Day 7: My Weekend & an Ulta Sale

I just wanted to share with you all what I did during this past weekend because it was a lot of fun! I also postponed my no-buy because of the Ulta sale. I know I know! My no-buy post will be coming up tomorrow so make sure to check that out. Anyway so this past weekend my parents planned on going to go to my brother and sister in law’s house to watch my 2 nieces because they had to go to the cities. I decided to go with. I don’t get to see my nieces as often as I would like because we live 1 hr and 20 minutes away which isn’t that bad, but still life gets busy. So I jumped on the opportunity to go visit them. I also brought Mirya with. Maddie went over to my grandmas. She gets car sick. My grandma also checked on Molly while we were gone.

Saturday
Of course we watched Frozen! But, we decided to get into character which was fun! My older niece dressed up as Elsa and my younger niece was Anna. I feel like they make a perfect Elsa and Anna. Comment if you agree?!?

Elsa and anna

They of course sang along and danced to the songs. My brother said, “Frozen is a movie that has really paid for itself, they have watched it a million times.”

Then my other brother and my sister in law picked me up and we went out for supper. We also made a few stops at some stores which is where I decided to postpone my no buy. I really wanted to get some dotting tools for nail art. I couldn’t find them anywhere in my hometown. We went to a huge craft store because I thought I could find them there, nope. They had a bunch of nail polish, but the lady there looked at me like I was making up the fact that there was such things as dotting tools. My brother is very smart because he piped up and said, “isn’t there a store at the mall?” Of course! Sally’s Beauty Supply. We went there and I got exactly what I wanted. We also went to Petsmart and got a harness for Miss Mirya Mae. She also got 2 toys. Can’t go to Petsmart and not get toys! Mirya and Molly also got tags for their collars. After supper we went back to their house for a bit and talked, then went back to my other brothers house. My nieces were already asleep at that time so we all sat downstairs and talked and watched some tv. I love family time!

Sunday

Spring is here! It was so nice outside. Of course there is still a lot of snow outside, but it was 50F-60F outside. That made for a lot of snow meltage. I don’t think that is a word, but I’m going with it. There were a ton of kids playing outside in my brothers neighborhood. We decided to test out Mirya’s harness and we all went for a walk/wagon ride. My brother and sister in law came back from the cities around lunch time. I also let my niece do my makeup, which is something that she was super ecstatic about. I will be posting that post sometime this month. 🙂 Mirya had a lot of fun outside going for a walk, although all the commotion outside was very overstimulating for her. On our way home we stopped at Ulta for their 20% sale. Darn Ulta and their sale tempting me. Therefore, I am postponing my no-buy! All I can say is April Fools! Lol! Also, I decided to go back to Petsmart because I wanted to get the matching leash that matched her harness. The day before I had forgotten to pick one up. I also wanted to bring her in the store because that is what pet people do that live by a Petsmart. I live an hour or so away and I had Mirya with so why not? Mirya was such a good pup inside and she met a few other puppies! She even got another toy or 2! I of course picked up a toy for Molly.

Mirya and her new harness!

On our way home, Mirya is so tired!

What I got from Sally’s Beauty Supply

  • ASP Nail Art 4 Pack Brush Set: thought these nail brushes would come in handy for doing nail art as well.
  • Cina Nail Art Marble Dotting Tool: this is what I was looking for! Finally I was able to find some! There is a variety of sizes so that will come in handy!
  • Beauty Secrets Nail Polish & Art Wheels: thought these would come in handy with practicing nail art.
  • Hands Down Ultra Nail Pads: thought these would be useful because they’re a pad that you can use without getting all that cotton all over. Sometimes my nails get ruined because a tiny bit of cotton from the cotton balls/pads get on my nail. These are super nice because there is a nice little tab and 1 of these can be used to remove all 10 nails of nail polish.
  • I also got a nail streamer polish set off of Amazon awhile ago so I’m all set with nail art!

IMG_1588[1]

What I got from Ulta

  • Butter London Nail Lacquer in Lovely Jubbly: I blame this purchase on The Feminine Files! If you haven’t check out her blog you should because she is amazing! You can find her blog post on this polish here. I just thought that the color was gorgeous! I have never tried a Butter London polish so I am super excited!
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil: I got the color Uzi because I needed a nice gray eyeliner. I has some shimmer in it and I just loved the swatch.
  • Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick: I saw a YouTube video on these and I wanted to try out the neutral color. So I got mine is the color Melted Nude. I was also really impressed with the swatch.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette: I was debating on either this palette or the new Urban Decay electric palette. Yes, I know they’re on totally opposite sides of the spectrum. I decided on this one, because I will get more use out of this one and plus it smells like chocolate! I also saw a picture of an eye look that Xparkage made with this palette and it looked gorgeous! I’ve also seen a ton of amazing reviews on this gem!

IMG_1586[1]

Remember during my last haul, I told you I was ordering the Pantone Universe color of the year palette! Well so far I’m loving it! Review to come!

So as you can tell I had a fun weekend! It went by way to fast! My weekends off always go by way too fast. Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of my adorable nieces as Elsa and Anna. What did you do this past weekend! Also, don’t forget to check out my GIVEAWAY post! You can find it here. Also don’t forget that there will be 30 days of The Beauty Deputy which started April 1st. #30daysofthebeautydeputy

Day 2: March 2014 Favorites!

Time for another favorites post! I am in shock that it is April!!! In shock! March was a fun month because I did a international box swap to the UK! As you will see some of those items made it into my March favorites! This month was also a really hard month for me. My boyfriend and I decided to part ways. It has been hard. I’m very thankful that my family and friends have been there for me. They mean the world to me!

Well let’s get into the products!!

IMG_1449

1) Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette
No surprise that this palette is in my monthly favorites! I used this palette quite a bit this month! This was my first time using anything from Sleek. I love this palette and it’s amazing colors!!! Make sure to check out my review on this palette here if you want to see the lovely swatches and my FOTDs!

IMG_1450

2) Sleek Blusher in Coral
I also have been loving this blusher from Sleek. It gives such a nice color to the cheeks without it being too overpowering. I also did a review on this blusher, so make sure to check it out here.

IMG_1451

3) Katy Perry Killer Queen Perfume
I love this perfume! I got it awhile ago! I love the scent of this perfume! You can buy this perfume on Katy Perry’s Official Fragrance site here, and also at Sephora or Ulta. I got mine at Sephora. According the Katy Perry Fragrance’s Official site, the top notes include dark plum, wild berries and bergamot, the middle notes include red velvet flower, rainbow plumeria and natural jasmine sambac, and the bottom notes includes cashmeran, natural patchouli heart and liquid praline. I just think that this perfume smells really sweet and fruity, but also fresh and floral. The packaging is a little different because it lies on its side, but I like it because of its uniqueness. Yesterday my mom surprised me with a roller-ball in this perfume because it was on clearance at Kohls! Thanks mum! Now I have one for my purse.

IMG_1454

4) Tree Hut Shea Body Butter
I got this in my Beauty Box 5 this month and I have been loving it! I got it in the scent Coconut Lime. It is super moisturizing and it does smell amazing! It is surprising to me that I like it so much, because I usually shy away from coconuts. Adding the lime to the coconut scent adds a nice touch that I think makes it perfect! This is my first Tree Hut product so I was pleasantly surprised! If you want to see what other products I got in my Beauty Box 5 check out my post here.

IMG_1452

5) Pacifica Lip Tint in Guava Berry
There is no surprise that this is in my monthly favorites! It is my go-to lip product! This lip tint is well on its way to becoming a holy grail! Actually, it is already a holy grail! I did get more colors during my recent haul, so I will be posting a full review on those sometime this month. Love these lip tints <3!

IMG_1453

Scrubs

Decided to include this scrub top in my monthly favorites! Whenever I work I have to wear scrubs, so I always like to get fun scrubs like this one. I did work on St. Patrick’s Day and I got a lot of comments about my scrub top from both patients and coworkers. I love Snoopy!

IMG_1462

The M&M Sisters Favorites!
You’re probably wondering….umm what does that mean? You’re probably thinking of M&M candies right now! Nope I say this because I have this thing where I name my pets with a letter M. It all started with Maddie. My parents surprised my brothers and I when I was in 9th grade with a little west highland white terrier puppy. My family has always loved that breed! I decided to name her Maddie Mae. In 2011 I decided to adopt a cat from the Humane Society. I wanted a short haired cat and that is where I found Molly. She was already named Molly. I decided to give her the middle name Mae. I got my Shiba Inu Mirya in October of 2013. I decided that she also needed a M name to go along with Mae. I decided on Mirya. So now they all have the same initials MM making them the M&M sisters. Lol! Yes, I’m a dork! Anyway onto their favorites!

Mirya & Maddie always love fighting over the same toy. They go around in circles and circles playing tug a war. Here are some of the toys that they love!

IMG_1461

IMG_1456

Here are some treats that they have been loving! I know the picture is blurry, but look at Mirya’s tongue.

IMG_1458

Molly has been loving these new treats that I got for her. The first ingredient is tuna instead of chicken by product! They’re grain free and a lot more healthier for her than her normal Temptations treats(chicken by product meal is the first ingredient). She also has been loving this little mouse, well as long as Mirya doesn’t try to steal it.

IMG_1457

Movies

I went to the movie Divergent with my family, even though I didn’t finish the book. I really liked the movie! It is definitely out there and a little different. Not a movie my grandmother would like, but all in all I loved it! I of course got Catching Fire and Frozen on blue-ray. I love the movie Frozen, like a lot of people lol! I wonder how much Disney made off of this movie?!? My niece is super active and she even sits and watches this movie from start to finish. She is 2 years old and also claps at the end. My older niece who is going to be 6 loves this movie as well and is going to have a Frozen themed birthday party in April. My sister in law said that they always sing the songs. My older niece would sing, “Arendelle is in deep deep” and the younger niece finished with “snow.” I was also excited for the Catching Fire release because I read the Hunger Games books and love the movies.

IMG_1455

TV Shows
I started watching the show Resurrection on ABC. It is a really different show than what I am used to, but it definitely keeps my interest.
I of course have been loving my ABC Family shows, especially Switched at Birth. Although, I’m upset with ABC Family for changing their viewing options. (Have to link with cable provider on abcfamily.com or on Hulu to watch!) They have hardly any provider options so that is even more annyoing! Sorry for my little rant!
Once Upon a Time In Wonderland is one of my favorite shows! I heard that this show was canceled! ABC always does this to me! They canceled, Off the Map after a huge cliffhanger! I think that show is way better than Grey’s Anatomy. Seems like shows that I end up really liking they end up canceling! Sad I won’t get to see more of Alice and Cyrus.

Books

I’m doing horrible at the New Years Resolution on reading more. Sad to say I didn’t read a full book this month! I am still working on reading, “Divergent.” Now after seeing the movie, I want to read all the books, because I want to see what happens!!!

Hope that you enjoyed this monthly favorites! Let me know if you have tried any of these products! Also, have you watched any of these movies or these shows? What books have you read this month?

Books

I didn’t get to read many books this year. I read a few but none of them stuck out in my mind. I am currently reading the new Nicholas Sparks book. I will share with you my favorite book at least.

I am relaxing at home right now until my boyfriend gets home from work. Hopefully that will be before the clock strikes midnight! Right now it is -17 F below (earlier it was -20 F) so I did enjoy myself a cup of hot cocoa! I did miss the marshmallows in it!  😦
Tomorrow I plan to post, “TAG: Best of 2013.” Then December Favorites soon after that!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

A few little things….Need input!

I have a question for my followers. Are my blog posts showing up on the reader? I am just wondering because I recently did a post on Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen inspired makeup and haven’t received much feedback. I have asked a few followers and they said that they did not see it on their reader and that they weren’t receiving emails either. Comment down below and let me know.
A few little extra things I wanted to include…

902578_769285839755053_1658527715_o

Just wanted to post this picture from Disney’s Frozen because if you look closely you can see Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert from Disney’s Tangled. I just wanted to post that so if you go to the movie you can pay attention because I don’t remember seeing them when I went.

Also, I just thought that this was cool. I live in Minnesota and I have been to Mall of America many times. This post makes me proud to be a Minnesotan! It’s about a person named Zach Sobiech that got cancer and wrote a song called, “Clouds” which is him basically saying goodbye. This song became very popular and was number 1 on Itunes. Which it honestly is an amazing song. Sadly he did pass. Well not too long ago 5,000 people got together and sang this song at Mall of America. There is a video on the link. Just take a look because it is pretty amazing!

One last thing is that it is now snowing on my blog. I think that is awesome!

Elsa Inspired Makeup from Disney’s Frozen!!

People who know me may know that I am in love with Disney! I may be 25 next week, but I never think I will be too old to love the amazing movies that Disney creates. I love the creativity behind them! The most recent Disney movie that came out is called, “Frozen.” I did love this movie! I thought it was very well done with the animation and I loved the story line. But, on a makeup lover’s perspective I noticed that wow…these characters have really amazing makeup. So I decided to do a inspired makeup look. If you don’t know much about this movie. It is about 2 sisters, one named Anna and the other named Elsa. Well Elsa has this ability to turn things into Winter or ice. This ability causes a lot of issues between the sisters. She becomes what they call, “The Ice Queen.” I’m not going to tell you more than that because I want you to see it for yourself. Also I love the music in this movie too! Anyway back to the makeup look. Anna has a neutral look, whereas Elsa has a very pretty look with the color purple which right now is my favorite color.

First off I am going to start off with some pictures of what Elsa looks like.

Here are a few more photos of Elsa and the rest of the characters.

Sisters: Elsa and Anna!

Rest of the main characters!

As you can see she has a purplish pink style makeup on her lid with a orange/brownish color in her crease. I just think that her makeup is gorgeous!!! Don’t you agree?

Well here is my attempt on this look.

DSC01366

How I got this look?

Well I am going to post another picture of the palette so you can see the pictures and then the swatches.

DSC01375

I used the colors: impulse, glance, improvise, whim, and desire to create this look.

IMG_0390[1]

The swatches: impulse, glance, improvise, whim, and desire.

Well onto the steps! If you don’t have the Stila in the moment palette or the Sigma eye shadow base that is fine! Just find colors that are close. Use what you got!

1. Take Sigma’s eye shadow base in pursue and put that all over the eyelid, but not on the crease

2. Take the color impulse which is a pale shimmery lavender color and add that to the inner part of the eyelid and take that color in about 1/3 of the eye

3. Take the color glance which is a violet with shimmer and add that color to the rest of the eyelid

4. Blend the colors impulse and glance together to make a nice transition into the darker color

5. Add the color whim which is a soft reddish-orange brown with some shimmer into the crease

6. Take the color improvise which is a dark plum into the outer V to add dimension and blend that color into whim

7. Add desire which is a soft matte light pinkish tan as a highlight below the brows

8. Add the color glance to the bottom lash line, stop half way

9.  Make sure everything is blended nicely

10. Add Schwing liquid eyeliner to upper lash line

11. Add Em Cosmetics waterliner to waterline

12. Curl lashes and add Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

13. Add Urban Decay’s Flushed blush (a rose toned pink) to the apples of the cheeks and to the tip of the nose. If you look at a photo of Elsa she has a red nose which makes sense because it’s Winter!

14. Add Urban Decay’s Flushed highlighter (pink-champagne)

15. Add Tarte’s LipSurgence in the color believe to the lips (a berry colored lip)

16. Ready set go! Look into the mirror! Smile! Go enjoy the world!!

Anyway I hope that you all enjoyed this post! I really do love my Disney movies! Maybe I will do more posts like this in the future. Comment down below on what you thought of this look. Also let me know if you saw the movie Frozen and what did you think of it?

November 2013 Favorites!!!

Yeah I’m sure people are sick of hearing this, but, seriously…NOVEMEBER OF 2013 is OVER…HOW?!?!?!?! How is October of 2013 over? How is November of 2012 over? As I get older I feel like my life goes faster and faster! I know as a kid I always said, “I can’t wait to be in my 20s.” Well I am, and somedays I wish I could be a kid again. I will be turning 25 in December and when I think about the fact that when I was a senior in high school the today’s seniors were in elementary school, I feel old, even though I know I am not. Anyway onto the point of this post…so with each end of the month comes my monthly favorites series where I share whatever I was loving in that month! I figured I better get this post up soon because as you can tell months go by so fast and it’s already December 2nd!

Under each product name I have a description in “italiacs” and that came off of each of the websites listed below.

1.  NUDE’tude Palette by The Balm

“This amazing palette consists of 12 beautiful shadows that make wearing nudes sexy! These satiny smooth colors can be applied naturally, i.e. “let me slip into something more comfortable” or beautifully layered. The wide range gives you light highlighters as well as brazen bold shades that work to add definition and emphasis to your lids. Nude`tude allows you to dramatically dress up your eyes—if nothing else!”

http://www.thebalm.com/nude-tude.html

I love this palette! It has amazing packaging and colors! I have been loving a neutral eye this month for some reason so I’ve been using this palette quite a bit lately. I will have an in-depth review coming up on this palette. I love using the colors: Seductive, Sophisticated, and Sultry together. I also love the color Spunky. These eye shadows are so buttery and soft. I just love them!

2. Purminerals Hot Rocks “Depth, Dimension, Drama”

“Add depth, dimension and drama to your look with pressed, micronized minerals in a patented, three-dimensional design! Multi-tasking Pür Rocks help to enhance and brighten eyes, lips and cheeks with a dose of luminous colour. Vibrant, organic jewel tones of garnet and pink zircon capture the splendor of a desert sunset, illuminating the face with shimmering, rosy undertones. Paraben-free. Net Wt: .4 oz/12 g”

http://www.purminerals.com/Pur-Rocks

I think this blusher is first off adorable with the little rock design. This blush reminds me a lot of Benefit’s Rockateaur except not as expensive. Pur Minerals has a lot of sales so you probably won’t have to pay full price for this product if you decide you want it. I just think that it gives a nice rosey glow to the cheeks. The blush is also pigmented and easy to apply.

IMG_0238

IMG_0239

3. Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter, Shadow, & Shimmer

“Meet Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow.”

http://www.thebalm.com/mary-lou-manizer.html

As you can tell I love The Balm products. First off, look at the packaging. It is just cute and unique. Also, the pigmentation of this highlighter is amazing. This can also be used as a eye shadow. I usually use it as a highlight, but be careful since it is so pigmented you will only need a tiny amount on your brush. You only want a small amount of glow, where you can notice it, but that it still looks natural.

4. Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner in Brown

“A long-wearing waterproof liner infused with Amazonian clay to glide on effortlessly smooth and deliver true color in a seamless application.”

http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-Amazonian-clay-waterproof-eyeliner

I almost took this out of my monthly favorites post because I had a hard time finding it online. Looks like they’re changing some of their eyeliners, but I did find some colors in the link above. This eyeliner I thought was very easy to use. It also has a nice dark brown color that glides on effortlessly. I did get this in a Tarte Discovery kit at Sephora once upon a time.

IMG_0241

5. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

“Our sweetest confection exfoliates lips smooth, prepping them for your favorite lip color or balm. A blend of exfoliating Fair Trade sugar and moisturizing jojoba oil, this lip scrub is sure to leave your lips enticingly soft and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time! Scrub Bubblegum over your lips (be sure to lick off the excess) and then apply your favorite lip color for a flawless finish.”

http://www.lushusa.com/Bubble-Gum/03056,en_US,pd.html#q=bubble%2520gum&start=3

I love this lip scrub! It’s basically bubblegum flavored sugar. This lip scrub makes my lips soft and it does taste good. I know it sounds gross to lick your lips afterwards but that’s why it is flavored sugar. They also have other flavors such as popcorn, and a new cola flavored one.

6. The Balm Crease, Love, & Happiness Double-Ended Smudger Brush/Tapered Crease Brush

“Drag the small end of Crease, Love, and Happiness along the lower lash line for soft, natural definition or use it on your eyelid for precision. Fall in love with the larger end which defines your crease and applies shadow all over your lids in one smooth sweep.”

I love this brush because it fits my crease perfectly. I use this brush all the time. It is soft and it applies shadow how I want it to. I do use both sides, but the one for my crease is my favorite side. I use the other side to place shadow.

7. Fortune Cookie Soap “I Yam What I Yam, Said The Marshmallow” Body Butter

“Whip your skin into shape daily. Tests have shown only small amounts of vitamins can be absorbed by the skin at one time.  Therefore, it is better to apply smaller amounts more frequently than larger concentrations occasionally. With this cream, my friends, less is definitely more.”

http://www.fortunecookiesoap.com/collections/body-butters

I got this little body butter in my Fall Soap subscription box and I have received a few more body butters from them since then and let me tell you I LOVE THEM! They’re super moisturizing and they smell amazing! I could not find this exact scent which is a mixture of pumpkin and marshmallows, but they do have a ton of different scents available. I was just loving this scent this month because I felt like it fit perfectly during the month of November.

8. ChapStick Moisturizer Hydration Lock

I got this ChapStick in my Birchbox as an extra and I love it. I have the scent vanilla creme. It smells amazing and it is super moisturizing! During the Fall and Winter months I am always using some sort of chap stick.

9. The Balm’s Stainiac Lip and Cheek Stain

“Stainiac “hint of tint” works with all skin tones. Dab just a touch on your Cheeks and Lips; layer to pop the color. Fear not those dreaded streaks most tints leave behind – Stainiac’s aloe-infused gel-based formula is designed to give you more time before the stain sets.”

You must be thinking…jeeze does this girl work for The Balm? I don’t what so ever, I just love this company and think they have amazing products!  I also got this product in a BirchBox. I am kind of feeling bad for canceling my BirchBox at this moment. Well, honestly most of the samples from BirchBox weren’t this good. Anyway, I felt like this stainiac gave my lips an amazing color and that it lasted a long time. It wasn’t moisturizing at all so I put on a Maybelline Baby Lips over it for some moisture.

10. Mirya’s & Molly’s Monthly Favorites!

“The holidays will surely be filled with joy when your dog receives the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer PetHoliday Flattie Rudolph/Clarice Dog Toy; detailed with a festive red holiday scarf. Let him toss, tug and gnaw at the toy until he finds the squeaker housed internally for added fun!”

Play-N-Squeak Cardinal/Woodpecker Cat Toy

“This Our Pet’s Play-N-Squeak Cat Toy looks just like a real bird so it can be a fun toy for your cat.”

Mirya has been loving both of these toys. She loves stealing Molly’s toys and she loves this bird because it makes a bird noise. Molly also loves it when Mirya isn’t watching and she loves tossing it around. Mirya has been loving her Clarice reindeer toy which has a squeaker in it for entertainment.

She also liked my EOS lip balm!

And a little extra….

Books: Sadly I haven’t been reading any books this month. I started last month the Nicholas Sparks book, “The Longest Ride.” Well life got busy and I never got to read it. But, I will read it this month! I do love Nicholas Sparks so his books are always a favorite of mine.

Movies: Frozen and Catching Fire

I loved both these movies. I almost liked Catching Fire more than the original Hunger Games. I thought that they did a really good job with it. I can’t wait for the next 2 movies to come out. They’re splitting the book Mockingjay into 2 parts. I also saw the movie Frozen. I am a huge animated movie fanatic. I love animation. The creativity behind it fascinates me. It’s amazing how far animation has gone over the years. I also thought that Frozen had a really cute story line.

Tv Series: Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and The Voice

This month I am still loving “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.” I am always looking forward to Thursday nights because of this show. I just think that it is creative and I love the love story between Alice and Cyrus the genie. I recommend checking out this show if you like the original Once Upon a Time, characters from Disney movies, and magically type shows. I also have been loving The Voice this month. I am team Christina! I love Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler! I am also loving Team Adam.
