Getting Back into Blogging and some Beauty Hauls

This year has been super busy for me that I have been very neglectful to my blog. My neglectfulness started once I started a new job last year. I was used to the hospital with doing 12 hour shifts and then I could work on blogging during my days off as needed. With having a full time job that involved a lot of computer charting, I just didn’t have motivation to come home and stare at a computer. That job just left me feeling defeated and I needed something new. I started a new job with all normal hours about 2 months ago! I am a nurse at a clinic now. Now, I feel like I am less stressed out and that I can get back into blogging little by little. I don’t want to go months at a time without a post ever again! So why not start out with showing you all my latest hauls. I got these items over the past 5 to 6 months or so. Some of them I got recently, but hey we don’t need to explain ourselves right?!?…we are all beauty lovers here.

Metamorphosis Quad by Coffee Break with Dani

Coffee Break with Dani is one of my most watched YouTubers. She has such a sweet bubbly personality in her videos. She got to team up with ColourPop Cosmetics and make this amazing quad of shadows. She put a ton of thought into the meaning and the shades of this quad. This is Limited Edition-so it won’t  be around forever. I plan on doing a review on ColourPop shadows sometime in the future.

Too Faced Haul

Too Faced came out with a lot of new products recently. It feels like yesterday these products came out, but it has been a couple months already. I really wanted to try their new foundation Born This Way-I sadly got the wrong shade (note to self never buy foundation online). It looks too yellow on me, but I do like the formula. The palette is gorgeous! I will do a review on it coming up soon so stay tuned for that one! The kabuki brush had amazing reviews so I wanted to try it out. So far I am loving it! It is perfect for travel which makes sense since it is retractable. They also came out with new blushes. They’re so adorable with the heart shape and the cute bunnies inside. I will do a review on that blush as well.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette and Eye Brush

Lately I have been really impressed by Kat Von D and her makeup line. I’ve heard rave reviews on this palette so I picked it up to see what all the fuss was about. It has a nice array of neutral matte shades. Although, I sometimes like to add a shimmery ColourPop shadow on top when I use this palette because well…this girl loves her shimmer. I also got the eye brush which is super soft and perfect for travel.

The Body Shop Body Butters

These are my holy grail body butters that I use for moisturizing my body. I got these during a trip to Mall of America. These are super moisturizing and smell amazing! I decided on a variety of them-I think I only have 2-3 left of these. Ignore my ugly carpet in the picture.

IMG_20150708_234546446

Some Ulta Goodies!

Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands as well so I decided to pick up their new Smoky palette about a month and a half ago. I also got the Lorac Contour Pro Palette at that time as well. Recently, Too Faced came out the Star Dust Vegas Nay palette. This is my most recent purchase! This palette is simply gorgeous!

Click the link below for a photo on Instagram of a few more items I got. I got the Stila mascara and primer, and an eyeliner. I also picked up some The Balm products from Kohls.

That concludes this huge makeup haul! Like I said this was over 5-6 months. Yes, it is still a lot, but that comes with the territory of being a makeup enthusiastic and beauty blogger. It feels good to be back to blogging! I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what recent beauty purchases you have made and if you have tried any of the products that I talked about in this post!

Monthly Beauty Favorites: February 2015

image

With it now being March, that means Spring is near! 😀 Although, I am still in shock on how fast February went, I am totally ready for the snow and cold to go away! In February I found a lot of new products that made their way into my favorites! A lot of these are eye-shadows (surprise :P), which is my favorite of all makeup items! I hope that you enjoy!

MAKEUP

1) ColourPop Super Shock Shadows in I Heart This and Krinkle
image

image

This month I have really been loving this duo! If you haven’t tried ColourPop shadows, then I suggest that you do because they’re nothing like anything I have used before. They have a very different texture that makes them amazing! I plan on doing a more detailed review of them, but this month I wanted to give some love to I Heart This and Krinkle. I Heart This is a cool-toned silvery taupe with multi-colored glitter according to ColourPop. Krinkle is a smoky blue loaded with silver and gold glitter in a metallic finish according to ColourPop. I feel that these compliment each other very well. I put I Heart This on the inner portion of the eyelid and Krinkle on the outer part of the eyelid. Gorgeous! These shadows are amazingly pigmented and shimmery so they’re perfect for a night out, but I wouldn’t be afraid to rock it during the day as well. These work best by using fingers instead of brushes for application. Recently, they also came out with matte shades and blushes!  ❤

2) Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows
image

image

I decided to try some of the new Makeup Geek foiled shadows this month and they’re are absolutely amazing! They have so much pigmentation, it’s insane! They apply like a dream as well. I have three shades which include: Grandstand (medium rose gold with slight taupe undertones and a foiled finish), Flame Thrower (True brightened warm copper with a foiled finish), and Jester (Bright mossy green with slight gold undertones and a foiled finish). The descriptions of the shades were found off Makeup Geek’s website and can be found here. They also are wallet friendly too at $9.99, which is a awesome price for the quality. These 3 shades make me want to try more of the shades! Maybe not so wallet friendly afterall….

3) Make Up For Ever Artist Eyeshadow
image

These were also in my 2014 Favorites, but at that time I didn’t have as many shades.  I have 15 shades and I have been using these shadows quite a bit this month! MUFE is making its way into one of my top 5 makeup brands! I have been so impressed with these shadows, that I kept going back for more which is why my Z-Palette is now filled with them. These shadows come in: matte, satin, diamond, metallic, and iridescent. I have a few diamond, a few iridescent, some satin, and a few metallic. Apparently, I did get any matte ones. :/ These shadows are said to be 88% pigment, which is why they have such amazing color pay off or pigmentation. These are blend-able and easy to work with. Also, they come in huge pans compared to other shadows. The price of them isn’t so bad if you buy 3 at a time. It is $21 for 1 shadow, $34 for 2 shades, and $44 for 3 shades. In order to get the discount you need to add the Mono, Duo, or Trio custom case to the order which is a dollar. If you don’t add the case to the cart then it is normal price of $21 per shadow. I put all mine into a Z-Palette instead. I do wish that they fit a little bit better in the large Z-Palette, but thats okay it still looks pretty. I have some neutral shades, but I also have a lot of fun colors as well! The last 3 shades on the right of the palette are the 3 shades I got at Mall of America. It reminds me of peacock feathers. I will do a more detailed review on these with swatches!

ORGANIZATION

Z-Palettes
image

February was the month of the Z-Palette re-discovery! I first decided I needed to get rid of the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box o’ Blushes set that has the Christmas packaging. First of all, it was the most annoying bulky packaging ever! Second of all, I don’t want Christmas packaging all year around. I literally couldn’t take it anymore so it got depotted! I didn’t even have a spare z-palette at that time so I borrowed my MUG shadows z-palette and housed my shadows somewhere else until my new z-palettes came! The medium one worked the best for the blushes, it has a little extra room, but it is way better than the original packaging. My Makeup Geek shadows got upgraded to a large z-palette. I also got a zebra Z-palette for my MUFE shadows that were described above. I am tempted to depot my Stila and Sigma palettes as well.

SKINCARE

1) Ole Henriksen Nuture Me
image

The beginning of February my face was the driest that it has ever been. I wasn’t sure what to try, but the lady at Sephora recommended trying this Ole Henriksen Nuture Me moisturizer. She gave me a sample and I ended up being impressed and going back to Sephora and purchasing it. Nuture Me is a “smoothing creme cushions skin with nourishing vitamins” according to the label. This stuff really helped my skin come back from its dryness! I really love this stuff! It is spendy, but worth it! Also, a little goes a long way because of how moisturizing it is. It also smells amazing too! I would describe the scent as fruity, but the scent doesn’t really transfer to the face. This is also a cruelty free brand, which is a big pro for me!

2) Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Gel and Eye Makeup Remover
image

I was looking for a new makeup remover that removes makeup without any troubles! I hate trying to get mascara off with not so good makeup removers. I also don’t really like oil-based makeup removers because I find them irritating to the eyes. I really enjoy this cleansing gel and makeup remover because it does 2 things at once. It removes all my makeup and cleanses my face in 1 step! It takes my makeup right off including mascara! It provides a deep clean to the skin without drying it out. The product itself is a nice gel that has a foaming action.

That concludes my February favorites! Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? With that, I hope that everybody has an amazing March!

Monthly Favorites: August 2014

IMG_20140830_110942834

August went by way too fast! I can’t honestly believe it is September 1st today (or September 5th, when I post this). August was a busy month for me, especially with starting a new job. I know I haven’t been blogging much lately, so why not come back with a monthly favorites post!

BEAUTY FAVORITES

1) Lorac Pro 2 Palette
When I first saw that Lorac was coming out with a new palette I wasn’t quite sure on if I would want to pick it up or not. I do have the original palette which I do love, but I always forget about using that palette. Well with seeing reviews and some beauty blogger’s creations with this palette, I decided to pick it up with my 20% coupon. I really love the cool tone hues in it and of course the fun colors included. The packaging is the same as the original palette, except this one is gray. The palette is very thin and sleek with a magnetic closure and a mirror as well. The shadows are nice and soft, but powdery. So all you need is a light touch otherwise your palette will be a mess. But, that doesn’t bother me too much because I love how soft they are.

IMG_20140830_111340564

2) Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette
Another palette in my monthly favorites! Well…why not? I do love myself some eye-shadow palettes. Too Faced came out with a couple new palettes for the Fall collection, but I decided on this one. This palette is a Sephora exclusive, whereas the Country and Rock & Roll palettes are Ulta exculsives. There was just something about the colors in this palette that made me grab it off the shelf at Sephora. Too Faced is one of my favorite makeup brands, and I feel like this palette doesn’t disappoint. I do wish that Kitty Glitter was more pigmented, but in reality I think it completes the palette as a nice shimmer shade. I used the pink shades in the palette for a nice pink look and then added kitty glitter for some extra shimmer.  With Too Faced shadows once you get past the first layer the shades become more pigmented, especially with Kitty Glitter. In the picture below I am wearing Kitty Glitter to add some extra shimmer.

3) Glo~Minerals Water Resistant Mascara
I have a love-hate relationship with mascara! I seem to be never satisfied with mascara and end up trying new ones all the time. I don’t understand the hype of Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara or Benefit They’re Real mascara. I just hate the application process whether it be too wet, too dry, too clumpy, too sticky, etc. Also, it is hard to find a mascara that keeps my stick straight lashes curled. Also, I like to use more natural nourishing mascaras. A lot of the drug store mascaras and even a lot of the high end mascaras use tar in their formula. I hate the feeling of lashes not feeling like lashes after application. I don’t need my lashes to feel/look like a statue because I decided to coat some tar on them. That is not good for lashes! Sorry end of rant! My salon started carrying this Glo Minerals brand and she recommended that I try this mascara after hearing about my love-hate relationship with mascara. This mascara does not have tar in it so I was happy to hear that. The mascara brush is amazing and so easy to use! I can use the brush vertical and horizontally and coat the lashes. No clumps! No spidery looking lashes either. The formula has the perfect wetness needed. I hate those super wet formulas where it takes 10 millions years to dry! Not for me! Also, my lashes feel like lashes. I have been really impressed with this mascara. I am wearing this mascara in the picture above.

IMG_20140830_111319219_HDR

4) Naked 3 Dual Ended Eyeliner Pencil
I love my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette quite a bit! I am always grabbing for it in my makeup collection. When I saw they had a dual sided 24/7 glide on eye pencil dedicated toward the Naked 3, I knew I needed to pick it up. It comes with the shades Darkside and Blackheart. I especially love the Blackheart shade because I love the red shimmer in it. Urban Decay’s eyeliner pencils are my favorite out of all the brands that I have tried. Sure, I have to sharpen them, but no big deal. I just love the creaminess of them and how easy they are to use. I am always grabbing for this eyeliner especially when I use my Naked 3.

5) Glo Minerals Shimmer Brick in Luster and Texture Brush
I also got this shimmer brick and brush at my local salon. I just wanted something that would give me a natural glow during the summer months. I was recommended by the Glo-Minerals rep to try this. I love it! I can just slightly dust it onto my cheeks and it gives me a healthy glow. It comes with 4 shades in the pan, but I just swirl all 4 shades together with the texture brush. This brush is super soft and it works really well with the application process. I have a Sigma brush like this, but I like this one quite a bit more. It is dense, but not too dense. With that being said, it picks up the perfect amount of product.

IMG_20140830_111103422_HDR

6) Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Rollerball
I have always wanted a full sized (meaning not a rollerball) Marc Jacobs perfume, but I always say no because of the price tag! I love the packaging on his perfumes! Every single one! Especially his newest ones: Daisy Dream, Honey, and Dot. This is my first rollerball from Marc Jacobs as well. I just loved this scent, but couldn’t reason spending the price tag for the full perfume right now. It is nice because I can take it with me because it is travel friendly. I can’t describe the scent very well, but it is very clean and floral smelling. Just go into Sephora or Ulta and see if you like it because everybody has different opinions. But, I quite like it. 🙂 Also, my cousin was here this weekend and she had a rollerball in Honey and omg…amazing! I think that may be the one I get when I get a full sized perfume because the packaging is ADORABLE!

LIFESTYLE FAVORITES (Movies, Books, Games, and Food)

IMG_20140830_111801110

1) The Amazing Spiderman 2
I ❤ Spiderman. This is honestly my favorite out of all the Spiderman movies (including the originals as well). I think that the cast did an amazing job. The story line kept my attention.

2) The Count of Monte Cristo
This is not necessarily a monthly favorite, but my all time favorite movie. I just wanted to share it with you all because you NEED to watch it. It is a little slow in the beginning, but believe me it is amazing. There are many themes in the storyline: friendship, love, betrayal, and revenge.  This is based off of a book written by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. Trust me, go watch it.

3) Aladdin
Aladdin is a good childhood memory of mine. I always loved that movie. I still do! I may be 25, but there is always some room for Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Abu, and of course Rajah in my life. Even before hearing that Robin Williams died, I had watched this a few days prior. Genie is one of my favorite characters in this movie. Robin Williams will be missed.

4) Mario Kart 8
My niece recently came over and we had fun playing this game. I am a big Nintendo fan and one of my favorite games for any Nintendo game system has been Mario Kart. My niece had so much fun playing this game with me.

5) If I Stay Book and Movie
I started this book and was about halfway through it when my friend and I went to the movie. I finished the book afterwards. It was an easy read. Sure, the movie was a little predictable, but it was still a good movie.  Oh how I wish that I could play the cello like that because that was pretty amazing. This book makes a person think about life and how fast it can be changed. Well, it sure made me think about it. Every second in life is important and it is important not to take that for granted. Right now I am reading the second book, “Where She Went.”

6) Trader Joes Chocolate Covered Powerberries
Usually I hate dark chocolate, but in these I love it! They’re sweetened with natural fruit juices such as: acai, pomegranate, blueberry, and cranberry juices. Then they’re covered with smooth dark chocolate. All I can say is….yum!

7) Young & Hungry

I love love love love this show! It makes me laugh! I love those type of shows. This show is aired on ABC Family. The characters in it are awesome together and I just love it.

That concludes this month’s monthly favorites! Comment and let  me know if you have tried any of the products mentioned or if you watch any of the movies or shows I mention. Also, don’t forget to check out the movie “The Count of Monte Cristo.” Hope you all had a wonderful August and have a wonderful September.

Sigma Beauty Smoke Screen Palette Review

eye shadow Sigma Beauty is well known for its makeup brushes, but not as commonly known for their makeup line in the beauty world. Although, I think that Sigma Beauty is getting more and more into the makeup world with them bringing out more and more palettes, blushes, lip-glosses, and even lately gel eyeliners. I was quite impressed with their previous palette which is called, Warm Neutrals,  so when they came out with this Smoke Screen palette, I knew I had to pick it up. If you’re interested on my review of the Warm Neutrals palette you can find that here. Both palettes are still available online and at Sigma Beauty. Sigma Beauty’s flagship store is at Mall of America so I always have to stop in whenever I am at MOA.

What Sigma Beauty says about this palette, “The Sigma Beauty Smoke Screen Eye Shadow Palette features 12 different shades and finishes with cool undertones, perfect that give the ability to transform your look from desk to dancing. Each shade is represented by sophisticated neutrals to bold brights offset by dark, dusty hues. Paraben-free.” More information found here

Price: $39.00

PACKAGING

The Smoke Screen palette comes with the same look and feel as the Warm Neutrals palette. It comes with an outer white sleeve that I already threw away. I don’t see a point in keeping it.

IMG_1304

Here is the back of the outer sleeve showing the colors shades, the ingredients, and amount of product included.

IMG_1305

The actual palette itself is nice and sturdy. I really like the sleek look of it. The Sigma logo makes it look nice and high quality. The palette does have a magnetic closure.

IMG_1306

This is what the back of the palette looks like. It shows the shades, amount of product, and that it was made in China.

IMG_1312

It comes with a nice sized mirror, but the mirror does not stay up by itself.

IMG_1307

Overall, I am quite impressed with the packaging. I do like that they went with the same packaging look as with the Warm Neutrals palette.

THE EYE SHADOWS

This palette has an amazing array of colors and finishes. I do not have any other palettes quite like this. This palette is perfect for creating smokey eye looks. They also included some fun shades like the lavender shade and of course the amazing blue shade. Nobody says that smokey eyes can’t be fun! 😀 Each shadow is imprinted with Sigma Beauty which I think is cool, but over time that disappears.

FORMULA & MY THOUGHTS I love this palette because I find it to be very unique. It has quite a few different shades that I have never seen in other palettes. Some of my favorites shades include: nebula, opulent, svelte, and rave. Nebula is pretty amazing and I loved using it in my look down below. Also, I think that Svelte is super unique with its olive tones. The formula is just like the Warm Neutrals one. I feel like they have improved their formula quite a bit compared to some previous palettes of theirs. The shadows are very easy to work with. They’re very pigmented, blendable, and soft. They’re aren’t powdery which is nice, but some of the glittery shades have a little fall-out. Pros

  • Highly pigmented
  • Easy to work with
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Unique and fun shades
  • Paraben free!

Cons

  • Price, although I don’t personally think it is all that bad compared to other palettes out on the market.
  • Mirror doesn’t stand up
  • Glittery shades have some fall-out
  • Not available in a lot of stores so hard to find unless purchasing online.

With that, I hope that you enjoyed this post! Do you have this palette? What do you think of it? Comment and let me know if you enjoy my palette reviews and what palette review you would like to see next. Hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend!

Kat Von D Monarch Eye Shadow Palette Review

eye shadow

I blame YouTube and Kat Von D herself for me buying the butterfly eye shadow palette collection. Awhile back, Sephora’s YouTube channel had released a video of Kat Von D herself introducing her two new palettes. The two palettes from this collection are called Monarch and Chrysalis. If you have been following me, it may be no surprise to you that I love palettes. So I had to jump on the opportunity to purchase them. I first will be doing the Monarch palette review and then soon after I will be doing the Chrysalis review.

A SEPHORA OVERVIEW
All information down below in italics can be found on the Sephora site found here.

What it is: An alluring, warm-toned eyeshadow palette with a stunning composition of colors—three large base shades and nine transformative accent hues—for a spectrum of stunning eye looks.

What it does: From delicate to daring, experience a rebirth of color and explore endless eye looks with the Monarch Eyeshadow Palette. Featuring warm-toned shades in an ingenious arrangement that gives you the biggest basics and the most accent hues, now you’ll have the freedom to create your heart out without running out of the go-to colors. Relish in the luxurious texture of triple-milled powder, which picks up instantly and lays down with a one-sweep, full-coverage application. The patented Power Last™, long-wearing formula gives you buildable, from dawn-to-dusk drama, while an infusion of antioxidants including rose extract and vitamins A, C, and E all work to keep your eyelids hydrated and protected.

What else you need to know: Inspired by the metamorphosis of the butterfly, Kat created this palette to give you endless ways to transform your eyes every day. The palette is decorated with original artwork derived from her love of butterflies—a symbol of rebirth and renewal. Follow Kat’s tutorials for tips and inspiration.

PACKAGING

Something about Kat Von D’s palettes are they all have amazing packaging!  With Kat Von D being an artist herself, she of course designs her own palettes covers. You can tell that she spends a lot of time perfecting each and every detail of her design. This palette cover is probably one of my favorites of the ones I have seen of her brand. I love butterflies! I even have a tattoo of a butterfly. I feel like a butterfly symbolizes freedom because it has the ability to fly wherever it wants to. Maybe, that sounds cheesy, but that is what my tattoo symbolizes to me. Anyway, the cover has a monarch butterfly on it as you can see in the photo below. The cover to this palette is so very her, especially since she added the skulls to the end of the butterfly wings. The back of the palette has a lot of detail in it as well because on each side of the names there is the same butterfly wings. This palette feels very sturdy and does have a magnetic closure. I know I heard a lot of people were upset that it wasn’t her usual tin packaging. Well, I actually like this cardboard type of packaging over her normal tin. The inside of the palette has a nice sized mirror which isn’t that important to me because I never use those mirrors. But, it would be nice for travel purposes.

IMG_20140506_164427340

PRICING AND SIZE

The price of this palette is $46.00 which is expensive, but most palettes from Sephora are around that price range. That is because it is more of a “prestige” brand. Also, remember that this is a Sephora only exclusive brand. You can either buy it in store or online. Also, with the always moving makeup industry this palette won’t be available for much longer. I assume she is working on her next palette by now. It is crazy that some makeup brands are already bringing out Fall 2014 collections! Aaaahhh…. slow down! It is still Summer!

On the back of the palette it says, “Keep your look ever-changing, highlight eyes with 3 textural bases and accentuate with 9 transformative colors.” According to Sephora the amount of shadows included are: 3 x 0.095 oz and 9 x 0.049 oz. Those are pretty nice sizes if you ask me. More information found here

THE SHADES
This palette comes with a bunch of different finishes and shades. This is a very warm toned palette with brown, gold, copper, and orange shades. This palette has shimmery, pearl, and matte finishes as well. Because of that, there is a multitude of looks that a person could come up with using this palette.  I am horrible at describing colors, so I am showing you the descriptions off of Sephora’s website for each of the shades. I would try and describe them, but I feel like the most important part of the review is the use and ease of the shadows.

FORMULATION

What I love about eye shadow is each makeup brand has a different formulation for their shadows. Some are better than others and some are more expensive than others as well. But, pricing doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Something that I noticed about the formula from this palette is that they’re super soft. Due to the softness, it makes them very powdery.  If you put too much on your brush the shadow will go everywhere. So what I recommend is a light hand. With that being said, I really do enjoy the formula. The shadows being powdery does not bother me at all because they’re soft and easy to work with. It does have some fall out so usually I do my foundation afterwards. But, the fallout isn’t terrible either. The shadows are super pigmented so only a little amount is needed. My favorite shades are the first 3 of the tranformative shadows: wrath, papillo, and summerfly. Using those shadows creates a gorgeous look! Another thing that I love about this palette is that it is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. That is a big time pro for me!  I think that this palette is perfect for Fall, but in all reality could be used all year around.

PROS

  • Gorgeous and unique packaging
  • Softness of shadows
  • Pigmentation
  • Only need a tiny amount so palette will last a long time
  • Size/amount of shadows included
  • Study palette with mirror included
  • Paraben, sulfate, and phthlate free
  • Made in the USA

CONS

  • Price
  • Powdery
  • Limited Edition
  • Only available through Sephora

A RANDOM FOTD

Overall, I highly recommend picking up this palette if you get the chance. This is such a fun warm toned palette and I have had a lot of fun creating looks using it. So far, I am quite impressed with Kat Von D’s makeup brand. Recently, I picked up one of her blushers so that review will be coming up soon. Comment down below if you have this palette or are thinking about picking it up. I love reading your comments!

Day 26!! Get Ready with Me: A Girl’s Night Out Blog Hop!!!

Can you believe that April is coming to an end?!? That is crazy! But, I have a happy feeling with that, because I actually wore sandals today. It felt amazing! Absolutely amazing! Hopefully Spring is here to stay! This lovely blog hop was lead by the amazing Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner. Jacquelyn, a few other ladies, and I, decided to post a blog hop, “Get Ready with Me: Girl’s Night Out.” Aaah the agony of deciding what palette to use?!? Yes, I may be a little bit of a palette addict! I decided to go with my newest palette by Too Faced which is the Chocolate Bar palette. Let me tell you this….not only do I love this palette, but it smells amazing! Sometimes I just open it again, just so I can get a whiff of chocolate.

Part 1

Prime those eyes! I used Urban Decay primer potion as my primer, then added a Maybelline color tattoo over and blended it out.

Part 2: The fun part! The Shadow!

Step 1: Open the palette and smell the amazing chocolate scent!

IMG_20140425_123505548

Step 2: Take a flat shader brush and apply the color Marzipan onto the inner half of the eyelid.

IMG_20140425_123552913

Step 3: Take another flat shader brush or flip the current brush around and take Haute Chocolate and place that shade on the outer half of the eyelid.

Step 4: Take a crease brush and add the shade Milk Chocolate into the crease. Make sure to blend, blend, blend!

IMG_20140425_123943429

At the end of these steps you should have something like this!

Step 5: Take a pencil brush with the shade Black Forest Truffle and add some definition to the outer V and blend a little bit of that shade into the crease. This shade has some sparkles and is very pretty!

Step 6: Take a blending brush and take the shade White Chocolate and apply it below the eyebrow and blend out the harsh lines of Milk Chocolate.

Step 7: Take the Overshadow in Work is Overrated from The Balm and apply it all over the lid for some extra shimmer! Perfect for a night out!

Step 8: Take the shade Champagne Truffle and apply it in the inner corner by the tear duct.

Part 3: Eyeliner, Mascara, Face, and Lips

Step 9: Add liquid eyeliner! I used my Collection eyeliner from the UK!

IMG_20140425_125133316

Step 10: I did not like the liquid eyeliner for this look because I felt like it was too harsh, but adding Black Forest Truffle really softened up the look. I used a pencil brush to apply the shadow.

Step 11:  Apply mascara!

Step 12: Put on that face!

I love my Sigma F80 for applying foundation! It gives me a flawless finish!

Love this concealer that I got in my box swap! Thanks Effie!

IMG_20140425_130333380

Step 13: Apply blush and highlighter! I didn’t contour, even though I probably should have for a night out look. I have yet to find a good brush for that, so I usually shy away from bronzer powders at the moment.

Step 14: Finishing Powder!

IMG_20140425_130550258

I use this brush to set my concealer because it fits perfectly under my eye area.

Step 15: Pout those lips!

I got this Cailyn product from my Ipsy bag and this Julep lipgloss from a few Julep Maven boxes back.

Step 16: Add those finishing touches!

The Final Look

I could not get the camera to capture the actually look. In the photos you can’t see the shimmer! 😦  I need to figure out a way to capture my makeup looks more effectively!

The lip products faded throughout the day, so here are some pictures with a different lip!

That concludes this Get Ready with Me post! I know it was more like a tutorial! I decided to just do my makeup! Although, a big part of a girl’s night out would include fashion, hair and nails!!! Comment and let me know what you thought! Also, have you tried the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette!?!?

Day 21: What I would buy if I had $500-$1000 to spend on beauty products…

I saw this post idea from Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner and I decided that I would do this post too! She said that she would love for others to do this post as well, so here it goes! This probably isn’t helping my no buy, but I still wanted to share this post with you! If you haven’t checked out her blog make sure to do so. You can check it out here. Maybe someday I would win a shopping spree from Sephora or Ulta. Lol, big dreaming!

1) Alex Drawer Unity with 9 drawers from IKEA $119.00

I hate disorganization! I hate how I have my makeup stored now! This lovely beauty is very popular among the Youtubers and makeup enthusiasts. I would just love to have all my items stored in one space. I would use this for more than just makeup such as: nail polishes, skincare (Lush bath bombs), hair accessories, and much more. I’ve never been to an IKEA before. My brother and sister in law love IKEA and if they decide to go to the cities and ask me to go with, I WILL be picking this up.  Monica Geller from Friends would be so proud of this!

2) Urban Decay Electric Palette $49.99

This palette just has a lot of fun colors! I’ve seen the swatches of the colors and they look amazing! It is definitely not an everyday palette, but it would be a fun one to have. This palette would be perfect for those pop of color looks.

3) Meet Matt(e) Nude by The Balm $42

The Balm is one of my favorite brands. I do have a few The Balm palettes, but I actually don’t have this one. I got this palette during a 50% sale that they were having and I sent this palette to the UK for my box swap! I felt like Stephanie (Effie) really needed to try out this brand.

4) The Balm Powder to the People Brush in Crease, Love, & Happiness $24.50

I love this brush! I used to have this brush, but sadly Mirya got a hold of it! This is a reason why the IKEA drawer would be nice! I love the crease brush because it fits perfectly into my crease.

5) INSTAIN Long Wearing Powder Staining Blush by The Balm $22.00

I got a sample of this blush in a different color  in a Birchbox.  I was very impressed with the pigmentation and longevity. I really like the color that I posted down below called Argyle.

6) Ambient Lighting Palette by Hourglass from Sephora $58.00

I have heard so much about these powders! They have so many great reviews, but the price tag sure is large. It is cool that they came out with this combo palette.

7) Ambient Lighting Blush $35.00

I did see these at Sephora when I was at Mall of America. They felt amazing when I swatched them. I just couldn’t get over the price tag. But, that is Hourglass. I would have to re-swatch all the colors and decide which one I would get, but right now I am loving the look of Ethereal Glow with is a cool pink (shown in the photo below). Apparently these blushes are blended together with the powders described above making for a flawless face.

8) Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library by Bite Beauty $49.00

I really want to try something from Bite Beauty. Apparently this brand is all natural and made with food grade ingredients. They do this because apparently overtime we consume quite a bit of lip products! Coffee Break with Dani on YouTube just did a Bite Beauty haul and all the things she got were gorgeous!

9) Luminous Creme Lipstick by Bite Beauty $24.00

I of course would love to try their lipsticks as well. I’m not sure on what color yet, but most likely neutral or pink. I would have to re-watch that video from Coffee Break with Dani because there was a color that she got that I absolutely loved. The color I posted below is Ballet Pink and I think it looks gorgeous!

10) Glamglow THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment $69.00

These masks are super expensive, but receive a lot awesome reviews! I would get the hydrating treatment because I have dry skin. Although, I probably will never ever buy this because of the price tag, but it is still fun to look.

11) Sigma Beauty The Perfect Blend Kit $63.00

I would love to try this brush kit because I want blending brushes to make for easier application. I really love Sigma brushes so I would love to try this set.

12) Return of Sexy palette by Too Faced $49.99

This palette looks gorgeous! My sister in law just got this palette and she loves it! It has a lot of nice colors included. It also includes a eyeliner and a shadow insurance.

13) Makeup Geek Eyeshadows $5.99 each

I have heard so many amazing things about Makeup Geek shadows. A ton of people said that I need to try these shadows including an old roommate. I really want to try them and see what all the hype is about. They seem to be really affordable with being $5.99 each. There is an amazing range of colors! I am in love with this mermaid color. I posted a few more colors that I thought looked amazing! Photos found here.

 14) Lime Crime Fantasy Palette in Palette D’Antoninette $35.00

I have heard many amazing things about Lime Crime! I especially love the look of this palette. I love the bright pastel colors.

15) i-Divine Palettes by Sleek Makeup $11.99 each

I was really impressed with the Sleek palette that I got in my box swap. I of course lusted over the other palettes after I was so impressed with the Storm palette. Make sure to check out my review on that palette if you haven’t already. Pictures found on their website here. Pretty much all their palettes are amazing, but here are a few of my favorites!

Garden of Eden

i-Candy

Del Mar

Well I decided that I am going to stop at #15. I guess I’m not exactly sure what my total is, but I know that is is close. Obviously, I would never get all of this, but it was sure fun to share all the amazing products out there! Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products!

I hope everybody had an amazing Easter! I worked during the weekend so I plan on getting together with my family next weekend for a Easter/April birthdays combo celebration!
