Day 2: March 2014 Favorites!

Time for another favorites post! I am in shock that it is April!!! In shock! March was a fun month because I did a international box swap to the UK! As you will see some of those items made it into my March favorites! This month was also a really hard month for me. My boyfriend and I decided to part ways. It has been hard. I’m very thankful that my family and friends have been there for me. They mean the world to me!

Well let’s get into the products!!

1) Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette
No surprise that this palette is in my monthly favorites! I used this palette quite a bit this month! This was my first time using anything from Sleek. I love this palette and it’s amazing colors!!! Make sure to check out my review on this palette here if you want to see the lovely swatches and my FOTDs!

2) Sleek Blusher in Coral
I also have been loving this blusher from Sleek. It gives such a nice color to the cheeks without it being too overpowering. I also did a review on this blusher, so make sure to check it out here.

3) Katy Perry Killer Queen Perfume
I love this perfume! I got it awhile ago! I love the scent of this perfume! You can buy this perfume on Katy Perry’s Official Fragrance site here, and also at Sephora or Ulta. I got mine at Sephora. According the Katy Perry Fragrance’s Official site, the top notes include dark plum, wild berries and bergamot, the middle notes include red velvet flower, rainbow plumeria and natural jasmine sambac, and the bottom notes includes cashmeran, natural patchouli heart and liquid praline. I just think that this perfume smells really sweet and fruity, but also fresh and floral. The packaging is a little different because it lies on its side, but I like it because of its uniqueness. Yesterday my mom surprised me with a roller-ball in this perfume because it was on clearance at Kohls! Thanks mum! Now I have one for my purse.

4) Tree Hut Shea Body Butter
I got this in my Beauty Box 5 this month and I have been loving it! I got it in the scent Coconut Lime. It is super moisturizing and it does smell amazing! It is surprising to me that I like it so much, because I usually shy away from coconuts. Adding the lime to the coconut scent adds a nice touch that I think makes it perfect! This is my first Tree Hut product so I was pleasantly surprised! If you want to see what other products I got in my Beauty Box 5 check out my post here.

5) Pacifica Lip Tint in Guava Berry
There is no surprise that this is in my monthly favorites! It is my go-to lip product! This lip tint is well on its way to becoming a holy grail! Actually, it is already a holy grail! I did get more colors during my recent haul, so I will be posting a full review on those sometime this month. Love these lip tints <3!

Scrubs

Decided to include this scrub top in my monthly favorites! Whenever I work I have to wear scrubs, so I always like to get fun scrubs like this one. I did work on St. Patrick’s Day and I got a lot of comments about my scrub top from both patients and coworkers. I love Snoopy!

The M&M Sisters Favorites!
You’re probably wondering….umm what does that mean? You’re probably thinking of M&M candies right now! Nope I say this because I have this thing where I name my pets with a letter M. It all started with Maddie. My parents surprised my brothers and I when I was in 9th grade with a little west highland white terrier puppy. My family has always loved that breed! I decided to name her Maddie Mae. In 2011 I decided to adopt a cat from the Humane Society. I wanted a short haired cat and that is where I found Molly. She was already named Molly. I decided to give her the middle name Mae. I got my Shiba Inu Mirya in October of 2013. I decided that she also needed a M name to go along with Mae. I decided on Mirya. So now they all have the same initials MM making them the M&M sisters. Lol! Yes, I’m a dork! Anyway onto their favorites!

Mirya & Maddie always love fighting over the same toy. They go around in circles and circles playing tug a war. Here are some of the toys that they love!

IMG_1456

Here are some treats that they have been loving! I know the picture is blurry, but look at Mirya’s tongue.

IMG_1458

Molly has been loving these new treats that I got for her. The first ingredient is tuna instead of chicken by product! They’re grain free and a lot more healthier for her than her normal Temptations treats(chicken by product meal is the first ingredient). She also has been loving this little mouse, well as long as Mirya doesn’t try to steal it.

Movies

I went to the movie Divergent with my family, even though I didn’t finish the book. I really liked the movie! It is definitely out there and a little different. Not a movie my grandmother would like, but all in all I loved it! I of course got Catching Fire and Frozen on blue-ray. I love the movie Frozen, like a lot of people lol! I wonder how much Disney made off of this movie?!? My niece is super active and she even sits and watches this movie from start to finish. She is 2 years old and also claps at the end. My older niece who is going to be 6 loves this movie as well and is going to have a Frozen themed birthday party in April. My sister in law said that they always sing the songs. My older niece would sing, “Arendelle is in deep deep” and the younger niece finished with “snow.” I was also excited for the Catching Fire release because I read the Hunger Games books and love the movies.

TV Shows
I started watching the show Resurrection on ABC. It is a really different show than what I am used to, but it definitely keeps my interest.
I of course have been loving my ABC Family shows, especially Switched at Birth. Although, I’m upset with ABC Family for changing their viewing options. (Have to link with cable provider on abcfamily.com or on Hulu to watch!) They have hardly any provider options so that is even more annyoing! Sorry for my little rant!
Once Upon a Time In Wonderland is one of my favorite shows! I heard that this show was canceled! ABC always does this to me! They canceled, Off the Map after a huge cliffhanger! I think that show is way better than Grey’s Anatomy. Seems like shows that I end up really liking they end up canceling! Sad I won’t get to see more of Alice and Cyrus.

Books

I’m doing horrible at the New Years Resolution on reading more. Sad to say I didn’t read a full book this month! I am still working on reading, “Divergent.” Now after seeing the movie, I want to read all the books, because I want to see what happens!!!

Hope that you enjoyed this monthly favorites! Let me know if you have tried any of these products! Also, have you watched any of these movies or these shows? What books have you read this month?

1) Naked 3 by Urban Decay

http://www.urbandecay.com/urban-decay/eye-makeup/naked3/409.html

What Urban Decay says, “It’s finally here: the long-awaited follow-up Naked and Naked2 (two of the industry’s all-time bestselling palettes)! And this time around, we’re giving you a dozen NEW ways to get Naked. (Yes, we loaded this palette with 12 NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN shades.)”

I am in love with this palette! I can create beautiful rose gold looks with it! The colors are gorgeous! If you want to see my review on all the Naked palettes check it out here.

2) CabanaBoy Blush by The Balm

CabanaBoy®

What the Balm says, “Nothing is more satisfying than being indulged, and this dusty-rose blush will ensure that you have all the boys attending to you. Its subtle shimmer catches the eye while plum undertones provide a glow that is oh-so-natural whether you are pool-side, beach-side or bed-side. “

I think that this is the perfect Winter blush color. It is a nice berry/rose color and I think it is gorgeous! The thing with The Balm blushes is that they’re super pigmented, so this blush only needs a light brush. The packaging is cute too!

3) They’re Real! Mascara by Benefit

http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/product/view/theyre-real

What Benefit says, “They’re real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

I got this sample from my birthday gift from Sephora. So far I really like it. It helps curl my lashes and it also doesn’t smudge as bad as other mascaras that I’ve tried. It is pretty easier to remove when using my Purity 3 in 1 cleanser. Love that stuff!

4) Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Stargazer by Stila Cosmetics

http://www.stilacosmetics.com/product/smudge+stick+waterproof+eye+liner.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=Search

What Stila says, “Our bestselling Smudge Sticks are now available in an array of matte, shimmer and pop hues that hold tight. Made with a cocktail of moisturizing ingredients, including vitamin E, color glides on smooth (no tugging or pulling) in a waterproof formula that won’t budge or fade. With 31 gorgeous shades to pick from, discover intense & immediate color payoff in a single swipe! “

I really love this color because it isn’t a straight out black. It is a black and gold with silver pearl. It also stays on all day without any smudging. It is also really easy to apply which is a big pro!

5) Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer  by The Balm

http://www.thebalm.com/balmshelter.html

What The Balm says, “This weightless, silky-smooth tinted moisturizer with SPF 18 offers sun protection for everyday drama while helping to improve the look of your skin’s tone and texture, leaving you with a polished complexion.”

I am still loving this product! It gives me a nice coverage and hides the redness that I have. I like to use this on “lazy makeup” days where I don’t feel like using foundation. I think that the color light is perfect for me because it does oxidize a bit over time.

6) Origami Owl Locket Necklace

http://www.origamiowl.com/

I’ve been loving my locket that I got for my birthday! I think that Bella (the girl that invented this company) was super creative with this amazing locket idea. They have a new Valentine’s Collection that I think looks lovely!

7) Mirya & Molly’s Monthly Favorites!

Hippo Dog toy from Petco
Mouse Cat toy from Wal-Mart

Mirya has been loving this purple hippo! It makes a fun little squeak that she loves. Molly loves tossing this little mouse around! Well as long as Mirya doesn’t get it in the process!

8) The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

http://nicholassparks.com/

I am a big Nicholas Sparks fan! I have read all of his books and I always read his new ones when they come out. These past few months were crazy busy so I never found time to read this until this month. It was such a cute story! It is a story about 2 different couples. It starts out with a elderly man who got into an accident. As he waits for help he reminisces about his life and his love story with his wife Ruth. The other couple is during present day. These couples end up connecting in the end. I won’t tell you more than that because I think that it is a worth while read if you love Nicholas Sparks or romance novels.

9) Movies

The only movie I saw in theaters this month was Labor Day.

Check out more information on this movie here.

“Follows a 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.”

I did like it, but I don’t think that it will be a must buy for me when it comes out on DVD/blue-ray. I will rent this movie when it does come out. I do recommend seeing it at least, because it defiantly is a good movie.

10) TV Shows

This month I have been loving both, “Switched at Birth” and “The Fosters.” I love watching ABC Family shows. I can’t wait until Monday nights when both these shows come on! Switched at Birth is about 2 girls that were well…switched at birth! The Fosters is about a girl named Callie who is in the foster system with her brother and they go to live with this family.

With that, I hope everybody has a wonderful day!
