Monthly Favorites: July 2014

IMG_20140723_181905226

Can it really be time for JULY of 2014 Favorites?!? Next month is August of 2014?!? Really?!! Didn’t we just celebrate News Years of maybe….2010 or 2007?!? I just want to slow down time because I am enjoying my summer and with it being August soon that means Fall is around the corner.

I have been loving quite a few things this month, but I decided on these 6 lovely products! Hope you enjoy!

1) INSTAIN Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush in Argyle
If you have been following me on Instagram you may have seen a photo of my haul from The Balm. I was visiting my cousin in South Dakota and we were at Kohls and my jaw dropped because I didn’t know that Kohls carried The Balm. I have only gotten The Balm products online so I was excited to be able to see them in person. I decided on this lovely blush (also got a nail polish and a lip-gloss) and I am glad that I decided to pick it up because it is a gorgeous light pink shade. The Balm blushes are super pigmented and blendable. Also, isn’t the packaging just amazing?

2) tarte Amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation in light beige and airbuki bamboo powder foundation brush

I have been using this foundation since it came out. This was actually my first foundation that I ever bought. True story. I never wore foundation previous to that. But, then again I didn’t get into makeup until around age 21. But, as I am getting older my face has some redness. It covers my redness up without any issue and gives me a flawless finish. After using this for awhile, I decided that I wanted to try a liquid foundation…well because…I have never tried one before. I have used it for awhile and do like that one too. But, I just missed my powder foundation. I recently repurchased this foundation at a recent Ulta haul and have been loving it once again! The application is super easy, especially with the airbuki brush, which came out at the same time as the foundation. The brush fits perfectly in the foundation’s packaging. There is a mesh cover that I press my brush against to get the perfect amount of foundation on my brush. Also, when the foundation cover is on the product stays put instead of spilling all over due to its design. I also love tarte because they’re more natural and are cruelty free. My mom used to use Clinique’s foundation. I even got her to switch to this and she has noticed a huge difference with her oily skin. So yes, this foundation is both good for dry to oily skin, and of course normal skin.

3) tarte colored clay CC primer in light

Dark circles have been known to be genetic, so I probably can never get them to go away fully. Thanks family! My alternating shifts don’t help matters either, so I am always trying to find the next big thing to help cover up those panda eyes. When I was at Ulta with my cousin, she recommended that I try this product. She stated that it helps her with her dark circles. I am really glad that I gave this product a go because I love it! I just apply this over my under-eyes and blend before adding any foundation. I also do add some concealer as well, but this primer has really helped cover up those unwanted dark circles. The product itself is very creamy and easy to blend into the skin. The only thing is that it was quite pricey, but tarte in itself is quite pricey.

4) The Balm Read my Lips Lip Gloss in the shade Zaap!

Here is that lip-gloss that I got in my The Balm haul from Kohl’s. I am quite impressed with this lovely lip-gloss. It has to probably be one of my favorites I’ve ever tried. It is creamy, pigmented, but not sticky. It does need to be reapplied throughout the day, but that doesn’t bother me. I would rather have to reapply than to have it be sticky. The more sticky a lip gloss is, the more long lasting. This shade is gorgeous! It can be applied more sheer to the lips or it can be applied more opaque as well. This lip-gloss does have a pleasant fruity scent. I do like the packaging. I wish I had a picture of the outer box that it came in because The Balm has amazing packaging. Overall, I am quite impressed with this lip-gloss and want to try more colors from this collection.

5) Sleek i-Divine Garden of Eden Palette

I got this palette from Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner in our beauty swap. I have been really loving this Sleek palette this month because green is one of my favorite colors.  Purple is my all time favorite color and a few pinkish-purple shades are included in this palette as well. This palette is just gorgeous and it reminds me of nature and being outside. This palette comes with both shimmery and matte shades. I love the shimmery shades quite a bit. They’re super pigmented and blendable. I plan on doing a more detailed review coming soon!

Here is an Instagram photo of a look that I created using this palette…

6) Sephora and Pantone Universe Rush Luster Cheek Sweep

I saw this on clearance at Sephora recently. Once again, I blame Coffee Break with Dani on YouTube for this purchase because she raved about it. I can totally understand why. These are honestly the softest blushes I have ever had the chance of trying out. They’re amazingly pigmented, the swatches down below are just one swipe of the finger. They’re so buttery soft and just plain right amazing. I really enjoy the first shade, the third shade in the palette is pretty bold so I haven’t given that shade a chance quite yet. But, the first blush shade is GORGEOUS and it is a favorite of mine.

Lancaster Vanilla and Caramel Soft Cremes

I recently saw these at Target and decided to give them a try. I am so glad that I decided to pick them up because they’re so delicious! They are super soft and just amazing! I recommend trying them if you’re a fan of caramels.

That concludes July’s monthly favorites! Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these items. What did you think of the items I included in my favorites! Comment and let me know! I love hearing from you!

Beauty Blogger Collaboration: Makeup Through The Ages -1960

1907337_10201859612924643_1540852947928680308_n

Do you see the title of this blog collaboration?!?! I am beyond ecstatic to be doing this wonderful “Makeup Through the Ages” post with a bunch of other amazing beauty bloggers from all over the world! Awhile back I had asked my followers to take part in this awesome collaboration with me!  🙂 As you may know, makeup has changed quite a bit throughout time. Our blog collaboration will take our readers on a journey through the ages starting with Egyptians, skipping numerous years, then the roaring 1920s to present day, and then of course futuristic! I can’t wait to see what all the other ladies came up with!

My Decade

Untitled

I picked the 1960s for a couple of reasons! I love the music! I am a big classic rock fan. I love the song, “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals. I posted a YouTube video just in case you have never heard of it! I, of course, also loved THE BEATLES! They’re one of my favorite bands!

A Little History Lesson!

1960 JFK (John F. Kennedy) beats Richard Nixon in the presidential election to become the 35th US President. The book “To Kill a Mockingbird” was published.
1961 “West Side Story” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” comes to the big screen.
1962 Marilyn Monroe dies of an overdose. World wide television and cable became a reality. Eleanor Roosevelt dies. My amazing mum is born!
1963 The Beatles take Britain by storm. JFK is assassinated. My amazing dad is born!
1964 Bob Dylan becomes popular. Color television! The first primetime Soap Opera “Peyton Place” appears on television. Martin Luther King Jr. gets the Nobel Peace Prize.
1965 “The Sound of Music” premieres. Martin Luther King Jr. works on the Voting Rights Act.
1966 The first “Star Trek” episode aires. Walt Disney dies.
1967 PBS is created. “The Jungle Book” comes out.
1968 “60 Minutes” first airs. The movie rating system starts (PG, PG-13, Rated R, etc.) Martin Luther King Jr. dies.
1969 “Sesame Street” was born. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walk on the moon.

Information found here and here.

The 1960s Beauty Trends

I did do some research online, but I got most of my information from my grandparents who grew up in the 1960s.

  • Dramatic makeup looks.
  • Pedal Pushers! Which in today’s age are known as capris.
  • The mini skirt makes its way into fashion!
  • Big Hair!!!! Lots of volume! Remember the movie “Hairspray” and their crazy volume?!? That takes place in the 1960s.
  • A lot of black liner!
  • Cut creases (mostly used black)
  • Nude lips also became popular in the 1960s. But, my grandma said that in the early 1960s, red lips were super popular!
  • Colorful eye looks!
  • Thick full lashes on both the bottom and top as worn by Twiggy in the 1960s.
  • The Nurses hat! (So glad I don’t have to wear that in my nursing career)!

MAKEUP

When I first decided I was going to do the decade of the 1960s, I of course, wanted to do a blue eye-shadow look because it just screams the 1960s in my opinion. When I was talking to my grandmas, they both said blue eye-shadow was the craze. I have never done a cut crease, so my look is going to be a little softer than the Twiggy version of a cut crease with an intense black line.

IMG_20140615_173912281

I love my Nyx Jumbo pencil in milk because it definitely helps eyeshadows pop, especially a blue shade. I layered that on top of my Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. The white base does not need to be perfect because, well, it will be turning blue here soon…

primer

I recently got the Mac Fix+ because I visited my first ever Mac store and felt like this was a good purchase. Basically, I sprayed my eyeshadow brush with this Mac Fix+ to moisten it and that helped make the shadow more pigmented and  give it a more harsh look.

perfect duo

There I am adding the crazy blue shadow single which is from the amazing brand of Urban Decay and in the shade Peace. I recently got a new makeup mirror, as you can see in the photo, and I love it! I will be doing a post on that sometime soon.

blue shadow

I never ever wear winged eyeliner, so I’ll be honest, this was really new to me. Therefore, ….. TAPE! I applied tape so I would get it even. Placement of the winged eyeliner is supposed to follow the bottom lash line into a wing. But, before you add fresh tape onto your poor little delicate under eyes, put it on your hand first to take away some of the stickiness. I used 2 different eyeliners for this look. The first one I used is by Collection and it is their 24 hour felt tip eyeliner. I used that along the lashline and the wing (basically the whole eyeliner part). The second eyeliner was just a little blacker, so I added that eyeliner on top of the one from Collection. That eyeliner is from The Balm and it is their Schwing liquid eyeliner.

eyeliner

This was probably the hardest part of the look. Making it look like a “cut crease.” As you can see in the photo, I just took the shade Blackout and applied it in the crease. I did blend it a little bit so it isn’t quite the same as Twiggy. But, you get the point. I also applied some Blackout shadow under my lash line as well.

adding in the black

Time for mascara! I decided to try the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara. I really wanted dark voluminous lashes and I didn’t want to have to put fakes ones on, so this was the next best thing.

macara

I wanted to add a little shimmer to my look, therefore, The Balm’s Overshadow in Work is OverRated comes to the stage.

finishing touch

Apparently in the 1960’s a lot of people would shave off their eyebrows and draw them on. They did draw them in on the heavier side and more of a straight line. Yeah, I’m not going to do that.

brows

I used the products that I usually use from day to day. In the 1960s they liked more of a matte over a dewy finish. I used Porefessional from Benefit for a primer. Then, my tarte Amazonian clay foundation in Light Sand. Finally, I finished off with my bareMinerals Mineral Veil powder.

face

Time for some bronzer, highlighter, and some blush. I hardly ever wear bronzer, ever! But, I decided to use my Pur Minerals Mineral Glow. The highlighter I used is the famous Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm. In the 1960s they wore a lot of coral blush. Hence, I thought that my Sleek blush in the shade coral would be perfect to add to this look.

bronzer

I really wish that I would have worn a nude lipstick, because I have the perfect one. I did wear a red lipstick because my grandma had said that in the early 1960s, red was popular and that during that time they came out with more shades: nudes, pinks, etc. I just finally had a reason to wear a red lipstick. I used my Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in the shade Theodora. I got it in my Theodora palette from The Great and Powerful Oz.

HAIR

1) In the 1960s, they wore a lot of hair accessories. So I decided to use my headband (from Maurices) for some extra 1960s style. I just parted my hair on the side and put the headband into place. Then I combed back the rest of the hair that was behind the headband.
2) Since they ratted their hair a lot to get extreme volume I decided to try this voluminizing powder from Not Your Mothers. It did work pretty well, because I was able to comb through my ratted hair with no difficulty. Do not try ratting your hair without using a powder like this, otherwise it will be a snarly mess.
3) After applying the powder in the roots, I took a comb and started ratting.
4) For some extra volume I decided to have a little mini bun that the ratted hair from step 3 will cover.
5) I just continued to rat all my hair around the headband, until it looked something like this…
6) Pin back the hair with a bobby pin making sure to cover the bun. I did have a flower clip that I placed over the bobby pins. You will be able to see it in the photos below.

THE COMPLETED LOOK

This is my completed look. I really like that it looks very 1960s. Comment if you agree?!? This eye look is obviously not an everyday look, but they sure loved their blue eyeshadow back then.

completed makeup

FASHION

This is probably where I had the most fun with this collaboration. Picking out my outfit!! I feel like the neckline of the shirt I’m wearing is perfect! In the 1960s they wore a lot of rounded collar necklines, whether it be a shirt or a dress, that style was in. It is also a perfect blue shade! I of course spotted this shirt at Maurices. No surprise there! My pedal pushers or capris (whatever you prefer to call them) are also from Maurices. They didn’t usually wear blue jean pedal pushers (like in today’s age), but more khaki or colorful ones instead. My black flats I have had forever, but I’m 99.9% sure I got them at Famous Footwear. My necklace I felt was very fitting for this decade with the silver hoops. That is from the jewelry company, “Premier Designs.” Both my earrings and bracelet are from Maurices. They would wear big hoop earrings, but this was the most dangly earring I had.

SOME SHIBA INU LOVE…
Since hardly anybody has heard of a Shiba Inu in today’s age, I’m sure Shiba Inus were quite rare then. But, that didn’t stop me from taking some photos with my pup Mirya! She is so photogenic!

shiba

That concludes this post! I hope that you enjoyed reading it. Let me know what you think of my makeup, hair, and outfit. I had a lot of fun doing this. Doing 1960s makeup and hair isn’t the easiest, so I am glad that I don’t have to rat my hair like they did back in the day. Also, so glad that I don’t have to wear those white nurses hats. Make sure to check out all the other lovely ladies’ posts that are part of this.

January Ipsy Bag!

My favorite pink package came in the mail again! January Ipsy bag is here! Well actually it was a few days ago! If you don’t know what Ipsy is; it is a $10 monthly subscription that sends you 4-6 beauty samples inside a cosmetic bag. Their website is here.

So this is what I got!!!

IMG_0475

An overview of what I got!

IMG_0473

This month’s Ipsy bag! I think that it is cute, but it’s not my favorite Ipsy bag!

ITEM #1: MAKEUP CLEANSING TISSUE BY A! ABSOLUTE!

“Pre-moistened, refreshingly fragranced, water-based cloths designed to instantly remove even waterproof makeup without irritation. Infused with natural extracts and botanicals, Absolute! Makeup Cleansing Tissues are formulated to reawaken and soften skin, while helping to reduce puffiness. Made of delicate spun lace, our convenient, effortless 1-step tissues are gentle enough for use on sensitive skin and around the eye area.” (From the Ipsy website)

When I opened the bag and saw this! I was, “oh darn.” This better not have those icky ingredients that Stephanie Wright talked about in her amazing post about makeup wipes. Check it out here. There is a long list of chemicals, but I did not see Phenoxyethanol listed! I was surprised, but still there is a lot of icky “I have no idea what that is” chemicals!! I will probably use these to remove swatched eye shadows off my arm. They do smell like pomegranate, but they have a strange “alcohol” smell. I would say these are a dud for me!!

IMG_0476

ITEM #2 THE POREFESSIONAL BY BENEFIT

“Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skintones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals.” (From the Ipsy website)

Well I just bought this in my latest haul, so I wasn’t too excited about this! But, hey my mom is because I said she could try it out! I will have a review coming sometime in the future. But, so far I’m loving it! I saw that this was also in BirchBox this month, but their sample was about twice the size! (I don’t have BirchBox, I am just going off of posts I’ve seen.) Boo Ipsy!!! But, still it is a good product for subscribers to try out so I am glad Ipsy included it! I just wish that we had more of a choice on what we got!

IMG_0484

ITEM #3 MOJITO LIP BALM BY (MALIN + GOETZ)

“The (MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm is as soothing to the lips as it is to the senses. Flavored with (MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito, this lip balm is scientifically blended to restore and replenish. The hydrating lip gel easily integrates for daily maintenance, prevention and treatment of dry, irritated lips. Color and Paraben free. ” (From the Ipsy website)

The packaging on it looks boring, but can’t judge something by it’s packaging. It did remind me of something that we have at the hospital for dry lips, except without the mojito part. Once again the ingredient list is miles long, but at least it’s paraben free. I tried it and it is actually really moisturizing and it smells nice too! The scent is very light which is a pro for me! This will be perfect to put on before bed. I am not a fan of the tip of it, no applicator. It is just a squeeze out tube.

IMG_0483

ITEM #4 LIQUID FOUNDATION BY YABY

“The yaby Liquid Foundation leaves an unbelievably natural, super smooth texture and is extremely easy to apply. Mimics the skin’s natural sheen to create the most realistic flawless skin. Oil-free.” (From the Ipsy website)

Apparently whoever got this foundation got the color Buff, it seems like it would be a good color for me. But, really that is the only colors they send out? I looked at this foundation and I thought, “gross..is that supposed to be there?” There is random dark spots in the foundation. Is it mold or is it color that wasn’t blended in? Comment down below and let me know! I guess I’m not going to put this on my face until I know what that weird stuff is. I will add that I use powder foundation so I’m not that educated in liquid foundation.

IMG_0482

IMG_0481

ITEM #5 BALM ME UP ORGANIC SWEET COCOA & TANGY BODY BALM BY BALANCED GURU

“Treat your whole body with a smooth and buttery body balm. Enriched with healthy butters and an invigorating blend of essential oils that will wake up your senses and moisturize your skin without leaving it greasy or tacky. Make sure you work it well into elbows, knees and even your feet, they’ll thank you later! ” (From the Ipsy website)

It made me happy that it was organic and cruelty free! Yay no nasty chemicals! This balm has a pretty strong lime scent, especially at first. The strong scent doesn’t stay too long at least. It is also very greasy. The consistency of it was weird too. When I first took some out of the container, it was chunky. It kind of looked like tapioca pudding in a way. My first thought was, “oh well this won’t rub into the skin very well.” It actually did! It is super moisturizing so that is nice. It will help my super dry hands.

IMG_0479 IMG_0480

So that concludes this month’s Ipsy bag. I was disappointed in it for the first time since I began my subscription. Comment and let me know what you got in your Ipsy bags and also if you have ever tried any of these products. Also I really want to know if that foundation is moldy or if it is just the foundation colors not mixed together.

Today was my niece’s 2nd birthday (can’t believe how fast time goes) and my family was going to get together for it! Let’s just say that mother nature had a different plan! It snowed quite a bit! Snow was blowing like crazy and when snow blows it makes the roads slippery. We live an hour and 20 minutes away from where they live.  So the birthday party was rescheduled for tomorrow. Well actually today now, because I plan to schedule this post for tomorrow. It is 11:21 PM or 2321 at this moment. I am hoping that the weather works out! But, at least my boyfriend gets to come. 🙂 He had to work today and has tomorrow off. I also plan on making a pit-stop at Sephora to return that Tarte brush I got in my latest haul. I decided that I wanted a different one that I got from Ulta instead. I am hoping I can pick up my Sephora 500 point perks too. With that, hope you all have a great day!

Xoxo

TAG: Best of Beauty 2013

So I recently watched a YouTube video on this tag and I thought that it was a cool tag to do with the year coming to an end. I have done a few tags here and there and I have to say that I do love doing them. With tags I can go see what other bloggers wrote about the same questions that I answered, and I find that interesting.  Some other tags that I have done is the perfect palette tag, the wintery tag, and a get to know me tag and I do have a few more that I have on my list to do. I am also hoping that some day I can create my own clever tag.

So I will admit that I did buy a lot of beauty products in the year 2013 and I just thought this tag was a perfect way to share some of my favorite products from certain categories with you!

DSC01468

1. Primer

The Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer

I honestly don’t really use primer. So I switched this category up a little and I am sharing with you my favorite tinted moisturizer. I recently got the Balm Shelter from The Balm cosmetics and I love it! It has a good amount of coverage for a tinted moisturizer and leaves the face feeling moisturized and refreshed. Also it doesn’t feel like I have any makeup on. I got mine in the color light. I normally would have gone for light/medium but this product does oxidize some meaning it does turn darker in color with time.  The Balm always does amazing with packaging.

DSC01469

2. Foundation

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation

I got this foundation earlier this year. I honestly don’t wear much foundation so I am not that educated on it. But, when I do want more coverage I use this foundation. It is easy to apply. I use the brush that Tarte sells to accompany it. I have the color light beige and it works perfect for me. I also love that Tarte products are more natural.

DSC01499

3. Concealer

Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle

Well if you know me you may know that I suffer from dark circles. I call them my panda eyes. I do love panda bears, I just don’t want to share their eyes. Anyway, I am still on my search for the perfect concealer. I do have quite a few concealers, but I always seem to go back to this one because it is easy to apply and it does give me a good amount of coverage. I recently got the Balm’s  TimeBalm concealer. I have not used it enough to have a good enough opinion on it quite yet.

DSC01478

4. Powder

bareMinerals Mineral Veil

I don’t use very much powder ever, but I got this as a sample. I really do like this powder. It is easy to apply and gives me the airbrushed look. I don’t use it for absorbing any oils because I have dry skin.

DSC01483

5. Bronzer

PurMinerals Untamed Glamour Leapoard Print Mineral Glow

This bronzer actually comes in a 3 piece set. I did have review on it not to long ago so if you’re interested check it out. This bronzer is a nice color and it’s not too dark like a lot of bronzers out there. The packaging is also super high quality! Very sturdy!

DSC01475 DSC01474 DSC01229

6. Blush

Benefit’s Rockateur Box O’ Powder

I love this blush! I am always grabbing for this blush. It’s a gorgeous rose gold color and it has been featured in a monthly favorites post too! I think that the color is a nice, has good color payoff, and is very blendable.

DSC01489 DSC01488 DSC01091

7. Highlighter

Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter, Shadow, & Shimmer

When I wear highlighter I always grab for this one. It is perfect for a night out! I don’t have that many highlighters, but I do have some. This highlighter is super pigmented, so a light brush will do. It also can be used as an eye shadow.

DSC01473 IMG_0247 IMG_0249

8. Brow

I don’t use anything for my brows. But, I do think that if I did I would check out the brand Anastasia. They’re known for their brow products.

http://www.anastasia.net/brows/

9. Eye Shadow Palette

Urban Decay Vice 2

I love this palette. In the perfect palette tag I said it was my desert island palette and it still is. I just love the array of colors and finishes. I am a person that loves playing with all sorts of colors. This palette has both neutrals and colorful shadows. If I could go back in time I would buy this palette again!

DSC01500 DSC00919

10. Eye Liner

Urban Decay  24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils

This is the first high end eyeliners I ever tried and I do love them. They are creamy and super easy to apply. I got a bunch of mini ones in a set awhile back. I have tried other high end ones since then and I still have to say these are my favorite.

DSC01470

11. Mascara

Flower Beauty Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara in Intense Black

Flower Beauty is a company that was started by Drew Barrymore. I decided to try her mascara because I thought it was intriguing with how the brush works. Basically when I use it I apply 3 coats. With each coat I turn the knob on top like in the picture and it changes the wand. This mascara is considered a 3 in 1 twist because it gives length, curl, and volume.  I just think that Drew Barrymore was amazingly smart for thinking of this mascara. I plan on doing a Brand Spotlight on this company so stay tuned for that.

12. Lip Pencil

I don’t ever use lip pencils. The only lip pencil I have I got from an Ispy bag which I haven’t really tried yet.

13. Lipstick

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in the color Strip

Urban Decay came out with these lipsticks earlier this year. I have 2 of them, but this color Strip is my favorite. I felt like it was a perfect Fall shade and I liked how it looked on my lips. The application is easy and the formula is creamy. It does need to be re-applied throughout the day, but I feel like most lipsticks do anyway with eating and drinking. This color is a urbandecay.com exclusive.

DSC01482 DSC01481

14. Lip Gloss

Flower Beauty Shine On Lipgloss in My Little Buttercup

This lip gloss is from the same company as the mascara which is Flower Beauty. I really like the formula of this. It isn’t sticky at all. I hate those super sticky lip glosses! They also have really good color payoff. I do have another color from this lip gloss line, but I will show you that in my brand spotlight post coming up.

DSC01471

15. Beauty Subscription

Ipsy…beauty by you

I love getting my Ipsy bag each month. It costs $10 a month which I think is super reasonable for the amount of products included. I did have BirchBox before, but I canceled it because I felt like Ipsy was way better and I didn’t need to have both services. Right now the subscription services that I have are Ipsy, NatureBox, BarkBox, Fortune Cookie Soap, and Julep.

IMG_0424

I thought this tag needed a few more so I added 2 more categories.

16. Perfume

Meow by Katy Perry

I love this perfume. I got it awhile back along with the Purr perfume by Katy Perry. I got it for quite a reasonable price so that is why I decided to get both. I love using Meow for during the day and Purr for the night. I do like Meow a little better though, but still do love Purr. The packaging is adorable! I do like Katy Perry. I think she is awesome at making pop songs. I think that this scent smells very girly so if you’re not into that you probably won’t like it. But, I did list the notes found on her site down below. The scent is soft, musky, and fruity and isn’t overpowering. I do wish that is lasted a little bit longer, but all in all I still do love this perfume and I always grab for it! Comment if you want me to share my perfume collection.

TOP NOTES
Tangerine, Pear and Gardenia
MIDDLE NOTES
Honeysuckle, Lily of the Valley and Orange Blossoms
BOTTOM NOTES
Vanilla, Musk Amber and Sandalwood

17. Lip balm/chap-stick

Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched & EOS Lip Balms

I always use lip balm and chap-stick way more then I use lip stick or lip gloss. My lips always get super chapped and I love using both these products because they’re both moisturizing, feel good on the lips, and they smell good too!

18. Eye Shadow Brush

Sigma E55 Eye Shading

My favorite eye shadow brushes are Sigma brushes. Every time I go to Mall of America I always stop in the Sigma store and get myself a new brush. This is the E55 which is perfect for placing shadow on the eyelid. I love eye shadow and creating looks and I feel that in order to get the look I want I need quality brushes. I will post more information on my thoughts on makeup brushes someday.

Even if I didn’t list you under the people I tag, I still tag you!! Feel free to skip whatever category you want or add in whatever category you want also. I didn’t do anything skincare related, but feel free to add that in if you please.

Hope you enjoyed this post. I enjoyed writing this. Comment and let me know if you have tried any of these products. Also please please comment and let me know if you complete this tag so I can go check it out!

One last thing…in school teachers always said that the excuse, “my dog ate my homework” wasn’t a valid excuse. I have to disagree with that because Mirya my shiba inu loves paper! I’m not saying I ever had to use that excuse in school, I was always a good student. It was just a silly thought! Hope you all had a great Christmas or Holiday and hope you have a great New Years!
