Monthly Favorites: February 2014

Well we’re almost a week into March and I have yet to post my monthly favorites for February. I still decided that I wanted to share this post with you! February went by way too fast! I can’t believe it’s March!

PALETTES

1) Naked 3
Surprise! Who would have guessed that this palette would be in my monthly favorites?!? I absolutely love it! Rose gold neutrals were perfect for February. I did do a review and comparison on this palette, along with the other 2 Naked palettes. Check it out here.

2) Sigma Beauty Warm Neutral Palette
This month I was also loving this palette! I think it has amazing colors! It was featured on my recent blog hop (5 items I would bring on a last minute road trip). I just really think that Sigma’s eye shadows improved with this palette compared to their others. I love the array of colors and finishes included. Make sure to check out my review on this palette here.

BRUSHES

3) Tarte Buffy Bamboo Face Powder Brush (More information on this brush here)
I am really loving this brush! It is super soft and I use it to apply my mineral veil powder. It helps give a flawless finish with the powder. Also this brush is cruelty free which I love!!! Yes the price tag is hefty, but a lot of Tarte’s products are expensive. The brush has super nice quality. I have not noticed losing any bristles at all.

4) The Balm Powder to the People  (Powder/Blush Brush) (More information on this brush here)
I also really love this brush, but I use this one for blush. It isn’t as soft as some brushes that I have, but soft enough in my opinion. Sometimes if brushes are too soft, then it is hard to pick up product. I feel like this one is perfect. It isn’t scratchy on my face or anything like that. This seems to be my “go-to” blush brush.

BLUSH/POWDER

5) Tarte Amazionan Clay 12-Hour Blush (You can find more information on the blush here)
I have this blush in the color Glisten. It is the only Tarte blush that I own, but I can tell you that I would love to have more. Once again, because it is Tarte, it does have a hefty price tag. But, this blush goes on amazingly and had the perfect amount of pigmentation. I think that the color is a perfect everyday pink color. It does have some sparkle in the pan, but it looks amazing on the cheek.  It also has longevity which is always a nice thing to have in a makeup product.

6. bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder (You can find more information on this powder here)
Here is another item that was featured on my blog hop post. I just think that this powder gives me a nice finish. I don’t have oily skin or anything, but I just like how it completes the look and gives me more of an airbrushed finish. I have this powder in original. The only thing that I don’t like about it, is that it is sort of messy. But, that is to be a little expected, because it is a loose powder. It is easy to get the right amount of powder wanted without wasting it, because there is a nice closure part that keeps the powder in place when not in use.

Tv Shows

The Voice started up again, but this time with Shakira and Usher instead of Christina Aquilera and CeeLo Green. I have to say that I love this group of judges way more. They make it more interesting and keep me involved without my mind drifting.  I, of course, have been loving my ABC Family shows (Switched at Birth, The Fosters, and Twisted).

Movies (Pictures from IMDB)

Endless Love: Yes! I will admit that I love chick flicks. I really did like this movie, although it isn’t my favorite. I thought it had a cute story.
The Lego Movie: Yes! I did go to this movie. Well…because I only had brothers growing up and they loved Legos. It was better than I thought it was going to be. I think it was cute. “Everything is Amazing.” Yes, that theme song was stuck in my head for awhile after seeing this movie.
12 Years a Slave: I thought that this was a really good movie. Very powerful! Congrats on winning the Oscar for best picture and also to Lupita Nyong’o on winning best supporting actress! You deserved it!!

Books: Sadly, I didn’t finish a book this month! My New Year’s Resolution is already down the drain! 😦 I did start reading, “Divergent” so, hopefully, I will finish that book in March. I know the movie is coming out soon!

What am I looking forward to in March?
The Hunger Games Catching Fire Blue-ray/DVD release
Frozen Blue-ray/DVD release (so excited!!!)
Hopefully less days that are below zero and being closer to Spring/Summer

This completes my February favorites! Comment and let me know what your favorites have been and if you have tried any of these products!

Xoxo
