay tones the shimmery-ness down making it more wearable. I wouldn’t say that this lip combo lasts all day, but it is sure pretty.

I hope that you enjoyed my August monthly favorites! I know it has been FOREVER since I’ve been posting on my blog. Life was super busy with my job. I am now at a better job that I can feel more like myself and I will have a little more time and motivation to blog. I still enjoy the makeup world and I’m ready to come back. Comment down below and let me know what your monthly favorites are! Also, what are your plans for the upcoming season?!?

Getting Back into Blogging and some Beauty Hauls

This year has been super busy for me that I have been very neglectful to my blog. My neglectfulness started once I started a new job last year. I was used to the hospital with doing 12 hour shifts and then I could work on blogging during my days off as needed. With having a full time job that involved a lot of computer charting, I just didn’t have motivation to come home and stare at a computer. That job just left me feeling defeated and I needed something new. I started a new job with all normal hours about 2 months ago! I am a nurse at a clinic now. Now, I feel like I am less stressed out and that I can get back into blogging little by little. I don’t want to go months at a time without a post ever again! So why not start out with showing you all my latest hauls. I got these items over the past 5 to 6 months or so. Some of them I got recently, but hey we don’t need to explain ourselves right?!?…we are all beauty lovers here.

Metamorphosis Quad by Coffee Break with Dani

Coffee Break with Dani is one of my most watched YouTubers. She has such a sweet bubbly personality in her videos. She got to team up with ColourPop Cosmetics and make this amazing quad of shadows. She put a ton of thought into the meaning and the shades of this quad. This is Limited Edition-so it won’t  be around forever. I plan on doing a review on ColourPop shadows sometime in the future.

Too Faced Haul

Too Faced came out with a lot of new products recently. It feels like yesterday these products came out, but it has been a couple months already. I really wanted to try their new foundation Born This Way-I sadly got the wrong shade (note to self never buy foundation online). It looks too yellow on me, but I do like the formula. The palette is gorgeous! I will do a review on it coming up soon so stay tuned for that one! The kabuki brush had amazing reviews so I wanted to try it out. So far I am loving it! It is perfect for travel which makes sense since it is retractable. They also came out with new blushes. They’re so adorable with the heart shape and the cute bunnies inside. I will do a review on that blush as well.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette and Eye Brush

Lately I have been really impressed by Kat Von D and her makeup line. I’ve heard rave reviews on this palette so I picked it up to see what all the fuss was about. It has a nice array of neutral matte shades. Although, I sometimes like to add a shimmery ColourPop shadow on top when I use this palette because well…this girl loves her shimmer. I also got the eye brush which is super soft and perfect for travel.

IMG_20150702_181210034_HDR

The Body Shop Body Butters

These are my holy grail body butters that I use for moisturizing my body. I got these during a trip to Mall of America. These are super moisturizing and smell amazing! I decided on a variety of them-I think I only have 2-3 left of these. Ignore my ugly carpet in the picture.

IMG_20150708_234546446

Some Ulta Goodies!

Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands as well so I decided to pick up their new Smoky palette about a month and a half ago. I also got the Lorac Contour Pro Palette at that time as well. Recently, Too Faced came out the Star Dust Vegas Nay palette. This is my most recent purchase! This palette is simply gorgeous!

20150905_122422-1

20150904_180808

Click the link below for a photo on Instagram of a few more items I got. I got the Stila mascara and primer, and an eyeliner. I also picked up some The Balm products from Kohls.

That concludes this huge makeup haul! Like I said this was over 5-6 months. Yes, it is still a lot, but that comes with the territory of being a makeup enthusiastic and beauty blogger. It feels good to be back to blogging! I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what recent beauty purchases you have made and if you have tried any of the products that I talked about in this post!

Monthly Beauty Favorites: March 2015

This year has seriously been flying by, but that just means that here in Minnesota we’re closer to warmer weather! I can’t wait to wear summer dresses and sandals! A few weekends back I ditched my winter jacket because it was 60 degrees out! People were jacket-less and grilling in the middle of March. That was a weird feeling, but that is Minnesota for you. This month I found some new beauty loves and some re-discoveries! With that, I hope you enjoy my March monthly favorites!

IMG_20150328_124701[1]
1) Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette

IMG_20150328_124513[1]

This month I have been loving this matte palette from Tarte. This is a very wearable neutral all matte palette. It has 12 shades included; a row of cool tones, a row of warm tones, and a row of purple tones. I am quite surprised with how smooth and blend-able these shadows are. They’re very versatile shades as well. Not only do I like to use this palette alone, I also love pairing it with the Makeup Geek foiled eye-shadows; if I want to add a metallic finish to the matte look.

2) Brilliant & Spellbinding Eyeshadow Palette

IMG_20150328_124439[1]

I have had this palette for a little while now, but one day while doing my makeup I was in search of a coral shade. Be hold the amazing Brilliant and Spellbinding palette by Sigma Beauty. I also really love the yellow shade as well. This palette is very “Spring” feeling in my opinion with the pink, yellow, and coral shades. I really love the Sigma Beauty eyeshadow formula in these palettes. They’re very pigmented, blend-able, and smooth. They have four palettes like these all together. I am thinking about de-potting all 4 of these palettes into a z-palette.

3) Urban Decay 24/7 glide-On Eye Pencil in Scorch

IMG_20150328_124611[1]

During my last trip to the cities I was looking for a bronze-brown eyeliner shade and ending up finding the shade Scorch. I have been using this shade quite a bit lately. It is a gorgeous shade that works well with neutral looks. I love the Urban Decay’s eyeliner formula and find it to be the best out of any that I have tried. I love how creamy and easy to apply they are.

4) Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha

IMG_20150328_124631[1]

I really love my Nyx Jumbo pencils! They work really well as a base. I never use them on their own, but they could be if you wanted to. The shade Iced Mocha is a gorgeous shade and works well underneath any neutral look. I feel like these jumbo pencils help my eyeshadow last longer during the day. I still use Urban Decay’s original eyeshadow primer underneath.

5) Lush Cosmetics Honey Trap Lip Balm

IMG_20150328_124544[1]

Recently I re-discovered this lip balm. I had it before and ended up losing it, so when I was at Mall of America’s Lush store I decided to replace it. This stuff is super moisturizing and smells like honey. 😀 I always use it before I go to bed and it keeps my lips moisturized and smooth. It is also made out of natural ingredients which is always a plus.

That concludes this month’s monthly favorites! What have you been loving this month? Have you tried any of these products? Comment and let me know!

Monthly Favorites: August 2014

IMG_20140830_110942834

August went by way too fast! I can’t honestly believe it is September 1st today (or September 5th, when I post this). August was a busy month for me, especially with starting a new job. I know I haven’t been blogging much lately, so why not come back with a monthly favorites post!

BEAUTY FAVORITES

1) Lorac Pro 2 Palette
When I first saw that Lorac was coming out with a new palette I wasn’t quite sure on if I would want to pick it up or not. I do have the original palette which I do love, but I always forget about using that palette. Well with seeing reviews and some beauty blogger’s creations with this palette, I decided to pick it up with my 20% coupon. I really love the cool tone hues in it and of course the fun colors included. The packaging is the same as the original palette, except this one is gray. The palette is very thin and sleek with a magnetic closure and a mirror as well. The shadows are nice and soft, but powdery. So all you need is a light touch otherwise your palette will be a mess. But, that doesn’t bother me too much because I love how soft they are.

IMG_20140830_111340564

2) Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette
Another palette in my monthly favorites! Well…why not? I do love myself some eye-shadow palettes. Too Faced came out with a couple new palettes for the Fall collection, but I decided on this one. This palette is a Sephora exclusive, whereas the Country and Rock & Roll palettes are Ulta exculsives. There was just something about the colors in this palette that made me grab it off the shelf at Sephora. Too Faced is one of my favorite makeup brands, and I feel like this palette doesn’t disappoint. I do wish that Kitty Glitter was more pigmented, but in reality I think it completes the palette as a nice shimmer shade. I used the pink shades in the palette for a nice pink look and then added kitty glitter for some extra shimmer.  With Too Faced shadows once you get past the first layer the shades become more pigmented, especially with Kitty Glitter. In the picture below I am wearing Kitty Glitter to add some extra shimmer.

3) Glo~Minerals Water Resistant Mascara
I have a love-hate relationship with mascara! I seem to be never satisfied with mascara and end up trying new ones all the time. I don’t understand the hype of Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara or Benefit They’re Real mascara. I just hate the application process whether it be too wet, too dry, too clumpy, too sticky, etc. Also, it is hard to find a mascara that keeps my stick straight lashes curled. Also, I like to use more natural nourishing mascaras. A lot of the drug store mascaras and even a lot of the high end mascaras use tar in their formula. I hate the feeling of lashes not feeling like lashes after application. I don’t need my lashes to feel/look like a statue because I decided to coat some tar on them. That is not good for lashes! Sorry end of rant! My salon started carrying this Glo Minerals brand and she recommended that I try this mascara after hearing about my love-hate relationship with mascara. This mascara does not have tar in it so I was happy to hear that. The mascara brush is amazing and so easy to use! I can use the brush vertical and horizontally and coat the lashes. No clumps! No spidery looking lashes either. The formula has the perfect wetness needed. I hate those super wet formulas where it takes 10 millions years to dry! Not for me! Also, my lashes feel like lashes. I have been really impressed with this mascara. I am wearing this mascara in the picture above.

IMG_20140830_111319219_HDR

4) Naked 3 Dual Ended Eyeliner Pencil
I love my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette quite a bit! I am always grabbing for it in my makeup collection. When I saw they had a dual sided 24/7 glide on eye pencil dedicated toward the Naked 3, I knew I needed to pick it up. It comes with the shades Darkside and Blackheart. I especially love the Blackheart shade because I love the red shimmer in it. Urban Decay’s eyeliner pencils are my favorite out of all the brands that I have tried. Sure, I have to sharpen them, but no big deal. I just love the creaminess of them and how easy they are to use. I am always grabbing for this eyeliner especially when I use my Naked 3.

IMG_20140830_111455763

5) Glo Minerals Shimmer Brick in Luster and Texture Brush
I also got this shimmer brick and brush at my local salon. I just wanted something that would give me a natural glow during the summer months. I was recommended by the Glo-Minerals rep to try this. I love it! I can just slightly dust it onto my cheeks and it gives me a healthy glow. It comes with 4 shades in the pan, but I just swirl all 4 shades together with the texture brush. This brush is super soft and it works really well with the application process. I have a Sigma brush like this, but I like this one quite a bit more. It is dense, but not too dense. With that being said, it picks up the perfect amount of product.

IMG_20140830_111103422_HDR

6) Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Rollerball
I have always wanted a full sized (meaning not a rollerball) Marc Jacobs perfume, but I always say no because of the price tag! I love the packaging on his perfumes! Every single one! Especially his newest ones: Daisy Dream, Honey, and Dot. This is my first rollerball from Marc Jacobs as well. I just loved this scent, but couldn’t reason spending the price tag for the full perfume right now. It is nice because I can take it with me because it is travel friendly. I can’t describe the scent very well, but it is very clean and floral smelling. Just go into Sephora or Ulta and see if you like it because everybody has different opinions. But, I quite like it. 🙂 Also, my cousin was here this weekend and she had a rollerball in Honey and omg…amazing! I think that may be the one I get when I get a full sized perfume because the packaging is ADORABLE!

LIFESTYLE FAVORITES (Movies, Books, Games, and Food)

IMG_20140830_111801110

1) The Amazing Spiderman 2
I ❤ Spiderman. This is honestly my favorite out of all the Spiderman movies (including the originals as well). I think that the cast did an amazing job. The story line kept my attention.

2) The Count of Monte Cristo
This is not necessarily a monthly favorite, but my all time favorite movie. I just wanted to share it with you all because you NEED to watch it. It is a little slow in the beginning, but believe me it is amazing. There are many themes in the storyline: friendship, love, betrayal, and revenge.  This is based off of a book written by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. Trust me, go watch it.

3) Aladdin
Aladdin is a good childhood memory of mine. I always loved that movie. I still do! I may be 25, but there is always some room for Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Abu, and of course Rajah in my life. Even before hearing that Robin Williams died, I had watched this a few days prior. Genie is one of my favorite characters in this movie. Robin Williams will be missed.

4) Mario Kart 8
My niece recently came over and we had fun playing this game. I am a big Nintendo fan and one of my favorite games for any Nintendo game system has been Mario Kart. My niece had so much fun playing this game with me.

5) If I Stay Book and Movie
I started this book and was about halfway through it when my friend and I went to the movie. I finished the book afterwards. It was an easy read. Sure, the movie was a little predictable, but it was still a good movie.  Oh how I wish that I could play the cello like that because that was pretty amazing. This book makes a person think about life and how fast it can be changed. Well, it sure made me think about it. Every second in life is important and it is important not to take that for granted. Right now I am reading the second book, “Where She Went.”

6) Trader Joes Chocolate Covered Powerberries
Usually I hate dark chocolate, but in these I love it! They’re sweetened with natural fruit juices such as: acai, pomegranate, blueberry, and cranberry juices. Then they’re covered with smooth dark chocolate. All I can say is….yum!

7) Young & Hungry

I love love love love this show! It makes me laugh! I love those type of shows. This show is aired on ABC Family. The characters in it are awesome together and I just love it.

That concludes this month’s monthly favorites! Comment and let  me know if you have tried any of the products mentioned or if you watch any of the movies or shows I mention. Also, don’t forget to check out the movie “The Count of Monte Cristo.” Hope you all had a wonderful August and have a wonderful September.

June 2014 Favorites!

IMG_20140701_144147546

I can’t believe June is already over! Now that it is July, that means more than half of 2014 is over. Wow, life goes fast! That is why we should embrace each and every day! 🙂 It is now time for my monthly favorites! I had a lot of new found loves and some re-experienced loves this month.

SKINCARE & MAKEUP

1) Glo-Minerals The Cherry Balm

IMG_20140701_144542575

My mom won this cherry chapstick at the Glo Minerals makeup presentation/class that my local salon put on. Lucky her! Since she loves it so much, I decided to pick one up for myself. I love love love love this stuff! It feels amazing on the lips. It smells like amazing cherries! It has helped my super dry lips quite a bit. This may be well on its way to becoming a holy grail! It is also natural and cruelty free! It is also quite a large tube compared to other chapsticks at 0.65 oz. Also, it is nice that it has SPF in it, especially during the summer months.

2) Naked 3

IMG_20140701_144442603

I used this palette quite a bit this month because it went with a lot of my outfits. I just kept reaching for it over and over. This palette was in my monthly favorites a couple months back and it is back for another monthly favorites! I just love the colors. One of my favorite shades is Buzz which is the 5th shade in.

3) Color Tattoos by Maybelline in Sunwashed Sky and Shimmering Sea

IMG_20140701_144315014

These 2 color tattoos are my first and only color tattoos that I own. I saw them at Walgreen’s when I was shopping for my box swap. I picked the Shimmering Sea one up for her as well. I just think that the shades are very unique, especially the Shimmering Sea one. It is a greenish-gold shade. I think that it looks amazing under a neutral eye look and it helps give it a different look in the end. The Sunwashed Sky shade is gorgeous as well and more of a blue-purplish shade. Although, I would have to say the Shimmering Sea shade is my favorite out of the two.

4) Almond Hand & Nail Cream from The Body Shop

IMG_20140701_144424410

I got this in my most recent haul from The Body Shop at the Mall of America. The Body Shop is very new to me, so I thought that I would try this cream out. So far I am loving it. The scent is nice and subtle. The formula is moisturizing. It is not greasy at all which is a big pro! Overall, I am quite impressed!

5) Glo Minerals Brush Cleaner

IMG_20140701_144608097

I’ll be honest and tell you that I absolutely hate washing my makeup brushes! It is probably the most annoying and time consuming thing about makeup. I got this at my makeup presentation and I am glad I did. It is really nice to be able to quickly clean my makeup brushes. I still do a deep cleaning with soap and water, but I feel better now that I have included this in the health of my brushes. It does seem to clean them really well and it sanitizes the brushes as well because of the alcohol content in it.

6) No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara

IMG_20140701_144500490

Target recently started carrying some Boots products and I decided to try out this No7 mascara. My eyelashes are straight and don’t like to curl. The wand does have a nice curve to it and surprisingly it does help them curl. It doesn’t necessarily stay curled all day, but I have not met a mascara that keeps my lashes curled all day. Something I love about this mascara is that my lashes feel like lashes and feel soft with it applied compared to it being hard and icky feeling.

FASHION

1) My yellow dress
This is the yellow dress that I wore to my friend’s wedding! I got it from JcPenney and I just think that it is a perfect summer dress.

IMG_20140620_162411034_HDR

2) My 1960s outfit!
I was part of a collaboration, “Makeup Through the Ages.” I did my makeup look and fashion look for the 1960s. This was definately a monthly favorite because I had a lot of fun with this collaboration! If you haven’t checked out our collaboration, then I recommend that you do!

LIFESTYLE FAVORITES

IMG_20140703_184326947

1) Maleficent

I am a huge Disney fan! With that being said, I was super excited to see this movie! I thought that it was amazing and I also thought that Angelina Jolie was PERFECT for this role. I have a lot more respect for her after this role as an actress. I just loved the different take on the popular story compared to the usual Disney’s Sleeping Beauty story. Also, Maleficent had some amazing cheek bones in this movie. I know Angelina Jolie had to spend numerous hours in the makeup chair, but coming from a makeup enthusiast’s stand point: it was pretty amazing!

2) The Fault In Our Stars Movie and Book

Both the book and the movie are in my monthly favorites this month! I read a part of the book and then I saw the movie, then I finished the book. It is such a sad story, but very moving. I saw the movie twice in theaters (once with a friend and the other with my mum) and I cried both times. I knew a classmate from high school that died of cancer and it made me think a lot of him. He was way too young to die. Sometimes life is hard to understand why certain things happen to certain people, but nobody said life was easy.

3) Candy!
Yes, I had to include this because I have been enjoying my candy from Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner! I would have to say my favorite is the Percy Pigs. There is just something about them that I love! I wish we had them in the USA, but that it okay because it is a nice little treat. My box of candy is shown in the photo above.

4) Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun
I got sunburned this month.  So using this feels very nice on my sunburned skin. I do like using the gel over the lotion because I think that it is more beneficial.

5) Walking the dogs!
It was nice to be able to walk the dogs this month! Finally we had some nice weather! Mirya and Maddie are both fans of going on walks.

IMG_20140615_201912071

6) Feeding the ducks with my nieces!
I had a lot of fun going to the park and feeding the ducks! They had a lot of fun too!

IMG_20140628_140229627IMG_20140628_135017204

7) The Lego Movie
Having only brothers growing up, I saw quite a bit of Legos. So when the Lego Movie came out, I, of course wanted to see it. It brings back a lot of good childhood memories! Of course the theme song, “Everything is Awesome” gets stuck in my head everytime I see this movie.

8) Chasing Life
This is a new show that I started watching on ABC Family! So far I am loving it! It is about a 24 year old reporter who ends up getting cancer. It is only a few episodes in, but so far it has been really good. Instead of explaining it, just watch the preview that I posted below!

That concludes this monthly favorites post! Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products or seen any of the movies/shows that I mentioned! Comment down below and let me know! I love hearing from you all!

Beauty Blogger Collaboration: Makeup Through The Ages -1960

1907337_10201859612924643_1540852947928680308_n

Do you see the title of this blog collaboration?!?! I am beyond ecstatic to be doing this wonderful “Makeup Through the Ages” post with a bunch of other amazing beauty bloggers from all over the world! Awhile back I had asked my followers to take part in this awesome collaboration with me!  🙂 As you may know, makeup has changed quite a bit throughout time. Our blog collaboration will take our readers on a journey through the ages starting with Egyptians, skipping numerous years, then the roaring 1920s to present day, and then of course futuristic! I can’t wait to see what all the other ladies came up with!

My Decade

Untitled

I picked the 1960s for a couple of reasons! I love the music! I am a big classic rock fan. I love the song, “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals. I posted a YouTube video just in case you have never heard of it! I, of course, also loved THE BEATLES! They’re one of my favorite bands!

A Little History Lesson!

1960 JFK (John F. Kennedy) beats Richard Nixon in the presidential election to become the 35th US President. The book “To Kill a Mockingbird” was published.
1961 “West Side Story” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” comes to the big screen.
1962 Marilyn Monroe dies of an overdose. World wide television and cable became a reality. Eleanor Roosevelt dies. My amazing mum is born!

The 1960s Beauty Trends

I did do some research online, but I got most of my information from my grandparents who grew up in the 1960s.

  • Dramatic makeup looks.
  • Pedal Pushers! Which in today’s age are known as capris.
  • The mini skirt makes its way into fashion!
  • Big Hair!!!! Lots of volume! Remember the movie “Hairspray” and their crazy volume?!? That takes place in the 1960s.
  • A lot of black liner!
  • Cut creases (mostly used black)
  • Nude lips also became popular in the 1960s. But, my grandma said that in the early 1960s, red lips were super popular!
  • Colorful eye looks!
  • Thick full lashes on both the bottom and top as worn by Twiggy in the 1960s.
  • The Nurses hat! (So glad I don’t have to wear that in my nursing career)!

MAKEUP

When I first decided I was going to do the decade of the 1960s, I of course, wanted to do a blue eye-shadow look because it just screams the 1960s in my opinion. When I was talking to my grandmas, they both said blue eye-shadow was the craze. I have never done a cut crease, so my look is going to be a little softer than the Twiggy version of a cut crease with an intense black line.

IMG_20140615_173912281

I love my Nyx Jumbo pencil in milk because it definitely helps eyeshadows pop, especially a blue shade. I layered that on top of my Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. The white base does not need to be perfect because, well, it will be turning blue here soon…

primer

I recently got the Mac Fix+ because I visited my first ever Mac store and felt like this was a good purchase. Basically, I sprayed my eyeshadow brush with this Mac Fix+ to moisten it and that helped make the shadow more pigmented and  give it a more harsh look.

perfect duo

There I am adding the crazy blue shadow single which is from the amazing brand of Urban Decay and in the shade Peace. I recently got a new makeup mirror, as you can see in the photo, and I love it! I will be doing a post on that sometime soon.

blue shadow

I never ever wear winged eyeliner, so I’ll be honest, this was really new to me. Therefore, ….. TAPE! I applied tape so I would get it even. Placement of the winged eyeliner is supposed to follow the bottom lash line into a wing. But, before you add fresh tape onto your poor little delicate under eyes, put it on your hand first to take away some of the stickiness. I used 2 different eyeliners for this look. The first one I used is by Collection and it is their 24 hour felt tip eyeliner. I used that along the lashline and the wing (basically the whole eyeliner part). The second eyeliner was just a little blacker, so I added that eyeliner on top of the one from Collection. That eyeliner is from The Balm and it is their Schwing liquid eyeliner.

eyeliner

This was probably the hardest part of the look. Making it look like a “cut crease.” As you can see in the photo, I just took the shade Blackout and applied it in the crease. I did blend it a little bit so it isn’t quite the same as Twiggy. But, you get the point. I also applied some Blackout shadow under my lash line as well.

adding in the black

Time for mascara! I decided to try the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara. I really wanted dark voluminous lashes and I didn’t want to have to put fakes ones on, so this was the next best thing.

macara

I wanted to add a little shimmer to my look, therefore, The Balm’s Overshadow in Work is OverRated comes to the stage.

finishing touch

Apparently in the 1960’s a lot of people would shave off their eyebrows and draw them on. They did draw them in on the heavier side and more of a straight line. Yeah, I’m not going to do that.

brows

I used the products that I usually use from day to day. In the 1960s they liked more of a matte over a dewy finish. I used Porefessional from Benefit for a primer. Then, my tarte Amazonian clay foundation in Light Sand. Finally, I finished off with my bareMinerals Mineral Veil powder.

face

Time for some bronzer, highlighter, and some blush. I hardly ever wear bronzer, ever! But, I decided to use my Pur Minerals Mineral Glow. The highlighter I used is the famous Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm. In the 1960s they wore a lot of coral blush. Hence, I thought that my Sleek blush in the shade coral would be perfect to add to this look.

bronzer

I really wish that I would have worn a nude lipstick, because I have the perfect one. I did wear a red lipstick because my grandma had said that in the early 1960s, red was popular and that during that time they came out with more shades: nudes, pinks, etc. I just finally had a reason to wear a red lipstick. I used my Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in the shade Theodora. I got it in my Theodora palette from The Great and Powerful Oz.

HAIR

1) In the 1960s, they wore a lot of hair accessories. So I decided to use my headband (from Maurices) for some extra 1960s style. I just parted my hair on the side and put the headband into place. Then I combed back the rest of the hair that was behind the headband.
2) Since they ratted their hair a lot to get extreme volume I decided to try this voluminizing powder from Not Your Mothers. It did work pretty well, because I was able to comb through my ratted hair with no difficulty. Do not try ratting your hair without using a powder like this, otherwise it will be a snarly mess.
3) After applying the powder in the roots, I took a comb and started ratting.
4) For some extra volume I decided to have a little mini bun that the ratted hair from step 3 will cover.
5) I just continued to rat all my hair around the headband, until it looked something like this…
6) Pin back the hair with a bobby pin making sure to cover the bun. I did have a flower clip that I placed over the bobby pins. You will be able to see it in the photos below.

THE COMPLETED LOOK

This is my completed look. I really like that it looks very 1960s. Comment if you agree?!? This eye look is obviously not an everyday look, but they sure loved their blue eyeshadow back then.

completed makeup

FASHION

This is probably where I had the most fun with this collaboration. Picking out my outfit!! I feel like the neckline of the shirt I’m wearing is perfect! In the 1960s they wore a lot of rounded collar necklines, whether it be a shirt or a dress, that style was in. It is also a perfect blue shade! I of course spotted this shirt at Maurices. No surprise there! My pedal pushers or capris (whatever you prefer to call them) are also from Maurices. They didn’t usually wear blue jean pedal pushers (like in today’s age), but more khaki or colorful ones instead. My black flats I have had forever, but I’m 99.9% sure I got them at Famous Footwear. My necklace I felt was very fitting for this decade with the silver hoops. That is from the jewelry company, “Premier Designs.” Both my earrings and bracelet are from Maurices. They would wear big hoop earrings, but this was the most dangly earring I had.

SOME SHIBA INU LOVE…
Since hardly anybody has heard of a Shiba Inu in today’s age, I’m sure Shiba Inus were quite rare then. But, that didn’t stop me from taking some photos with my pup Mirya! She is so photogenic!

shiba

That concludes this post! I hope that you enjoyed reading it. Let me know what you think of my makeup, hair, and outfit. I had a lot of fun doing this. Doing 1960s makeup and hair isn’t the easiest, so I am glad that I don’t have to rat my hair like they did back in the day. Also, so glad that I don’t have to wear those white nurses hats. Make sure to check out all the other lovely ladies’ posts that are part of this.

Day 26!! Get Ready with Me: A Girl’s Night Out Blog Hop!!!

Can you believe that April is coming to an end?!? That is crazy! But, I have a happy feeling with that, because I actually wore sandals today. It felt amazing! Absolutely amazing! Hopefully Spring is here to stay! This lovely blog hop was lead by the amazing Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner. Jacquelyn, a few other ladies, and I, decided to post a blog hop, “Get Ready with Me: Girl’s Night Out.” Aaah the agony of deciding what palette to use?!? Yes, I may be a little bit of a palette addict! I decided to go with my newest palette by Too Faced which is the Chocolate Bar palette. Let me tell you this….not only do I love this palette, but it smells amazing! Sometimes I just open it again, just so I can get a whiff of chocolate.

Part 1

Prime those eyes! I used Urban Decay primer potion as my primer, then added a Maybelline color tattoo over and blended it out.

Part 2: The fun part! The Shadow!

Step 1: Open the palette and smell the amazing chocolate scent!

IMG_20140425_123505548

Step 2: Take a flat shader brush and apply the color Marzipan onto the inner half of the eyelid.

IMG_20140425_123552913

Step 3: Take another flat shader brush or flip the current brush around and take Haute Chocolate and place that shade on the outer half of the eyelid.

IMG_20140425_123753381

Step 4: Take a crease brush and add the shade Milk Chocolate into the crease. Make sure to blend, blend, blend!

IMG_20140425_123943429

At the end of these steps you should have something like this!

IMG_20140425_1240125625

Step 5: Take a pencil brush with the shade Black Forest Truffle and add some definition to the outer V and blend a little bit of that shade into the crease. This shade has some sparkles and is very pretty!

IMG_20140425_124240222_HDR

Step 6: Take a blending brush and take the shade White Chocolate and apply it below the eyebrow and blend out the harsh lines of Milk Chocolate.

IMG_20140425_124346597

Step 7: Take the Overshadow in Work is Overrated from The Balm and apply it all over the lid for some extra shimmer! Perfect for a night out!

Step 8: Take the shade Champagne Truffle and apply it in the inner corner by the tear duct.

IMG_20140425_124820933

Part 3: Eyeliner, Mascara, Face, and Lips

Step 9: Add liquid eyeliner! I used my Collection eyeliner from the UK!

IMG_20140425_125133316

Step 10: I did not like the liquid eyeliner for this look because I felt like it was too harsh, but adding Black Forest Truffle really softened up the look. I used a pencil brush to apply the shadow.

Step 11:  Apply mascara!

Step 12: Put on that face!

I love my Sigma F80 for applying foundation! It gives me a flawless finish!

IMG_20140425_125857151

Love this concealer that I got in my box swap! Thanks Effie!

IMG_20140425_130333380

Step 13: Apply blush and highlighter! I didn’t contour, even though I probably should have for a night out look. I have yet to find a good brush for that, so I usually shy away from bronzer powders at the moment.

IMG_20140425_130140340

Step 14: Finishing Powder!

IMG_20140425_130550258

I use this brush to set my concealer because it fits perfectly under my eye area.

IMG_20140425_130646191

Step 15: Pout those lips!

I got this Cailyn product from my Ipsy bag and this Julep lipgloss from a few Julep Maven boxes back.

Step 16: Add those finishing touches!

The Final Look

I could not get the camera to capture the actually look. In the photos you can’t see the shimmer! 😦  I need to figure out a way to capture my makeup looks more effectively!

The lip products faded throughout the day, so here are some pictures with a different lip!

That concludes this Get Ready with Me post! I know it was more like a tutorial! I decided to just do my makeup! Although, a big part of a girl’s night out would include fashion, hair and nails!!! Comment and let me know what you thought! Also, have you tried the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette!?!?

Day 21: What I would buy if I had $500-$1000 to spend on beauty products…

I saw this post idea from Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner and I decided that I would do this post too! She said that she would love for others to do this post as well, so here it goes! This probably isn’t helping my no buy, but I still wanted to share this post with you! If you haven’t checked out her blog make sure to do so. You can check it out here. Maybe someday I would win a shopping spree from Sephora or Ulta. Lol, big dreaming!

1) Alex Drawer Unity with 9 drawers from IKEA $119.00

I hate disorganization! I hate how I have my makeup stored now! This lovely beauty is very popular among the Youtubers and makeup enthusiasts. I would just love to have all my items stored in one space. I would use this for more than just makeup such as: nail polishes, skincare (Lush bath bombs), hair accessories, and much more. I’ve never been to an IKEA before. My brother and sister in law love IKEA and if they decide to go to the cities and ask me to go with, I WILL be picking this up.  Monica Geller from Friends would be so proud of this!

2) Urban Decay Electric Palette $49.99

This palette just has a lot of fun colors! I’ve seen the swatches of the colors and they look amazing! It is definitely not an everyday palette, but it would be a fun one to have. This palette would be perfect for those pop of color looks.

3) Meet Matt(e) Nude by The Balm $42

The Balm is one of my favorite brands. I do have a few The Balm palettes, but I actually don’t have this one. I got this palette during a 50% sale that they were having and I sent this palette to the UK for my box swap! I felt like Stephanie (Effie) really needed to try out this brand.

4) The Balm Powder to the People Brush in Crease, Love, & Happiness $24.50

I love this brush! I used to have this brush, but sadly Mirya got a hold of it! This is a reason why the IKEA drawer would be nice! I love the crease brush because it fits perfectly into my crease.

5) INSTAIN Long Wearing Powder Staining Blush by The Balm $22.00

I got a sample of this blush in a different color  in a Birchbox.  I was very impressed with the pigmentation and longevity. I really like the color that I posted down below called Argyle.

6) Ambient Lighting Palette by Hourglass from Sephora $58.00

I have heard so much about these powders! They have so many great reviews, but the price tag sure is large. It is cool that they came out with this combo palette.

7) Ambient Lighting Blush $35.00

I did see these at Sephora when I was at Mall of America. They felt amazing when I swatched them. I just couldn’t get over the price tag. But, that is Hourglass. I would have to re-swatch all the colors and decide which one I would get, but right now I am loving the look of Ethereal Glow with is a cool pink (shown in the photo below). Apparently these blushes are blended together with the powders described above making for a flawless face.

8) Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library by Bite Beauty $49.00

I really want to try something from Bite Beauty. Apparently this brand is all natural and made with food grade ingredients. They do this because apparently overtime we consume quite a bit of lip products! Coffee Break with Dani on YouTube just did a Bite Beauty haul and all the things she got were gorgeous!

9) Luminous Creme Lipstick by Bite Beauty $24.00

I of course would love to try their lipsticks as well. I’m not sure on what color yet, but most likely neutral or pink. I would have to re-watch that video from Coffee Break with Dani because there was a color that she got that I absolutely loved. The color I posted below is Ballet Pink and I think it looks gorgeous!

10) Glamglow THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment $69.00

These masks are super expensive, but receive a lot awesome reviews! I would get the hydrating treatment because I have dry skin. Although, I probably will never ever buy this because of the price tag, but it is still fun to look.

11) Sigma Beauty The Perfect Blend Kit $63.00

I would love to try this brush kit because I want blending brushes to make for easier application. I really love Sigma brushes so I would love to try this set.

12) Return of Sexy palette by Too Faced $49.99

This palette looks gorgeous! My sister in law just got this palette and she loves it! It has a lot of nice colors included. It also includes a eyeliner and a shadow insurance.

13) Makeup Geek Eyeshadows $5.99 each

I have heard so many amazing things about Makeup Geek shadows. A ton of people said that I need to try these shadows including an old roommate. I really want to try them and see what all the hype is about. They seem to be really affordable with being $5.99 each. There is an amazing range of colors! I am in love with this mermaid color. I posted a few more colors that I thought looked amazing! Photos found here.

 14) Lime Crime Fantasy Palette in Palette D’Antoninette $35.00

I have heard many amazing things about Lime Crime! I especially love the look of this palette. I love the bright pastel colors.

15) i-Divine Palettes by Sleek Makeup $11.99 each

I was really impressed with the Sleek palette that I got in my box swap. I of course lusted over the other palettes after I was so impressed with the Storm palette. Make sure to check out my review on that palette if you haven’t already. Pictures found on their website here. Pretty much all their palettes are amazing, but here are a few of my favorites!

Well I decided that I am going to stop at #15. I guess I’m not exactly sure what my total is, but I know that is is close. Obviously, I would never get all of this, but it was sure fun to share all the amazing products out there! Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products!

I hope everybody had an amazing Easter! I worked during the weekend so I plan on getting together with my family next weekend for a Easter/April birthdays combo celebration!

Day 19: April 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Beauty Rocks

With it nearing the end of April that can mean a variety of things, with receiving my Ipsy glam bag being one of them. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that costs $10 dollars a month. They usually send around 5 beauty samples ranging from skincare to makeup in a cute little cosmetic bag. I have had Ipsy for a good portion of time and I do really enjoy receiving these monthly. BirchBox has come and gone, and Beauty Box 5 may be out the door as well, but Ipsy so far has been my favorite.

Time to share with you all the items that I got this month!

This month’s theme was Beauty Rocks! Personally I think that this month’s bag is ugly. Definitely not a fan of it, but I suppose that it does fit the theme really well. This month’s bag also has a smell to it that I can’t explain. I would say that it is a mix between a factory/chemical smell and something I can’t distinguish. I do really like the shade of purple, but that is no surprise because I love purple!

IMG_1846

Here is the little card that comes inside the bag. It just shows information about brand offers. I hate that Ipsy doesn’t include a card that states a description about the products like BirchBox and Beauty Box 5.

IMG_1847

Here is an overview of the items included!

IMG_1862

Item #1 Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion skin exfoliant

What Ipsy says, “The dr. brandt® microdermabrasion gently sweeps away dead skin cells and softens skin texture, which enables better absorption of skincare products and helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, acne marks, and skin discolorations. A great at home alternative to professional clinical treatments. Safe to use for all skin types. For best results use with dr. brandt® skincare products. ” Information found here

I didn’t feel like trying this on my face quite yet, especially with starting my long stretch at work. I really don’t want to have any break outs because I decided to try a new product on my face. I did try a tiny bit on a portion of the top of my hand and this stuff sure made them smooth. The scrub particles are very fine which is something that I like. I do really like the scent as well. It reminds me of lime tea. So far I’m very intrigued to give this a go and see if it makes my face super soft, but that will happen after my long stretch at work.

IMG_1853

Item #2  24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil from Urban Decay in Black Velvet

What Ipsy says, “A must for smoky-eye fanatics: an ultra-plush version of UD’s creamy, waterproof 24/7 formula. Create perfectly blended-out or rich, precise lines that are blacker-than-black. ” More information found here

I really like these eye liner pencils from Urban Decay. When I first started getting into Urban Decay, I got this set that came with a bunch of mini eyeliners. I think that they’re super creamy and easy to use. This eyeliner does not tug on the eyelid during application. I hate that I have to sharpen these pencils, but since I like the formula I don’t mind too much. I am more of a fan of twist up eye liner pencils such as Stila, but I feel like Stila’s formula is a little too soft. All in all I was happy to receive another pencil and was even more excited because it is in a color that I have never tried.

IMG_1851

IMG_1852

Item #3 Tinted Lip Balm by Cailyn in Apple Pink

What Ipsy said, “Indulge in colors that last and formulas that enrich! This ultra matte, super moisturizing lip balm offers you rich colors with amazing staying power.” More information found here

This lip balm has super bulky packaging. At first I was amazed by how bulky it was until I realized that it came with a lip brush. So far I like this lip balm and I love that it came with a brush (seems to be a nice one too). Although, yes I think the shape is odd and I might have a hard time finding a place for it in my collection I know I will get some good use out of this one. I really like the color and don’t think that it is too bold for me. I do think that it wasn’t as moisturizing as it claims. I just added a swipe of my Miranda’s Tangerine lip balm for some extra moisture.

Item #4 Jasmine Perfume Oil Roll On by Demeter

What Ipsy says, “An exotic, sweet, warm floral bouquet. Demeter’s Jasmine is the experience of the living flowers picked on a beautiful spring night. Wear alone or layer with your favorite Demeter fragrance. With over 250 fragrances, the Demeter Fragrance library is inspired by everyday objects and experiences. ” More information found here

I was not impressed with the scent of this! I feel like a person is either going to love it or hate it. I just wasn’t liking it because it was way too strong for me. I do have a perfume collection and I never ever saw myself wanting to use this. So I decided to swap with another person. She is sending me an Essie polish in exchange for this product and the following product below.

IMG_1850

Item #5 Pop! Goes the Shadow by Elizabeth Mott in Champagne

What  Ipsy says, “The Elizabeth Mott pop! goes the eyeshadow is the ultimate eyeshadow that’s long lasting, easy to apply, and effortlessly blends. Buildable colors will take you from subtle highlights to dramatic smokey eyes. With pop! goes the shadow, eye shadow creasing is a thing of the past. Get ready to try the eye shadow that will change your life!” More information found here

I just wasn’t excited about this item. It’s not because I didn’t think that the color was pretty. I did not swatch it for the reason that I swapped it for my Essie polish, but the color did look pretty in the pan. I tend to use palettes instead of single eye-shadows. I think the reason that I decided not to even try it was because I belong to a group on Facebook where we can swap and trade beauty subscription items. I decided to post a picture of both this item and the one above and see what people had to say. I am quite happy that I will be getting a new Essie polish instead.

IMG_1849

So that concludes this bag for the month of April. So overall I thought this bag was medicore. I just wasn’t as excited as previous bags. I think that part of it was because I am annoyed because I never receive the Ipsy products that I actually want ever. I really wanted the Benefit Lolltint, but oh well! I just get annoyed when any subscription box service posts a photo of an item on their Facebook page or Instagram or some social media site as a sneak peek and then I don’t even receive that item. Sorry for my little rant! Comment and let me know if you subscribe to Ipsy and what you got in your Ipsy bag! I love hearing from my readers!

Day 1: Beauty & Fashion Spring Picks Blog Hop

April 2014

It is time for another blog hop!! This time we decided to do Spring Product Picks as our topic, which is very fitting for this time of year. Although, looking outside I feel like Spring is so far away. Even though I see a little (brown) grass, there is mostly snow. I still have been using some products of mine that scream Spring! The Winter colors are long gone and it is time for Spring!  I am going to share with you all a variety of items that I will be using this Spring such as: makeup, clothing, accessories, and much more.

MAKEUP

During the winter months, I tend to wear a lot of neutral colors and I got a lot of use out of my Naked palettes and my Sigma warm neutrals palette. Although, I feel like I could still use those palettes in Spring, I am more excited about colorful eye shadow looks. Bye bye neutrals! Hello color!

Eye-shadow Palettes

My favorite makeup item is eye shadow. If you have been following my blog, you probably know that is no surprise! It is my favorite part of makeup application because I love finding my creativity with my eye looks! If I am going to apply makeup, I will never skip eye shadow.  I do have quite a few makeup palettes. I almost didn’t include all these, but I really think that they’re perfect for Spring. I love the colors in all of them!

Aren’t the colors gorgeous?!? I feel like all these colors are perfect for Spring.

Stila In The Garden Palette
I love this palette because I can make a multitude of looks. My favorite shadows in this palette are the green ones, also the purple toned one that reminds me of the color of the year (radiating orchid).
Inglot Freedom System
I picked out the shadows to fill my palette, and as you can see, I went for brighter colors. I have a variety of colors such as: mint green, an orchid color, and many more.
Urban Decay The Great and Powerful Oz Glinda
Palette
I love this palette! I also love this movie! My favorite shadows include: the purple shadow and the pink shadow.
Kat Von D Esperanza Palette
I got this palette mostly for the purple and mint green shadow. This palette has a variety of colors that end up working together in this palette. I love the purple color making it perfect for Spring!
Sigma Creme De Couture Palette
This was a limited edition palette inspired by macaroons. I feel like they should have waited and released this palette now because it has such bright, fun colors. They released it last year, around Fall time, which didn’t really make sense.
Sigma Flare Palette
I love this palette for the colors that it includes, especially the purple shadows. I haven’t got much use out of the other colors in this palette, but I look forward to finding my creativity with it.

Blush

A look closer at the colors…

IMG_1387

The Balm How ‘Bout Them Apples?
How adorable is this palette’s packaging? The Balm always does amazing things with packaging! I don’t really use cream blushes that often so there is still learning in process on application. It will be fun using this palette this Spring.
Pixi Beauty Blush in No. 3 Perkiest Pink
Got this blush on clearance at Target. I’m glad that I picked this blush up, because the color is amazing. It is a super nice Springy pink.
Sleek Blusher in Coral
Of course, I needed to include my coral Sleek blush. Love this blusher that I got in my box swap. Such a gorgeous coral blush color!
Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum Pop
If this blush doesn’t scream Spring, than I don’t know what does? It is shaped as a lovely daisy flower and the color is gorgeous!

Lips

Pacifica Lip Tints ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I love these! I started out with the color, Guava Berry and I have almost used that one up. I decided to get more of them since I love them so much. I will be doing a review on these lovelies! So make sure to check back! They’re so easy to use and perfect for Spring time. This is a product that I sent to Effie in my box swap!

Lip Glosses

IMG_1392

Maybelline Color Elixir in Dashing Orchid
This is perfect because it is the color of the year. Gives such a nice color to the lips and so far I’m loving the texture.
Nyx Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait
Nyx Butter Glosses are amazing! They also smell amazing as well! I will be posting a review on these soon!
Julep Lip Gloss in Enchanted
Love the color of this gloss! It is sure Enchanted!
Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Lovechild
I got this gloss awhile ago when it first came out. I haven’t worn it much because I think that it is more fitting for Spring-time.

FASHION

Clothing

I got most of this clothing at Maurices or Vanity, except for the scrubs shown. For Spring, I am excited to bring out the fun colors such as: pinks, orange, turquoise, and many more. Of course, I had to show a few Spring dresses (more like Summer) because I can’t wait for the snow to melt. As you can see, I took these photos by the window and you can still see the icky snow! I hear that it is supposed to snow here again, but who knows! Those meteorologists aren’t always right! Working as a nurse on the medical-surgical floor, I supply my own scrubs, so that means I want to wear Spring ones during Spring. I am also into holiday scrubs! I just got that Easter one shown above! Isn’t it adorable!?!? I know I didn’t show any bottoms, but I can’t wait until I can at least wear capris and sandals. Sadly, I think I’ll be wearing pants for awhile and won’t be able to take my sandals out until all the snowy, muddy mess is gone!

Shoes

IMG_1397

Here are my rainbow tennis shoes that I adore. Whenever I wear these, people always compliment me on them. They’re colorful and fun!

IMG_1398

I just got these boots not too long ago. They’re part of the Baretraps new Spring line. I thought they were super cute!

IMG_1448

Sandals! I can’t wait to wear these lovelies! I love wearing sandals! Although, I will have to get my feet ready for sandal season by getting a pedicure! SNOW MELT!!!! Just not too fast, so that it floods!

 ACCESSORIES

Hair

IMG_1394

Wearing headbands like these in my hair is perfect for Spring. Also, these don’t give me a headache like some other headbands. I got all of these at Maurices of course!

Purses

I got this purse on sale, and I decided that purple would be perfect for Spring. It is also the perfect size and the inside print is adorable! The color in real life is closer to the second photo.  I got this purse at Herberger’s!

Scentsy

IMG_1403

Just thought I should share with you all my favorite Spring Scentsy warmer. I have a ton of these warmers because I am a Scentsy consultant. These warmers melt scented wax using a lightbulb. This one is shaped as an egg and adorable!!! I of course, have a ton of favorite Scentsy bar scents such as: Jumpin’ Jelly Bean and Black Raspberry Vanilla.,

PERFUME ❤

IMG_1447

Here are a few (or 6!) of my favorite perfumes that I feel are perfect for Spring! I love perfumes! Although I can’t wear it everyday because of being a nurse, I love wearing it on my days off!  The descriptions start on the top left to top right, and then bottom left to bottom right.

  1. Anna Sui La Vie De Bohème. You can find this perfume here. I love the scent of this perfume! According to Sephora the notes include: Turkish Rose, Pear, Red Berries, Dragon Fruit, Magnolia, Peony, Freesia, White Wood, Skin Musk, Red Raspberries, Vanilla, Sandalwood Accord. I think that it has a nice mix of scents: pretty, fresh, and sweet. It isn’t too floral which is always a plus.
  2.  Katy Perry Meow. You can find this perfume here. I really love this perfume! The packaging is adorable for one thing! Who doesn’t love cat packaging!?!?! Notes include: top notes (Tangerine, Pear and Gardenia), middle notes (Honeysuckle, Lily of the Valley and Orange Blossoms), and bottom notes (Vanilla, Musk Amber and Sandalwood). I just think that this scent is very girly. It smells fruity, floral, and fresh. Love it! ❤
  3. Mark Night Iris. You can find it on Avon’s site here. What Avon says, “Its dark, mysterious beauty draws you in. Its scent surprises, lighter than you’d ever expect. This is Night Iris as it’s never been before, artfully blended with hints of water lily, exotic berries and purple freesia to add to its feminine allure.” I used to sell Avon/Mark and this is one my favorite perfumes from them. It smells amazing with feminine, fruity, and floral hints.
  4. Clinique Happy in Bloom. I got this little sample for Christmas. You can find the perfume at Ulta here. What Ulta says, “Everything we love about spring – in a bottle. Clinique’s upbeat floral fragrance makes your world sweeter, softer, brighter. Captures the feeling of a world suddenly in bloom. But just like the season, it won’t be here forever.” This is my favorite Clinique perfume and it definitely reminds me of Spring when flowers are blooming.
  5. Maurices Myliu. I love this perfume! I got it at my favorite store Maurices awhile ago. I can’t find it online on their site anymore, but if you’re in Maurices and see this perfume, I recommend checking it out. It smells amazing! I don’t even know how to explain this scent, but it is a favorite of mine.
  6. Avon Secrets to Keep. You can find this perfume on Avon’s site here. What Avon says, “A dreamy blend of fruits and florals. Whispers of sweet apple and juicy strawberry with a passionate heart of jasmine, white musk and warm sandalwood.” I love this scent! It smells fruity and floral, but mostly fruity. I definitely can smell the strawberry notes in it.

NAIL POLISHES

Going through my nail polish collection, I picked out these lovely colors. I am horrible at painting my nails so I don’t do it as often as I want. But, this Spring, I want to paint my nails more!
