TAG: Search Engine Strangeness – (How People Have Found my Blog)

This is a super clever tag and an interesting one too! It was started by Jacquelyn from The Little Scottish Corner! If you haven’t checked out her blog I recommend that you do! You can check it out here. So recently she noticed that in part of the stats section there is a part that tells her the search items that people used that in the end brought up her blog. She decided to share those by creating a tag! Such a clever tag idea!!! So I decided to look at my search terms. There are a lot of normal ones, but some very strange ones too! It makes me wonder what people are thinking sometimes!!

The Normal Ones

  • My most common one has to do with Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen. I did do an inspired makeup look of Elsa so that is why it brought my blog up. The search words included: elsa frozen, elsa frozen makeup, how to look like elsa from frozen, elsa’s makeup, elsa and anna makeup, and many more. But, it also deals with some of my weird strange search terms that make me wonder what people are thinking. I will get to those ones later!
  • Another common one is dealing with my review on Stila’s Dancing with the Stars palette. One day I got 235 hits and my most viewed post that day was my Stila DWTS review.  I think it was because it was just put on sale at Ulta for $15. The search terms included: stila dancing with the stars, stila patina palette, stila tango palette review, and many more.
  • Other common ones included: perfect palette tag, lush let the good times roll, galaxy chic palette review, urban decay vice 2, and many more.

The Cute Ones

We all know I love my Shiba Inu Mirya. I also love my kitty cat Molly! So this search term, “what does my shiba inu’s tail wag mean?” It just kind of made me smile because shiba inu’s are known for their tails. Through observation I’ve noticed that Mirya doesn’t really wag her tail much and that is common for shiba inus. I would consider her tail more ,”cat” like because she curls and uncurls it based on mood.  The more happy the more curled! She doesn’t even wag it for a treat, but she does have her, “happy” tail on. She does sometimes wag it if she is hard core playing with a toy or she is teasing the cat. When she meets new people she is a little scared and has more of a straighter tail.  If she is looking out the window and seeing something her tail is generally more straight. Same with if she is more calm and resting it is also more straight.

The Strange Ones

  • “do you need to see her picture. no i dont know histroy from the begging of the earth how could i know. i know your name means of the people” I don’t even know what that even means? If anybody does, comment and let me know! I have no idea why it brought up my blog! maybe it was on my, “get to know me tag” where I talked about the history of my hair color. Who knows!?!
  • “how can get an. frozen. elsa comments size 9-10” Not sure where the size 9-10 comes in, unless they were looking for an Elsa costume in the size 9-10? Who knows! But, all I know is that some of these people need to learn to use search engines.
  • “diy scrub johnson bedtime sea salt” This one came up because they wrote the name Johnson which is my last name. Very common! But, maybe they meant, “DIY scrub Johnson&Johnson bedtime sea salt,” but then again isn’t DIY mean doing it yourself?

The “What are people thinking ones?”

  • “frozen elsa sex” Hmm interesting people are searching this. I would hope that people don’t get turned on over an animated character.
  • “hot girl depti lips” That one is interesting too! Not sure what “depti” means?  I’m sure my blog came up because I have done a lip product review and featured some on my monthly favorites.
  • “queen elsa hot” Here is another Elsa one! Elsa is an animated character and I think she is very beautiful. I don’t know if this person was hoping to find some images of Elsa spiced up a bit. I don’t know…maybe with her dress and sleeves cut off into a short skirt. Who knows!

It says that I have 1,852 unknown search terms, but it will only let me see some of them. These were the most interesting ones that I could find!!

TAG: Spread the Love

So here is a tag that I made up!

There may be forms of it out there, but this is my own version. This tag is out there to spread the love to all bloggers out in the world. My blog is focused on beauty, makeup, skincare, and of course my pets show up quite a bit in my blog posts too. The point of this tag is to make other bloggers aware of other blogs to follow. Blogging is a community in my eyes. I love reading people’s blog posts and I love reading comments and responses.

3. THE FAITHFUL BLOGGER: this is the blogger that is always commenting on other bloggers posts and is very faithful on posting their own blog posts.

This category goes to…Jacquelyn from the Little Scottish Corner. I could give her a bunch of other categories too because I love reading her blog posts. But, she is always been a faithful commenter of mine. Her blog is always drawing me in! When I see a post from this girl I have to read it!! A recent post of hers was her blogging resolutions and that was a big part of why she got this category.

4. THE ADVICEE: this blogger is always trying out new products and a good blogger to ask advice regarding a product.

This category goes to…Jen from Dragonfly reviews. She always gives quick short reviews on all sorts of products whether it be makeup, skincare, or nail polish. If I have a question on a product Dragonfly reviews has probably reviewed it.

5. THE MAKEUP JUNKIE: this blogger loves makeup and everything about it.

This category goes to…Wendy from wendydotdinh. I think Wendy and I have a lot in common because we both love eye shadow palettes. She has a lot of nice reviews on palettes such as: Urban Decay Naked 3, Illamasqua Fatale palette, and many more. Also how could I forget about the lovely Perfect Palette Tag that got me started on her blog.

6. THE SKINCARE JUNKIE: this blogger is all about skincare.

The category goes to…Benita from Benita’s beauty bits and bobs. I would have to say that she is the Lush product Queen. If I have a question about a Lush product I know who to ask. She is always reviewing bath bombs, fresh face masks, and much more.

7.  THE BEST PICTURES: the blogger always has high quality pictures.

This category goes to…Caryl from carylalmelor.com. I really like her pictures. Just take a look at her blog and you will see why. I really like that she has a little something extra in the background like a flower.

8. THE LIGHT BULB: this blogger is always coming up with amazing new ideas for blog posts. 

This category goes to…Lucy from Miz Lulu. She has quite a lot of different kinds of posts: traveling, baking, makeup, and many more. She always has new ideas up her sleeve.

9. THE EYESHADOW TUTORIAL GURU: this blogger is always posting new and exciting makeup looks.

This category goes to…Lucy from Makeup Crazy! She is always posting amazing eye shadow looks! Also she posts an assortment of them. If you like neutral looks or if you like colorful looks Makeup Crazy has that covered. She is very talented at makeup and I love reading her blog posts!

10. THE HAIR TUTORIAL GURU

The category goes to….I don’t know! But I still thought it was a good category to include. Hopefully I will be able to find someone to fill this category once people start tagging other people.

11. THE NAIL POLISH GURU: this blogger is posting nail polish tutorials.

This category goes to…Laurelle from Paint Me Pretty. She has some pretty amazing nail looks. I especially loved the ones during Christmas time. Go to her blog and check out how amazing they are.

12. THE HIGHLY FASHIONABLE OOTDs: this blogger has a big sense of fashion and has amazing OOTDs.

This category goes to… Joanna from Joannaloves. She has an amazing fashion sense and is always posting adorable OOTDs. I bet that her closet is amazing!

13. THE EMERGER: this blogger is always trying out new brands and doesn’t settle for just one.

This category goes to…Michelle from Pretty in the East. She is always trying out new brands whether it be Urban Decay, The Balm, Julep, and many more. She has some amazing reviews. I especially love her julep subscription box reviews.

This category goes to…Victoria from Inside My Wonderland. I just love her blog name because it’s simple but unique. It makes me think of Alice in Wonderland! I love reading her blog! She has some amazing posts whether it be about foundation reviews, new product hauls, and many more. Also this girl can sport whatever hair style she wants and look amazing doing it!

15. THE UNIQUE TAGLINE: this blogger has a tagline that catches the attention and draws you in.

This category goes to…Mary from My Trip Down the Beauty Aisle. I love her tagline, it is very sweet. “A Girl, A Dream, A Palette Full of Color.” I love her blog because she does awesome makeup looks with a “palette full of color.”

16. THE SUBSCRIPTION BOX GURU: The blogger that has the most information on subscription boxes.

This category goes to the one and only…The Subscriptionist. She has a whole blog dedicated to subscription boxes. She was my inspiration for getting the BarkBox for Mirya my Shiba Inu. She has so many subscription boxes that she reviews and a lot of them are ones I’ve never heard of such as: Plated and Conscious Box.

The Emerger because I always try out new brands!! I’ve tried Urban Decay, Stila, Sigma, Too Faced, Flower Beauty, Bh Cosmetics, and many more.

TAG: Best of Beauty 2013

So I recently watched a YouTube video on this tag and I thought that it was a cool tag to do with the year coming to an end. I have done a few tags here and there and I have to say that I do love doing them. With tags I can go see what other bloggers wrote about the same questions that I answered, and I find that interesting.  Some other tags that I have done is the perfect palette tag, the wintery tag, and a get to know me tag and I do have a few more that I have on my list to do. I am also hoping that some day I can create my own clever tag.

So I will admit that I did buy a lot of beauty products in the year 2013 and I just thought this tag was a perfect way to share some of my favorite products from certain categories with you!

1. Primer

The Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer

I honestly don’t really use primer. So I switched this category up a little and I am sharing with you my favorite tinted moisturizer. I recently got the Balm Shelter from The Balm cosmetics and I love it! It has a good amount of coverage for a tinted moisturizer and leaves the face feeling moisturized and refreshed. Also it doesn’t feel like I have any makeup on. I got mine in the color light. I normally would have gone for light/medium but this product does oxidize some meaning it does turn darker in color with time.  The Balm always does amazing with packaging.

2. Foundation

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation 

I got this foundation earlier this year. I honestly don’t wear much foundation so I am not that educated on it. But, when I do want more coverage I use this foundation. It is easy to apply. I use the brush that Tarte sells to accompany it. I have the color light beige and it works perfect for me. I also love that Tarte products are more natural.

3. Concealer

Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle

Well if you know me you may know that I suffer from dark circles. I call them my panda eyes. I do love panda bears, I just don’t want to share their eyes. Anyway, I am still on my search for the perfect concealer. I do have quite a few concealers, but I always seem to go back to this one because it is easy to apply and it does give me a good amount of coverage. I recently got the Balm’s  TimeBalm concealer. I have not used it enough to have a good enough opinion on it quite yet.

4. Powder

I don’t use very much powder ever, but I got this as a sample. I really do like this powder. It is easy to apply and gives me the airbrushed look. I don’t use it for absorbing any oils because I have dry skin.

5. Bronzer

PurMinerals Untamed Glamour Leapoard Print Mineral Glow

This bronzer actually comes in a 3 piece set. I did have review on it not to long ago so if you’re interested check it out. This bronzer is a nice color and it’s not too dark like a lot of bronzers out there. The packaging is also super high quality! Very sturdy!

6. Blush

Benefit’s Rockateur Box O’ Powder

I love this blush! I am always grabbing for this blush. It’s a gorgeous rose gold color and it has been featured in a monthly favorites post too! I think that the color is a nice, has good color payoff, and is very blendable.

7. Highlighter

Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter, Shadow, & Shimmer

When I wear highlighter I always grab for this one. It is perfect for a night out! I don’t have that many highlighters, but I do have some. This highlighter is super pigmented, so a light brush will do. It also can be used as an eye shadow.

8. Brow

I don’t use anything for my brows. But, I do think that if I did I would check out the brand Anastasia. They’re known for their brow products.

9. Eye Shadow Palette

I love this palette. In the perfect palette tag I said it was my desert island palette and it still is. I just love the array of colors and finishes. I am a person that loves playing with all sorts of colors. This palette has both neutrals and colorful shadows. If I could go back in time I would buy this palette again!

10. Eye Liner

Urban Decay  24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils 

This is the first high end eyeliners I ever tried and I do love them. They are creamy and super easy to apply. I got a bunch of mini ones in a set awhile back. I have tried other high end ones since then and I still have to say these are my favorite.

11. Mascara

Flower Beauty Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara in Intense Black

Flower Beauty is a company that was started by Drew Barrymore. I decided to try her mascara because I thought it was intriguing with how the brush works. Basically when I use it I apply 3 coats. With each coat I turn the knob on top like in the picture and it changes the wand. This mascara is considered a 3 in 1 twist because it gives length, curl, and volume.  I just think that Drew Barrymore was amazingly smart for thinking of this mascara. I plan on doing a Brand Spotlight on this company so stay tuned for that.

12. Lip Pencil

I don’t ever use lip pencils. The only lip pencil I have I got from an Ispy bag which I haven’t really tried yet.

13. Lipstick

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in the color Strip

Urban Decay came out with these lipsticks earlier this year. I have 2 of them, but this color Strip is my favorite. I felt like it was a perfect Fall shade and I liked how it looked on my lips. The application is easy and the formula is creamy. It does need to be re-applied throughout the day, but I feel like most lipsticks do anyway with eating and drinking. This color is a urbandecay.com exclusive.

14. Lip Gloss

Flower Beauty Shine On Lipgloss in My Little Buttercup

This lip gloss is from the same company as the mascara which is Flower Beauty. I really like the formula of this. It isn’t sticky at all. I hate those super sticky lip glosses! They also have really good color payoff. I do have another color from this lip gloss line, but I will show you that in my brand spotlight post coming up.

15. Beauty Subscription

Ipsy…beauty by you

I love getting my Ipsy bag each month. It costs $10 a month which I think is super reasonable for the amount of products included. I did have BirchBox before, but I canceled it because I felt like Ipsy was way better and I didn’t need to have both services. Right now the subscription services that I have are Ipsy, NatureBox, BarkBox, Fortune Cookie Soap, and Julep.

16. Perfume

Meow by Katy Perry

I love this perfume. I got it awhile back along with the Purr perfume by Katy Perry. I got it for quite a reasonable price so that is why I decided to get both. I love using Meow for during the day and Purr for the night. I do like Meow a little better though, but still do love Purr. The packaging is adorable! I do like Katy Perry. I think she is awesome at making pop songs. I think that this scent smells very girly so if you’re not into that you probably won’t like it. But, I did list the notes found on her site down below. The scent is soft, musky, and fruity and isn’t overpowering. I do wish that is lasted a little bit longer, but all in all I still do love this perfume and I always grab for it! 17. Lip balm/chap-stick

I always use lip balm and chap-stick way more then I use lip stick or lip gloss. My lips always get super chapped and I love using both these products because they’re both moisturizing, feel good on the lips, and they smell good too!

18. Eye Shadow Brush

Sigma E55 Eye Shading

My favorite eye shadow brushes are Sigma brushes. Every time I go to Mall of America I always stop in the Sigma store and get myself a new brush. This is the E55 which is perfect for placing shadow on the eyelid. I love eye shadow and creating looks and I feel that in order to get the look I want I need quality brushes. I will post more information on my thoughts on makeup brushes someday.

A Get to Know Me Tag!

I love these types of things! I also thought this set of questions was a good one and good for a beauty blogger like myself! I saw this post from Britney at buzybritney2009.wordpress.com.  I will link her post below.

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

Naturally straight. One time in middle school I got a perm because I really wanted curly hair. Well that was a bad idea because it made my hair so fragile. But, now it is good.

 2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I have naturally dark blonde hair and I go to the salon to have it highlighted. Last year I dyed my hair dark brown which I really liked, but it grew out too fast and then I looked like a skunk with my blonde roots coming through. I also had red hair one time. It was one of those dyes that washes out after awhile. It started out really dark red, but when it got to be strawberry blonde random people stopped me and said they liked my hair (like at the grocery store).

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

I usually wear it down. Otherwise I wear it in a ponytail at work.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I hardly do a manicure because nail polish doesn’t last. But, on my birthday on Monday I am getting my first gel manicure with my mom. I’m hoping it last a lot longer then regular nail polish. Last time I painted my nails it lasted less than 24 hours before my first chip.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

Refer to question number 4. Two days ago I tried to do a candy cane look on my nails. Well that was a miserable fail!

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?

I usually do all year around. But so far this winter I haven’t polished them. I should go do that.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?

It depends on what I am doing for that day. I take the longest on my eye makeup. I would say 15 to 20 minutes.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Depends on the shadow I am using. If it is an eye shadow that has a lot of fallout I will do my eyes first. Most of the time I do my face first. I don’t wear much face makeup. I sometimes wear foundation, otherwise lately I have been wearing a tinted moisturizer.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I would have to say I collect makeup. If you have seen my Perfect Palette Tag I’m sure you would agree. I love eye shadow palettes. It’s my favorite kind of makeup. They also make it hard when they come out with new exciting ones all the time.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I have never tried wearing false lashes. Well I have tried this product called 3D Fiber lashes from Younique that applies just like mascara. Basically after applying regular mascara, transplantation gel is added over the mascara, and then fiber lashes are applied. I will do a review on it soon.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

No I don’t. I hardly wear any makeup at work.

12. Do you wear makeup when you’re home alone or with family?

I wear makeup on my days off. Somedays I take lazy days and don’t put on makeup if I plan on being home alone. But, I most likely always put it on for family.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?

I leave the house without makeup all the time.

14. How many high-end products do you have?

Quite a few.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you’re getting dressed?

I decide when I am getting dressed. Either I put on a pair of scrubs (if I’m working) or regular clothes.

16. How often do you change your handbag?

Not very often. Every few months.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

I wake up and go to sleep at 12,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, or 11 (AM/PM) I never ever go to bed or wake up at the same time. I don’t get the luxury of working 8-5 or any regular hours. I work 7 am to 7:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM. If I work the next day I go to bed at 10 PM or around there and if I work the next night shift I stay up the night before as late as I can sleep in as late as I can. Since I work 12 hour shifts I get more days off during the week. I am also only considered part time.

18. How often or when do you workout?

I will admit I could workout more. I like doing it when I get up in the morning.

19. Left handed or right handed?

Right handed. I am pretty useless with my left hand.

20. How tall are you?

5’6″

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?

I was in Spanish in high school and during my senior year of high school I went to Spain and traveled to many different cities with a school group. I also got to stay with a host family. That was a really good experience.

22. How many pets do you have?

I have a dog named Mirya and a cat named Molly. I also have a dog named Maddie who just turned 10 that lives at my parents house. I was in 9th grade when we got her.

23. How do you blog?

I usually start out with thinking of ideas. Then I take pictures, upload them. Then start blogging away! I use my desktop computer.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Yes, always. I feel like that is part of blogging. I also respond to comments.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

In the back of my mind. But, no I don’t make an actual physical list.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?

I was trying to think of something to go with Beauty and I don’t know Deputy just kind of came to me. My boyfriend asked me last night why I don’t want to be the Beauty Sheriff. Well, I feel like Beauty Deputy sounds better.

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?

I use my Iphone 4s or I use my Sony Cyber-shot (16.1 mega pixels and 10x optical zoom).

28. How often do you clean your house?

I do spot cleaning every day, but deep cleaning once a week to every other.

29. What’s your favorite color?

It always changes. But, it has been purple for the longest time.

30. Do you swear?

Sometimes, I try not to swear. I hate when people can’t carry on a normal conversation without a swear word.

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

Well it is my day off and then I work this weekend. I plan on going to my parents house because my nieces are staying there and then I am going to take them to Frozen.

The Winter Tag!

I was tagged by The Little Scottish Corner, who by the way I think has an amazing blog! She is always bringing amazing product reviews!

I live in Minnesota where Winter is a very big part of my life so I thought that the Winter Tag was very appropriate for me to do! It snows quite a lot here and gets well below zero. I have my share of jackets, hats, mittens, gloves, and scarfs for the Winter season. I do like Winter for the most part. I think that it is gorgeous and I also feel like it isn’t my birthday or Christmas without snow! I just hate icy roads and below zero temperatures. So let’s get to the questions and the answers!

What are your favorite things about Winter?

My favorite thing about winter is probably ice skating and snow! I love ice skating. It’s so fun putting on those ice skates and going out on a pond or a lake with the family. Also if it is Winter it might as well have snow. I love the look of snow, especially during December when everybody has Christmas lights on their houses.

What is your favorite Winter outfit?

Pair of jeans, a sweater or sweatshirt, and some boots. I also love wearing scarfs!

What is your favorite Winter food?

I love my grandma’s cooking! So when we get together for Christmas I am in food heaven! I love it all! Mashed potatoes and stuffing are probably on the top part of my list! But as I sit here and type this I think about LEFSE! I can’t be Norwegian and not like Lefse! Lefse with butter and then sugar or brown sugar…mmmhm!

Favorite Winter drink?

Hot chocolate and Apple Cider! I love my hot chocolate with marshmallows! Yum! I also like white hot chocolate! That is delicious!

What is your dream way to spend a Winter’s day?

Spending time with family! I am big on family time! I love when we get together and play cards or board games. I would also love to spend a Winter’s Day ice skating as long as it’s not below zero.

How do you like to do your make-up in the Winter?

I switch my makeup up a lot during the year, but it is day to day. I really like using more purple, green, and darker colors during the winter and lighter colors during the summer. I also do more neutral eyes during Winter.

What are you hoping Santa brings you?
Beautiful weather for the family Christmas weekend! We’re staying at a little resort place that has ice skating, a water park, snow mobiles, and many more things to do. So I just hope that the weather is nice so all can enjoy the beautiful day!

What are the first three things that remind you of Winter?

1. Waking up and looking outside.

2. Taking my puppy out and remembering I should probably put a coat on. Mirya has a sweatshirt too, but she isn’t a fan of it.

3. Hot chocolate!

What is your favorite Winter song?

I do like Christmas music during that time of year.  My favorite Christmas song is Holy Night.

What is your favorite Winter memory?

Spending time with the family during Christmas. It seems like things were a lot easier when I was younger because then my brothers and I still lived at home and life was more simple. Now things are more complicating because we all live in different cities and work different schedules. But, I have some good memories growing up with my family.

What is your favorite Winter scent?

Cinnamon reminds me of Winter. I love my Scentsy scent, “Christmas Cottage ” for my warmer.

TAG Wintry Wednesday (A few days late…)

The Little Scottish Corner recently did this tag and said she tagged anybody that wanted to do this tag. Well I am always a fan of tags so I decided that I would give it a try even if it is not Wednesday.

This tag reminds me of the new Disney movie Frozen which I loved by the way!

Anyway onto the questions and answers! Hope you enjoy!

1. What’s your favorite holiday movie?
This is a hard one because I love a lot of the holiday movies. But, one that I love the most is probably “The Christmas Carol.” Except the Mickey version is my favorite because every year my dad would pop it into the VCR and press play. So that is favorite memory of mine too.

2. What are your favorites Christmas colors?
Red and Green! I do love Christmas colors and I basically just love Christmas!

3. Do you like to stay in your PJs or dress up for Christmas?
When I was a kid I would always wear PJs and my brothers and I would wake up early and go wake up our parents because Santa came. There was no time for dressing up. But, I did dress up when my family celebrated with the extended family. My cousin and I always had to have matching Christmas dresses. Now that I am older I usually dress up a little bit, but not as dressed up as I got when I was little.

4. If you could only buy one person a present this Christmas, who would it be?
That would be so hard. But, I think I would buy for my grandma. She is such a hard worker and she always works so hard to cook a wonderful meal at Christmas time and it’s always fun to watch her open her gifts from us during Christmas.

5. Do You Open Your Presents Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?
When I was little our parents would let us open maybe 1 gift on Christmas Eve. We would usually celebrate with my dad’s side on Christmas Eve so we would open those gifts. Then on Christmas we would open gifts from Santa. We would always celebrate Christmas the weekend before or sometimes after depending on where it landed. Now it doesn’t matter. I work as a nurse so I work holidays so we open gifts whenever the family can get together. We still do get together with my mom’s side during the weekend.

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
I’ve assembled one with one of those kits that you can buy, but I’ve never made one from scratch.

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
I don’t really get Christmas breaks anymore because I am in the working field and well hospitals are open 24/7. I do work Christmas Eve this year but I have Christmas Day off. But, when I was in school or college I loved Christmas break. I am big on spending time with family so that was important to me. I just liked relaxing and enjoying my time off.

8. Any Christmas Wishes?
That the weather cooperates and that all family members make it safe and sound. One Christmas a freeway closed due to bad weather so some family couldn’t come. Also that it isn’t freezing cold out this Christmas so I can go ice skating with my family. Last night it was -15 degrees (Fahrenheit) and right now it is -6 and on Thursday they say it will be 15 degrees. Well that is a heat wave!

9. Favorite Christmas Smell?
Cinnamon! I have this scent from Scentsy called Christmas Cottage and it smells divine! A Description from my catalog states, “A cozy, inviting blend of Valencia oranges, raspberries, cloves, and spices.

10. Favorite Christmas Meal or Treat?
This is a hard to choose. But, I love my grandma’s stuffing. It is the best stuffing I’ve ever tried!!! It’s so delicious! I also have a sweet tooth so I do love Christmas cookies!

The Perfect Palette Tag

On Youtube there is this tag going around called, “The Perfect Palette Tag.” It was created by a mother and daughter. The mom’s YouTube channel is iluvfaces1042. Well I just thought that this tag was a really good idea! In this tag there is a list of 8 questions and whoever is doing the tag gets to look at their palettes and place them into a category such as: best packaging or best color payoff. Well I don’t make YouTube videos so I decided to tag myself and do it through my blog. I am a big palette junkie, making eye shadow palettes my favorite makeup item. Well in advance I am apologizing for the bad photo quality. I was taking these pictures by myself using my Ipad and at that time the sun was going down. I wish I would have taken the pictures sooner, but oh well you get the point of the pictures!

Well here are my palettes that I choose for the tag!

1. BEST PACKAGING

The Great and Powerful Oz in Glinda and Theodora by Urban Decay

I couldn’t choose between my Glinda or my Theodora palettes because I love both their packaging. It is a very sturdy tin case and the colors of the cases are gorgeous! I feel like the colors fit Glinda’s and Theodora’s character very well. Also the eye shadow colors are divine, but this part is for best packaging! In each palette all the eye shadows are removable so the case can be re-used with other Urban Decay shadows once a shadow runs out. 2. BEST COLORPAY OFF

Nude Tude by The Balm

These shadows are the most buttery smooth pigmented eye shadows I have ever used. They’re super blendable which I think is a huge plus! These shadows make applying eye shadows a breeze!  They also have 2 versions of this palette: the “naughty” one which is the one I have (as you can see the girls in the background, but hey it’s the “Nude Tude”) palette or the “nice” one which has a grey background. The Balm goes on Hautelook quite frequently so you can get this palette discounted. Otherwise their website is: http://www.thebalm.com/nude-tude.html

3. MOST VERSATILE

Lorac Pro by Lorac Cosmetics

I would have to go with my Lorac Pro for a few reasons. First off there is 16 eye shadows. There is a wide range of colors meaning that I could make a day look or spice it up a bit with the darker shades. Another thing that sets the Lorac Pro apart from other palettes and making it my most versatile is that the top 8 shadows are all matte and the bottom shadows are all shimmer. There is also a good highlight shade which is always a pro. I got mine at Ulta, but you can get it at their website too! http://www.loraccosmetics.com/make-up_pro-palette.html Lorac is the founder Carol spelled backwards. I thought that was interesting and a good idea on Carol’s part. Also, this palette comes with a primer!

4. BEST FOR TRAVELING

Naked 2 by Urban Decay

The Naked 2 palette comes in a hard tin case making it strong for travels. It has 12 shadows from light to dark. Basically I can create numerous neutral looks from just 1 palette. It also comes with a double sided brush making eye shadow application as simple as 1-2-3. I think that the upcoming Naked 3 looks amazing because it has rose neutrals! 5. BIGGEST REGRET

San Francisco Eye Shadow and Blush Palette by Bh Cosmetics 

Sorry Bh Cosmetics but I haven’t really used this palette that much. The eye shadows are kind of lacking in the pigmentation department and I just have a hard time thinking of a look to create with it. I do think the packaging is cool. It was also pretty cheap, so I don’t feel too bad! But, I did give Bh Cosmetics another chance and because of that I now love my Galaxy Chic palette from them! That palette was in close second on best packaging. (I do have a review on the Galaxy Chic palette,  the link is posted below.) 6. BEST COLOR NAMES

Creme De Couture by Sigma Beauty 

This palette is no longer available online. But I just thought that the names were adorable! This palette is based off of Macaroons so the palette itself is suppose to look like a macaroon box. The color names include: Redberry Rose, Apricot Flower, Passion Fruit, Cherry Blossom, Meyer Lemon, Ginger Pumpkin, Cafe au Lait, Blueberry Cream, Violet Whip, Lavender Honey, Cassis, Elderberry, Blue Chocolate, Almond Pear, Creme De Menthe, and Citron Pistachio. So each name is like a different type of macaroon. I just think that Sigma did a really good job with matching the names with the color. I just think that they should have included a vanilla color in this palette.

7. LEAST USED

Ammo Palette by Urban Decay

I really do like this palette. It was actually my first palette ever. I said it was, “The Great and Powerful Oz in Glinda” in one of my previous posts, but I just realized I got this palette first. As you can tell I forget about this little guy! I do like the colors in this palette. So I need to start using this palette more!

8. MOST USED, MOST LOVED, DESERT ISLAND

Vice 2 by Urban Decay

Wow, quite a few Urban Decay palettes have made it onto my, “Perfect Palette Tag” so kudos to you Urban Decay! Your eye shadows rock! Anyway the reason I pick this palette is because there is 20 colors and If I was on a desert island and for some reason got to bring an eye shadow palette along I would pick this one. Although if I was stuck on a desert island I wouldn’t probably worry about makeup. I just feel that with this palette since there is 20 colors in a huge range of colors and finishes I could make a multitude of looks. I really do love Urban Decay’s pigmentation and I love the colors so that is why  this palette is my most loved! I do use this palette freqently, although it is pretty new, it is on its way to becoming the most used.
